Democratic Judicial Committee Member Schultz on Impeachment!

 Wasserman Schultz, (D) Florida, 20th (202) 225-7931fax 202-225-8456

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, representing the 20th District of Florida, needs to be given some attention. It would seem she has been talking to Pelosi, behind the scenes like Diane Watson told us in her candid town hall meeting. Schultz said, in an interview with Ed Schultz Show, “when what we should be focusing on are… our efforts on expanding the Democratic majority and electing a Democratic President.”

In a previous article I had detailed how Diane Watson had expressed the “real” reason that the House Dems were trying their level best to derail the impeachment proceedings. She claimed that behind the scenes Pelosi was urging the other democrats to defeat the impeachment proceedings in order to use this illegal administration as some kind of ploy to help in the Nov. ‘08 elections to garner more Democratic members and ultimately a Democratic president!

  • If Speaker Nancy Pelosi really is telling members this behind closed doors, then she should be removed from her position. Like ALL people who work in the federal government, she is under oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Both President Bush and Vice President Cheney have clearly been working to subvert the plain meaning and intent of the constitution. The constitution is under attack from the White House, and ALL U.S. Representatives have a constitutional obligation to defend it.

It should also be apparent to anyone paying attention that both Bush and Cheney are trying their damnedest to start a war with Iran for reasons that have nothing to do with stopping any imminent threat. By thwarting impeachment just so her political party has a better shot at winning the White House in ‘08 (an unnecessary tactic, as the Republicans are certain to lose unless they cheat again), she is putting the interests of her political party above those of the people who will be sent to fight and die in Iran. If the White House does end up starting a war with Iran, Speaker Pelosi can share some of the blame for that because she refused to get them out of office in time.

  • That is absolutely what she is doing, Wayne (good to “see” you)! Watson told people at a town hall meeting that that is Pelosi’s plan for ‘08. it is on video and it is on my site and linked in the article!

Also, I have an article about how to remove a seated Speaker of the House in session for that very reason.

It is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard from a democrat in many a year! (LBJ)

  • This is precisely what will totally “tank” the Democratic party’s hopes of winning in 08! The mentality of “partisanship over justice” is a critical error in judgment. The midterm election mandate was clear: End the war and End the Corruption in this administration! The democrats have done neither and, in fact, continue to cave in to King George at every turn.

Pelosi et al are guilty of ‘obstruction of justice’ in the impeachment of Cheney/Bush, that’s now becoming clear. It is the mandate of their oath of office to investigate impeachment charges when impeachable offenses exist. Anything short of this is a clear ‘derelection of duty’ ascribed by their oath of office.

What’s occurring presently is the shifting of blame now from the GOP to the Dems – for the war by enabling it due to continuation of funds – for the continuation of illegal spying on americans by suggesting the defacto immunity of the telecoms enlisted by the Bush Cabal do accomplish this heinous abrogation of our constitutional rights to privacy – and now to the “tabling” of impeachment charges against an administration that is out of control.

By the time the 08 elections roll around, the predictions have become clear: The dems will lose in 08 by all indicators right now since the Republicans are turning all of the “blame” right back on the Dems, who clearly have rightfully inherited it now.

Add in what the Repukes will trumpet as the key election issue which is “illegal immigration” and the Dems chances of putting someone in the white house become even more abysmal.

If the Dems continue to prioritize party over their oath of office, they are destined to invoke the continued ire of the american people who will vote against them because they’ve shafted the american people.

I’m sick and tired of the dems using the ridiculous excuse of “being obstructed” – They control what issues are brought to the floor even for discussion so they don’t fool the majority of the people for one moment.

The fact is that it’s becoming clear that either the dems are concerned about being blackmailed for their skeletons which have probably been unearthed by Bush’s illegal spy program OR most of them are in synchrony and/or getting rich off this country’s massive war machine.

  • I apologize for this but I just couldn’t resist. I was reminded of the old adage (You will have to be old to understand) “‘Tis better to have loved and failed your Wasserman, than never to have loved at all.”

  • Hi Willy! Hi Wayne! Just when you thought the dems couldn’t get much lower, this week sheds yet new light on their new nadir.

I can’t wait for “Independent’s Day” – it can’t come for me one day too soon.

  • Hi realveritas!

“Pelosi et al are guilty of ‘obstruction of justice’”!!!

    right on….

  • The dems will inherit it all and are playing right into the hands of the reichwing. This election could become extremely interesting with Hillary now tanking due to her stand on illegal immigration and the Iran resolution – and Rudy-toot-toot being taken down by his partner in crime, Bernie Kerik. I suspect that the Independent/unaffiliated voters will soon get the candidates to “walk the talk” – something which is unprecedented in this country.

  • Hey Willy! Can you belive all of this major bullcrap? The dems look more like Repukes every day. And Stenny Hoyer?? Who is this man – really?? A Repuke in disguise??

  • I’m continuing to put in a plug for the people on every blog I visit:

If you want the candidates to represent you, then switch to Indy (after the primaries if that matters to you) so that the I’s will have “power” in 08.

Obviously, with the GOP numbering in the 20’s, the I’s number now is almost equal to the number of registered dems….There’s power in numbers!

  • Great article Willy, It is plane to see the troublesome dem’s are constantly running for office and holding their seats and neglecting their job’s while in office..

My entire life I have been a reward good behavior and punish bad sort of person..Sad to see the polatician’s have lost sight of the fact most voter’s will probably do as I will do and vote their asses out or not vote at all because of their stupid behavior..

In the recent poll’s of the people regarding the congress the dem’s fared 53% to 40% for the rep’s. This small lead of approval will go away in a blink of the eye if Palosi and Reid continue with their stupid little game’s….Doing everything to save their job and to attempt to get more seat’s during these dreadful time’s and neglecting the promises, will of the voter’s, helping bush dismantel our constitution and country make’s them just as guilty as this administration and will likely loose them the seat’s and whore house…Of all running for office only Kucenich has my respect and will get my vote even if he is not picked……Blessings

  • So many folks are confused about what it means to register “independent” – they confuse it with voting for an “independent candidate” – an action which splintered the democratic vote in the past (Nader). Although there may come a “dark horse” to swoop in and clean up in 08 rising from the Indy section of the ledger, it really means that neither the GOP nor the Dems have you in their pocket as a guaranteed vote; ergo…they will find that they must consider your wishes if they desire your vote.

If there are enough I’s in 08, the power will shift back to “the people”. This is the last card which we, the people, have in our hands.

  • witch1: Hi and you’re so right! I can’t believe that the Dems are squandering their political capital which they gained in the midterms by continuing to act like sycophantic fools. In their small minds, they somehow believe that what they are doing will help put them into the WH in 08 but nothing could be further from the truth.

What they have done thus far (one year’s worth of bungling and bending over) and what they continue to do is making more dems switch over to Independent because they are sickned by the actions of Pelosi et al.

Maybe they’ll realize it but it will be too late. The polls are indicating that even if they were to realize it right now, it’s already “too late” for them.

Yes, Kucinich is the only honest candidate on the Dem side and, other than Ron Paul on “some” of his issues, this translates into a disgusting group of “corporate establishment candidates”. I won’t vote for a single one of them, Obama included.

  • Hi Wayne! Yes, the Bush/Cheney Iran plan goes back to Pappy Bush and the desire to control the oil in the Middle East. They’ve bungled it thus far ($3.00+ per gal with two “oil men” sitting in the WH – appalling!) and realize that they have little time to accomplish their coup….er …. task.

  • Pelosi and Reid have finally begun to “drink the juice”, too.

  • realveritas, back at ya, great post’s all….Question, where has Howard Dean been forever?….Haven’t see or heard anything by him in month’s…Any comment’s.?….Blessings

  • witch1: Good question regarding Howard Dean who appears to be “in exile”. I know that he’s snowed under with the primary fights in some states but, other than that, he’s been noticeably mute.

If what I read is accurate, the Dem party is so fragmented right now that it will be easy for the Repukes to divide and conquer.

In my opinion, other than Kucinich on the Dem side, there isn’t one single candidate who represents my POV’s on a myriad of issues – if we could just combine them all and clone a single candidate from that, we might be able to come up with someone who will represent The People.

When the majority of americans appear to be “to the left” of the Democrats, then we’ve apparently got a Democratic Party which is ‘quasi Republican’, it seems.

Why do I see the edge slipping away from the Democratic Party right now for 08?? Is it just me or have the american given up on these spineless sycophantic ‘faux democrats’ in office??

  • P.S. I’ve heard that the Independent thinkers (and registered I’s) are promoting individuals from their ranks to run the Repukes AND the Dems out of office.

Frankly, the Dems are asking for this and it is something which we probably need – a full and clean ’sweep’ in 08 with the remainder being swept when their terms expire.

Term limits and campaign finance reform should be concomittant with a clean sweep – installing new insights and fresh attitudes versus staid, thoughtless, politically corrupt life-congressmen running the show.

  • What little respect I’ve had for the Democrats is in short supply these days as they continue to squander the hopes of the people who gave them the majority in the midterms. They seem to go from bad to worse with each passing day/week.

  • Wow Willy, that was powerful. I was on the road listening to that entire exchange between Wasserman-Schultz and Ed Schultz. I was totally infuriated!! Ed really went after her on it. He kept trying to take a breath and be reasonable, but her answers were SO IDIOTIC he just started yelling!!

These guys are missing the boat completely. It puts this country at enormous risk. And there are a LOT of lives at risk while they are following this STUPID strategy. They are going to go down in flames over this.
It is not what the people want.

  • Jeebus…

I always thought Wasserman-Schultz was one of the smart ones.

  • realveritas, nwmuse and Lady Z,……Good to read you all here…I have been screaming for some month’s now that the majority of the dem’s are nothing but rep. lite…..

It will be interesting, just a little, to see how many of the delegate’s follow suit and put one of the top 3 in the final race…I don’t think any of them will win at this point…The dumbocrat’s are going to go down and some one like ron paul or guglianne will end up in the whore house…..

It is going to get a lot worse before it get’s better…..Untill and unless the public realy get up in arm’s and act and the dem’s finelly do their job (not likely) it will just keep going down hill….

The misery index will make people react, more war’s will cause the real shift, sadly…A draft would pretty much cinch it….

People out here in the real world for the most part keep shrugging off all the bad new’s and ignoring the peace activest’s untill it involves them personely…The voter’s will not forget grief or betrayal, the 2 major issues in life and the dem’s are going to pay for the betrayal..They did it (Palosi & Reid) now they will pay the price, removal from office or the balance of their tenure in office kissing big bloated reich wing butt’s to survive…..Note lieberman is being banted about for a VP job for the reich….Huh~ like we all figured that ass wipe was wanting to get to the whore house by hook or crook..Blessings

  • They take the electorate for that stupid? Where is Al Gore?
