Are you f*cking kidding me..?

Negative news coverage may have cost former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales his job, but it won him a dubious honor Wednesday from a magazine published by the American Bar Association: Lawyer of the Year.
Additionally, the ABA Journal named Gonzales’ successor, Attorney General Michael Mukasey, as its top lawyer for 2008 — mostly in anticipation of how often he’ll be in the media spotlight for trying to repair the beleaguered Justice Department.
Now I KNOW I have crossed through the looking glass…
This ISN’T satire?
This caveat should have led the article:
Adams said the magazine’s picks “do not necessarily reflect the official policy of the ABA.”
Picking Gonzales for Attorney of the Year because he was in the news for much of the year is like picking O.J. Simpson as “Athlete of the Year” when he was on trial for murdering his wife.
Lawyers do have a very special kind of humour, don’t they?
Well, Time magazine did name both Hitler (1938) and Stalin (1939, 1942) as their “Man of the Year”. They don’t always pick good, decent human beings for these things.
And the ABA has alread named Michael Mukasey as their “2008 Lawyer of the Year”. Go figure. You should see the list of runners-up, for both years.
