  • I finally got to sign Wexler’s petition (it wouldn’t show up on my computer for some reason).

    I am signer number 76,290!

  • Wahoo, Lady Z..Think I was around the 5,000 mark..There is progress….Hope you are having a good Monday….I’m about to raise hell with the cable company and find out why C=Span 2 is not on this past week..Just one tiny problem in a sea of thing’s to bitch about…

How long a break do you have before classes start up again.?..Blessings to you.

  • muse, I love that picture!

Good morning, Witch! I hope you’re back on your feet again. It looks like you’ve got your feisty back!

When I still had cable, C-Span was “unavailable” quite often. Pissed me off!

  • The Senate just voted for cloture — shutting up Dodd. 76-10

  • Does that mean he can no longer filibuster?

  • Why does it feel that our government is no longer ‘for the people or by the people’? Or that it even works?

  • I had to look it up:

cloture – The only procedure by which the Senate can vote to place a time limit on consideration of a bill or other matter, and thereby overcome a filibuster. Under the cloture rule (Rule XXII), the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours, but only by vote of three-fifths of the full Senate, normally 60 votes.

  • Right, muse. Dodd’s own party made him shut up — none of them represent us.

    Hillary & Obama were MIA.

  • I am listening to Diane Feinstein introduce her amendment. Her entire argument is based on POST 9/11 behavior and actions, even though it has been proven Bush started eavsedropping BEFORE 9/11.. Like 2 weeks after he took office. Strange don’t ya think?

  • I wonder how Bush thought he would get away with spying on Americans if the attacks of 9/11 had never happened.. Awfully fortuitous for the Bush administration. No wonder they all kept using the phrase “an opportunity” right after 9/11 happened. No wonder Bush doesn’t think about Bin Laden oh so much..
I think they planned to change this country entirely before they even took office, which is why they had to get Bush into office by hook or by crook (or by stolen elections).

  • He’s always gotten away with EVERYTHING! Why wouldn’t he think he’d get away with it. Of course, this is exactly why they ignored the warnings about the coming 9/11 attacks.

Feinstein is useless — as are almost our entire Congress.

  • Back at ya Lady Z and all, Better today…Still I tire easily…Dammit..Getting older suck’s, but it doe’s beat the alternative…

Just got off the phone, going with all cable, even phone….Dumping Verizon and getting comcast with all the bell’s and whistles for just a few doller’s more a month…Will have unlimited long distance, something I have not had for year’s..Now I can call my buddy and talk for hour’s, something we do any way but she call’s me..In fact I will be able to call any one in the world……Yahoo! Now I will be able to blast the house and senate and not have to use my cell minute’s…Going to change that in a couple of week’s as well.

Look’s like it’s a typical manic Monday and the miserable senate has sold out we the people again..I’m telling ya, I am not a happy camper..Not sure what I will do next, but it will be good…At the very least I will vent…..Here’s hopeing you all have a good day..Please forgive my absence of late been working on lot’s of issues like saving wild life and the planet….We are down to a little more than 100 red wolve’s..If possible, check out Defenders of Wildlife..Gotta hug a puppy and some tree’s….Blessings

  • Ted Kennedy just gave a very powerful speech. Dodd is talking again.

  • Muse, please keep us updated…..I won’t have c-span back untill after Thursday…Comcast in my area did a dump on that channel last week and they will be out to upgrade me on Thursday…Blessings

  • Sen. Kit Bond (R) is now talking about how they (the telecom companies) did nothing wrong.
How can these guys stand up and talk like this now knowing full well that Bush started this activity LONG before 9/11?? Didn’t they get the memo..?

  • Sen. Cornyn is talking now. Of course, for immunity.

  • Now it is Senator Wyden from Oregon (my Senator). (Go Wyden!!)

  • He is talking about how he has read the intelligence documents that most of Congress has not been privy to. He is underlining how FLIMSY their case is. He says that NONE of the program is legal. He is insisting that now that all of this stuff is out in the open, all of it should be declassified. He said it is ONLY classified in order to cover Bush’s ass. (My words..)

  • I couldn’t be prouder of Wyden. Wow!

  • He insisted loudly and to the point that ALL Senators should read the documents BEFORE they vote on this. Dodd broke in to make the point that being a senior Senator, serving in important committees such as , he is still not able to read these documents? Wyden said “Yes, you will not be able to see these documents.”

Dodd is now back up to speak again.

  • Dodd has my utmost admiration.

Orin Hatch is now speaking. He is again talking about how what the telecom companies did made Americans safe. He is also skipping right over the fact that this started long before 9/11.. What is wrong with these guys.. They remind of my kids.

  • Hatch is clearly worried about the threat to financial ruin of lawsuits to the telecom companies and their shareholders… Not the right to privacy of the US Citizens.

  • He is more concerned with the rights of the companies, than the rights of Americans. Un-f*ing believable..
