  1. From your words vs. acts article:

Worse yet, U.S. cluster munitions have a high failure rate. A sizeable number of dud bomblets fall to the ground and become de facto landmines which, Garlasco points out, are “already banned by most nations on this planet.” Garlasco adds: “I don’t see how any use of the current U.S. cluster bomb arsenal in proximity to civilian objects can be defended in any way as being legal or legitimate.”

We are no longer a civilized nation. We are a nation of war mongers. We no longer have the power or the ability to wage never ending war for what we want to control. For that I am glad. We also no longer have the ability to protect ourselves. For that I am angry and afraid.

The fact is that the time will come when other nations bring the wars to US soil. It might be for our own acts of aggression (which, god help me, is justified), or it may be for aggressive takeover of this country by another country.

When we say it’s OK to allow such types of weapons, weapons which affect civilians, and in this case, mostly children, we are saying that we accept this collateral damage to be inflicted upon us, as well.

Also from that article are those who voted Yea to ban and Nay to continue using these horrible weapons…dare I say weapons of mass destruction?

Here’s just a snapshot of how some other prominent senators voted:

Boxer (D-CA), Yea; Byrd (D-WV), Yea; Durbin (D-IL), Yea; Feinstein (D-CA), Yea; Kennedy (D-MA), Yea; Kerry (D-MA), Yea; Leahy (D-VT), Yea; Levin (D-MI), Yea; Reid (D-NV), Yea.

Bayh (D-IN), Nay; Biden (D-DE), Nay; Brownback (R-KS), Nay; Chambliss (R-GA), Nay; Coleman (R-MN), Nay; Dodd (D-CT), Nay; Dole (R-NC), Nay; Frist (R-TN), Nay; Graham (R-SC), Nay; Hagel (R-NE), Nay; Inhofe (R-OK), Nay; Lautenberg (D-NJ), Nay; Lieberman (D-CT), Nay; Lott (R-MS), Nay; McCain (R-AZ), Nay; Rockefeller (D-WV), Nay; Santorum (R-PA), Nay; Schumer (D-NY), Nay; Specter (R-PA), Nay.

I might add that the democratic senator from DE has also signed onto one of PNAC’s letters. And no matter that I agree with that letter in concept, the content (terrorism) which is the hot button for the PNAC’s vision of America ruling the world, I have a great amount of disdain for anything coming from these neo-con hate and war mongers who believe that it is owed to us that we should own the world. And ANY and I mean ANY single person who has ever signed on to any of their documents, beliefs, or concepts, is against all free and peace loving people everywhere.

  2. What I find interesting is that Hillary acts like the world learned about this from Heather Mills when Princess Diana’s major cause was land mines and she traveled all over talking about it. Of course Diana can’t donate money any more.

  3. According to the divorce judgement Heather Mills hasn’t donated a single penny of her own money to charity last year (she claims she donated 80%-90%), which reminds me, where are Hillary Clinton’s tax returns, still in a safe undisclosed location?
