I forgot that men had haircuts with bangs. Then I remembered, my husband HAD BANGS when I first met him. Well, it wasn’t his haircut that caught my attention, if you know what mean…

Good night all, it’s getting late on the East Coast and I’m not a youngster like the dbadass. So I’m off to bed. Stop by Penn for change and check out the clips from “Meet John Doe”. I’m going to have to rent that movie. There’s things about it that are applicable to today’s politics and media.

Now that everyones asleep, I will admit that Frampton Comes Alive remains iconic but I just like the shear goofiness of this
May 2, 2008 at 10:52 pm
And don’t even get me started on that weird microphone stuff!!!
May 2, 2008 at 10:55 pm
You love that hokey shit.
May 2, 2008 at 10:57 pm
hokey stuff is degrading to truly goofy stuff which requires true genius

All the studying done? I have to do an early all day workshop in a few hours.
May 2, 2008 at 11:05 pm
No, not all done. Just done for tonight.
Another all day workshop? Jeebus.

A fellow was hired for x number of hours of instruction so now that the grant is over things need to start getting wrapped up. I think I may look for funds to advance this but worse case he and I will pursue some primitive way to advance our collaborations. I can see a cool partnership between his grad students and my students
So wanna borrow my DZ cds?
May 2, 2008 at 11:12 pm
What are DZ cds?
May 2, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Dread Zeppelin
So I was thinking…
May 2, 2008 at 11:19 pm
Ah, Dread Zepplin.
Thinking what?
May 2, 2008 at 11:27 pm
just thinking that since my foodie night idea went nowhere I would like to encourage folks next Friday to select their favorite tune from their favorite album/cd. It would potentially be a great way for everyone to gets some ideas for some new music and if people wished to explain why that album/cd was impressionable on them some interesting conversations might result.
I call the Clash- Sandinista!! Oh and Babylon By Bus also!
May 2, 2008 at 11:30 pm
Sounds like a good idea. You’ll have to remind me though. It will be gone from my brain by tomorrow morning.
Your foodie idea was a good one, but I never got any details on it. **hint hint** I can’t do that one on my own.

Doing theme/seasonal ingredients recipe shares seems too queer yet it may be the easiest starting point.
I call halibut, king salmon, and swordfish
May 2, 2008 at 11:39 pm
Ok, I can do it Wednesday night — that’s the only night since you work Thursday and Friday nights.
What’s in season now? We can collaborate on the post, since I’m useless in this area.

fiddleheads! Asparagus!
By the way, don’t ask about the spinach!
May 2, 2008 at 11:43 pm
rhubarb, peas, wild mushrooms
May 2, 2008 at 11:44 pm
Is a fiddlehead a fish?
They grow lots of asparagus around Walla Walla. Some friends just went over there for some.
Not asking about the spinach…

Very short season and very expensive as they have to be hand harvested.
So the entire car is full of spinach. At a time where need is so great I continue to be appalled by the food distribution system.

Fiddleheads are ferns. The shoots are curled and look like the head of a fiddle. You cut them when they first shoot out of the ground. Clean them, and saute them in olive oil and garlic. Yummy.
