You may have heard of Rev. John Hagee, the McCain supporter who said God created Hurricane Katrina to punish New Orleans for its homosexual “sins.” Well now meet Rev. Rod Parsley, the televangelist megachurch pastor from Ohio who hates Islam. According to David Corn of Mother Jones, Parsley has called on Christians to wage war against Islam, which he considers to be a “false religion.” In the past, Parsley has also railed against the separation of church and state, homosexuals, and abortion rights, comparing Planned Parenthood to Nazis.
John McCain actively sought and received Parsley’s endorsement in the presidential race. McCain has called Parsley “a spiritual guide,” and he hasn’t said whether he shares Parsley’s vicious anti-Islam views. That’s because the mainstream media refuses to ask. More..

Prior to being asked any tough question, McIIIrd whips out his ‘Get out of Scrutiny Free’ card, and the MSM whiffs.

According to the Oregonian’s resident troglodyte editor in this morning’s paper, none of this matters because Hagee isn’t McCain’s pastor and didn’t baptize his kids. So when Hagee or Parsley say something vicious and hateful, it doesn’t count because they’re endorsing him and not the other way around. Even though he actively sought their endorsement, presumably because he shared their beliefs. If you can follow that tortured piece of “logic”, you can sit on the Oregonian’s editorial board.

There needs to be a public showing of this film. Perhaps the UO would consider this. I’m going to encourage the Kutztown Democratic Club to get this film and have a public showing at one of our Potluck and Politics events. There’s other political groups in my area that would be willing to show this film, too.

I would say that a “spiritual advisor” is the same thing as a pastor. Looks like you need to write a letter to the editor of the Oregonian.
