  • Pssst…where is everyone?

  • I’m here. Just getting some dinner.

    How’s things?

  • I put up “Hotel California” with a link to “Intel Paranoia” on my Brain. I hope everyone enjoys them both.

  • Thanks, Wayne. I always love your parodies. :)

  • Thank you, Zooey. Maybe, one day, more than half a dozen people will see them and agree.

  • You let EV whore them for you, and you’ll see results!

  • Howdy…I was off in executive order land.

Wayne, I love your stuff!!! I’ve cross posted some of it on TheCarpetbaggerReport before.

  • I’ve been a blogwhoring fool lately…I got 1400 hits in two days.

  • Did you guys see this abomination of a video?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7Yd80tXs_4

  • Thank you. Just remember to leave something for me to see, so that my ego has something to be happy about. :)

I appreciate your efforts to spread the word. I feel awkward promoting myself like that. Not that I haven’t done it before, but I feel really awkward. I guess I feel better about it when it’s someone else recommending people go see it, rather than me recommending people go see me. So, by all means, “promote” as you see fit. I’ll not have MSNBC accuse me of pimping anyone out.

  • Wayne, maybe you just don’t have the soul of a blogwhore. :)

    You’re learning quickly, MizzJ!

  • I have a feeling that video is going to piss me off, MizzJ. Did you read the comments? Ugh.

  • Wayne, someone at TCBR was saying he missed our lyric guy…so I turned them on to you. I hope they visited.

  • Yes I did, Z. And I responded but it didn’t “take” … no paranoia here. :D

  • I’m a lover, not a fighter. :)

I saw that RNC video, MsJ, and much of it is easily refutable.

There is nothing wrong with voting “present” if you don’t like certain parts of a bill, don’t want them to become law, but feel it would be better if others decide if they want it to become law. If enough people vote for it and it passes, then your vote wouldn’t have made any difference.
Conservatives are almost genetically wired to feel thjat you must take a yes or no stand on every single issue brought before you. They do not understand nuance, they do not understand the idea of “I like a little of this and I like a little of that, why can’t we have both?”

Republicans ALWAYS accuse anyone who thinks that taxes have been cut too much of raising taxes on “middle class familes and small businesses”, even when the politican in questions specifically mentions the super-rich and the multi-billion-dollar-profit corporations.
They also use the very disengenuous tactic of allowing tax cuts to expire to be equivalent to raising taxes, even if he had nothing to do with the fact that the bill sunsets automatically.

President Bush has used the troops as pawns in every single debate he has had about “emergency supplemental bills” to fund his illegal war.

When he made the infamous “bitter” comments, he was specifically speaking about the towns he had visited, not all small towns in America. He also later admitted that he had chosen his words poorly, and clarified his remarks numerous times.

I don’t remember what else was in that bullshit ad. And I am not endorsing Obama, I am refuting lies and misrepresentations by conservatives. This was all off the top of my head as I watched it the first time. How much money will Obama have to spend to get the rest of the country to see the lies as clearly as I could?

  • I read something about some bumpkin supporting Clinton because he got an email that said Obama wouldn’t sing the National Anthem because he didn’t like it and some other crap. He got it in email.

I can only imagine the rubes that buy that…these are the ones sending their bank info because some guy in Nigeria wants to send him 20 billion dollars ’cause he’s a good guy.

  • Thanks, MsJoanne. On my new blog, I included a link on the blogroll to the other song parodies on my first blog (the blgospot one.) That’s where most of them could be found. A few were cross-posted during the transition, so I didn’t have to come up with new material immediately. :)

Feel free to point people to that link. Or copy this one: http://pickwaynesbrain.blogspot.com/search/label/parody

And thanks for letting the world know. I’m not very good at marketing myself. :)

  • My mother has shown me e-mails she gets from her conservative friends. One was the crap about Obama being Muslim, and this was at least six months after that story first “broke” and was quickly shot down. The right wing continues to spread lies because they know that they can’t win using the truth.

  • You’d have thought the whole Wright controversy would have quashed the Muslim thing.

Al Franken had it right: Lying liars and the lies they tell.

  • What a bullshit ad.

You could ask McCain all of those questions, and he wouldn’t be able to answer any of them.

  • Yeah, the future is here…things to come, and all. This is going to be an ugly election.

  • Yes, I think we’ll be able to spot the true racists among our friends by November.

I’ve seen some real ugliness about Obama, but they always stop short of overt racist statements. I doubt they’ll be able to restrain themselves all the way until November.

  • Yes, I think it’s going to get pretty bad. Willie Horton will be the good old days. Hell, they’re probably going to say Horton was Obama.

  • I think Obama has the right temperament to come through it ok, but will the sheeple give into their base fears? It seems more likely than not.

  • I fear it. And I fear even more greatly what will happen to our country.

I am not so naive to think that Obama will be able to reverse all the woes of this country. Honestly, there are days I am so down on all politicians I don’t trust him any more than anyone else. Then I think of Feingold and I get all rosy again.

I am disgusted by the politics here these days.

I saw an interview with that Economic Hitman guy and he was saying that what is happening in South America, what Bush and them hate, is that many of those leaders are actually doing things for their countries and for their poor.

And this may wind up being the end of capitalism, which, if this is the best it is, fine with me.

We will be the next failed experiment that Communism was…all because of the greed of the respective MIC’s and in our case, these asshole neocons. And I will more than gladly spit on the grave of each of them.

  • It’s going to get much worse before it gets better — if it gets better. It’s exhausting just thinking about it, frankly.

I’m about to embark on this road trip with my parents, and I had to make it a rule that we could not talk politics. My dad watches Fox and Billo, and I’m not going to deal with that shit for 2000 miles across the country and back. He sure as hell doesn’t think I know a damn thing, so he won’t listen to anything I have to say.

I agree with the spitting on those graves. Instead of posting an “RIP” thread on the Zoo, we’ll post a “dancing on a dead pol’s grave” thread.

  • Heh. Vodka, darling. Lots and lots of vodka.

Count me in! I’ll even video my dancing on those graves.

And fuck you whichever agency is reading this! :D

  • I missed the point about Bush et al hating the South American governments. It seems to me that if a leader in any country wants to get government involved in helping it’s own people — that means they’re Commies, and it’s a BAD THING!! Even in our own country, government helping citizens is seen as socialism. For fuck’s sake! This “pulling yourself up by the bootstraps” shit is just that these days — shit.

I’m having a nice white merlot, vintage recently. It’s doing what it’s supposed to do….

  • So. American governments are turning against the corporations which do not do good things for the country. These nine countries have banded together to become strong as a unit so they can stand up to these “economic hitmen” who go in and offer them millions to be corrupt or suggest that if they do not take the money, they might not make it…many do not make it. But now that there are nine leaders together, Chavez is one, the US isn’t as strong against them and they are collectively giving Bush, the US, the CIA and the corporations the finger.

    I rather like it.

  • On a more positive note, my son called me a few hours ago and asked, “Guess where I am?” Of course, I guessed a favored bar (missed that one by one night) but he was instead with thousands of other young people at the University of Oregon, waiting for Obama to speak. Some of them had been there since 10 a.m. He described the mood, just before Obama walked out to the podium, as being like a rock concert. No one was holding lighters in the air, and no one had yet thrown their panties up on stage, but still . . .

He called after and said it was terrific.

  • I like it as well, MizzJ. I wonder when we’ll be invading South America?

  • We have ships off the coast as of a few days ago.

Gummitch, what else did the kids say?

  • OMG, I am so jealous, gummitch!

The UI Democrat club has been trying to get Obama here to speak. It’s probably a very long shot.

Maybe that’s what he’s afraid of.

  • Hey, Oregon is in play, and both Obama and Clinton are in the state (or Clinton was, not sure where she is now).

MsJoanne, I got nothing else to report. He called briefly and then ran off with his buddies.

  • Fuuuuck.

  • Well, Idaho used to be a Democrat state. **sniff**

  • Check this out…BRILLIANT!!

You should do a post on this.

    http://liberalvaluesblog.com/ …first story.

  • Hey, Zooey, this is the first time in recorded history (or more) that anyone was interested in Oregon’s primary votes. It’s been, “Oh, you can vote, but Kerry is the nominee. Enjoy!”

  • gummitch, you just made me realize that I forgot to go to the courthouse and vote early in the primary before I leave town on Monday. Maybe I can squeak in there at 8 a.m.

I don’t know why we bother. The delegates were chosen and committed at the caucuses.

My vote hasn’t counted in 15 years. How about that? ;)

  • I like it going on for that reason, Gummitch.

If they don’t make a single day for primaries after this, well that would just suck. Too many games and bullshit. After the early primaries, I, who voted on Super Tuesday didn’t even have everyone to vote for. WTF’s with IA and NH deciding? Wrongo!

  • I agree, MizzJ. Pick a day, or two in a row, and have a nationwide primary. Everyone can vote for the full slate of candidates as the same time.

    Dream on!!

There’s too much money to be made, and it will NEVER happen. Sorry…

  • Here’s a great comment from C&L:

who was it that wrote that all political systems devolve into oligarchical systems? Robert Michels Iron Law of Oligarchy.

The iron law of oligarchy is a political theory, first developed by the German syndicalist sociologist Robert Michels in his 1911 book, Political Parties. It states that all forms of organization, regardless of how democratic or autocratic they may be at the start, will eventually and inevitably develop into oligarchies. The reasons for this are the technical indispensability of leadership, the tendency of the leaders to organize themselves and to consolidate their interests; the gratitude of the led towards the leaders, and the general immobility and passivity of the masses.

  • Yeah, that sounds like us. :(

  • I think I got spammed.

  • The liberalvalues link? Is that the only one missing?

  • I don’t know why that keeps happening…

  • Yes. Read that…it’s hysterical.

  • The Dems trying to break up with Hillary routine is a riot!

I’m going to bookmark it for a post tomorrow. Thanks, MizzJ. :)

  • Most welcome.

The guy who wrote it was Wesley Crusher on Star Trek TNG. And a poker player. I’ve played poker with him before.

When I first saw the link on Ron’s site, I thought…I know this name (aside from ST-TNG) so I hadda check out his blog. Yup. I used to play poker all the time…2-3-4-5x a week.

I won alot, too. I miss it. I started traveling alot and didn’t get much of a chance. I used to play at casinos all the time when they had them when I traveled.

  • When I played poker with him…I never knew he was from ST-TNG…I just knew him as a poker player. heh on me.

  • He still looks like such a geek. I like at the top “Wil Wheaton says, “Don’t be a dick!”

    Such a potty mouth!

  • Read his bio…Cracked. Me. Up.

He’s got a brilliant sense of humor.

  • I never knew he was in Stand By Me.

    I am so lame sometimes.

  • Well, dear…it’s bed time.

Safest travels and I look forward to your report from the road.

    Cheers and sweet dreams!

  • I heard he had a blog, but I thought it would be full of D&D shit, or computer game crap. :D

    You played professional poker, MizzJ?

  • Sleep well, MizzJ.

    I’m outta here too.

    **crickets chirping**

  • Gummitch - I, too, saw Obama and it does have a rock star atmosphere while waiting for him. There were people assigned to act as cheer leaders to get the crowd to shout “Fired up” “Ready to go”. Then there was the “wave”. People were laughing and having a good time even though they had to wait for hours. It was worth it. Is the University of Oregon in Eugene? My son-in-law was talking about Eugene last night. His brother was teaching there and is now on a sabbatical to Stanford. He loves Oregon and so does my daughter. Someday, I will be visiting :) you and witch1.

  • Sorry I had to bail on the Zoo last night…Busy day at the resort and the Bear and I slept from 6P.M. last night till 6A.M. this morning….Damn, never slept that long before but guess I needed it…

Tinkle Bear was rearing to go this morning for sure. The fishermen are already out in the rain here so look’s like I won’t be around much again….Post on critter’s and I will try to catch up later…..Have a wonderful week end..Lot’s of Blessings to one and all…..BTW, Wayne your song parodies are the best…
