Raw Story:

In a speech to Israel’s Knesset, Bush said that “some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along … We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

Responding with a statement, the Obama campaign seized on Bush’s remarks even as it was unclear to whom Bush was referring.

“It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israel’s independence to launch a false political attack,” Obama said in the statement. “George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president’s extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel.”

The White House said Bush’s comment wasn’t a reference to Obama.

Right…. The message to Israel is clear. If you vote Democratic for president, you will die. This is utterly deplorable.

These are the same tactics used in the run-up to the 2004 presidential election. I will never forget watching the news reports of the Taba Hilton bombing in Egypt on October 7, 2004. I just happened to flip to a FOX News channel. The reporter was asking questions of a spokesman of the hotel, and injected “well, this is what you can expect if Kerry is elected..” (or something very close to that).

It was the politics of fear and destruction, and Bush is continuing to use it now. What is the matter with this man? He is no leader; just a malicious, amoral, monumental fool. He can’t leave too soon for me.

President George W. Bush will tell Israel’s parliament today that letting Iran acquire nuclear weapons would be an “unforgivable betrayal of future generations.”

“America stands with you in firmly opposing Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions,” Bush will tell Israeli legislators on the second day of his visit to the Jewish state, according to an advance copy of a speech he was due to deliver later in the day.

Is this Bush giving Israel the green light? Is that why John Conyers sent out that letter to President Bush now? Is there some special significance, like nailing down all the details and getting everyone on board, to all these recent trips to the Middle East between Bush and Cheney? Are they just going ahead with plans without letting Congress or Americans in on it? Regardless of what anyone wants, or consequences?

If they are, then IMPEACHMENT isn’t good enough. Not by a long shot.
