Dennis Kucinich: Articles of Impeachment (live blogging)

On C-Span right now: Dennis Kucinich reading Articles of Impeachment (35).

We’ve missed some of them, but we’ll try to pick it up now…

UPDATE:  Get this…

Resolved,” Kucinich then began, “that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate. …

“In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power…”

Thanks, spencersmom.  :)

UPDATE 2:  Live blogging has concluded.

  • Article 9: Failure to provide body armor and armored vehicles.

  • I’ll find a pic.

  • Sent the troops into battle without arnor.

Acted contrary to the interests of the people.

  • Article 10: Falsefying accounts of troops deaths for political purposes.

  • Failed to take care that laws have been faithfully followed — something like that.

Tillman death — false information. Friendly fire. Falsified the reports. Generals knew, but moved forward with Silver Star.

Warned men not to tell about true story. “Confidentiality interests”

  • Jessica Lynch story.

  • Said she’d been shot and beat up. Doctors later said there were no such wounds.

Lynched denied Pentagon’s story. Excellent treatment by Iraqis.

  • WH heavily promoted the false story. Lynch awarded Bronze Star AFTER the true story was revealed.

  • Article 11: Establishment of permanent bases in Iraq

  • Lynch even said they sang to her in the hospital to make her feel better…
I don’t understand the need for the WH and military to fabric a totally different story EXCEPT to fire up the people in this country to go after Iraqis, and get people behind this war.
    Liars!!

  • Bush violated a law that he signed into law “HR 4986″

  • It doesn’t look like anyone else is in the room. Doesn’t matter. Its on the record.

  • Shit, my hands are cold. I can hardly type.

  • They’re talking about this on TP as well — off topic, of course.

  • He’s wearing his flag lapel pin. He must be a patriot.. That should give more weight to the words he is saying.. (OK, turning off the sarcasm).

I am so happy to hear these words coming out on the House Floor FINALLY!!

  • There’s a phrase he keeps repeating about the impeachable offense. I wish I could pick it up.

  • Article 12. Attacking Iraq for its resources (OIL).

  • TP now has a thread aobut this…

  • Cool. How could we possibly be so arrogant about divvying up Iraqi oil?

  • You KNOW he’s been working hard on this over a long period of time.

OT: They subpoena’d Scott McClellan today. He is supposed to appear June 20th.

  • Reasons for invasion “categorically fraudulent.”

  • Subpoenaed or “invited?”

  • He is referring to the secret meetings of the “Cheney Energy Task Force” BEFORE 9/11 and the Iraq War, where these energy bigwigs had a map where they divied up the oil wells in Iraq to foreign suitors..

  • Going back:

Hydrocarbon law…prime objective of Bush admin

  • Subpoenaed. I can’t wait.

  • 1999 Cheney meeting: awareness that more oil is needed. Many regions of the world have the oil we need. The “prize.” Progress (getting the oil) is slow.

    Vultures…

  • That is why the let everything else be destroyed and looted, and they raced to secure the oil wells ONLY after we invaded.

  • acted in a manner contrary to the trust of

    shit, I missed it again…

  • ARticle 13

Creating a secret task force to energy and policy regarding Iraq.

  • This one was carried out by Cheney.

  • Wait just a minute. That Jessica Lynch thing was a story?
You ladies are doing great! Have at it!!!

  • And military policy. Undermined congress’ ability to legislate.

Cheney energy task force: a january 29, 2001 memorandum, the prez est the NEPDG, vp, 9 cab, officials, and others. Make recs to prez. vp chaired group, est working groups to assist NEPDG.

  • Here’s that map that I was speaking of:
    http://www.judicialwatch.org/iraqi-oil-maps.shtml

    Again, BEFORE 9/11.

  • Jeebus, is there an advance copy…?

  • God damn it why don’t I have tv?

  • Join in dabadass. We need all the help we can get.

  • Who is the woman now sitting directly behind him?

  • Don’t know. Those pearls are suspicious.

  • Tons of evidence against Cheney’s evil ass.

  • The oil companies are all mixed in with the iraq and energy policy. Surprise!

  • dbadass
    June 9, 2008 at 5:53 pm
God damn it why don’t I have tv?

    Idon’t either!

    Thanks, ladies!!!

  • Oil companies writing oil laws for Iraq. Sheesh.

Bush acted in a manner contrary to the laws of this country…..

  • Hi, Merlin.

I’m doing a bad job of this.

  • Article 14: Obstruciton of justice re Plame

  • You know, if NOTHING comes of this, it brings immense SHAME on Congress for sitting on their thumbs whilest giving Bush/Cheney a free pass as they run roughshod over our laws and Constitution and having evidence of SO many crimes committed by these turkeys, and not doing a damn thing about it. SHAME!

If they do NOTHING, then our laws and Constitution no longer hold ANY meaning or value. Unless, they are enforced or unheld, then they are meaningless.

If the executive branch does not have to abide by the laws of this country, then why does any other citizen of this country have to be bound by them?

  • Repeated meme about Bush failing to uphold his oath of office…

  • He will have lots of material to work with on this one once they get McClellan’s testimony on the record.

  • Exposing her identity.

Fail to investigate leaks of info.

    Fail to cooperate with investigation

Undermine prosecution by commuting Libby sentence.

  • Zooey, you are doing great. Really great.

  • God damn it, I keep missing the wherefore paragraph.

  • Zooey
    June 9, 2008 at 5:59 pm
    Hi, Merlin.

I’m doing a bad job of this.

    No. you. are. not!

  • Article 15: Providing immunity from prosecution for contractors in Iraq.

  • Article 15 – providing immunity from prosecution for contractors in Iraq.

  • I need help. I can’t believe how much of this I’m missing.

  • Its too hard to listen carefully and keep up with the detail, and type it as well.

  • Bremer 6/27/04 Order #17

Granting military, contractors immunity from Iraqi law.

bush chose not to enforce the code of military justice in Iraq.

Rape, aggression, etc. No trials, no charges.

    State dept coverup…

  • He’s talking about covering for the crimes of the Blackwater mercenaries.

  • That room should be packed with people cheering after each article.

  • I can’t believe this but I just put in a splitter and a long cable from my neighbors place. dbadass has tv. So who is the “broad” with the pearls. JK!

  • Article 16

    Reckless misspending re contrators.

  • dbadass,

    Shut up and blog…

  • Repeated exposure of waste has not been remedied by Bush.

  • Where is everyone? (Congress) Cowards!

  • Instead of maximizing competition, the admin awarded no-bid contracts.

Halliburton, cost plus contract. Incnetive to run up costs.

  • Zooey lighten up or should I send you to guidance? You are doing great. No disrespect nwmuse, you are too but you seem to have greater confidence

  • The waste isn’t remedied, because it is intentional. Remember, you can’t go to prison for incompetence. You can for taking steps to commit crimes.

  • the tv and the computer are not in the same room!!!!

  • oversight contractors — conflict of interest

  • Is pearl lady praying or napping?

  • Thanks Dbadass..

    Zooey, just the gist.

  • brb

    Gotta go potty.

  • Bush/Cheney opened up a secret pipeline to the US Treasury to his corporate/contractor buddies to totally bleed this country dry.

  • I gotta say this again (paraphrase)

“Though the mills of justice grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small.”

We may see justice actually happen! At least that is my optimistic fantasy in full flower!

    Fitzgerald for AG!

  • cost +?

  • Dbadass, just turn your TV up all the way!

  • I have to give Kucinich a hand for his stamina. Wow.

  • Greenhouse.. Wasn’t she a whistleblower that got totally smeared after being demoted?

  • Thanks for doing this. I just told Jane to switch the TV over from MSNBC (where the “big news” is that Scott McClellan has agreed to testify to Chairman Conyers’ committee, but nothing about the fact that Articles of impeachment are being read on the house floor right now).

I have a picture of Rep Kucinich which I can upload (I think) if you like.

  • This is awesomely great stuff, but can someone explain why he isn’t pushing for a special independent investigator rather than impeachment?

Why are we satisfied with an impeachment when a criminal investigation would be much more appropriate?

  • Zooey picked a good potty break. I am having a hard time following the Ms Grrenhouse stuff. His delivery seems a little strained.

  • Especially when the impeachment ain’t gonna happen?

  • I leave the room for two seconds and pearl lady disappears

  • Ok, what’s happening?

  • Border monitoring system does not work.

    I hope that means something…

  • International Microwave Corp? Come on that is too ridiculous

  • Radiation monitors could not tell the difference between nuke bombs and cat liter.

  • Detector machines were useless.

Boeing made $82 millin profit anyway.

  • Hi Wayne! I put up a picture! Where’d it go??

I think it is important for this to be on the record, even if they don’t act on it. Investigations are important too.

  • FBI scrapped program, and started a new one.

    Probably doesn’t work either…

  • Gold plated gym?

  • If you don’t care for the picture, you may go back and edit it out. No hard feelings. I’m going back into the other room to watch him speak. Maybe I’ll stop by later.

  • gorn by any other name
    June 9, 2008 at 6:14 pm

Is there any reason why we can’t have both at the same time?

  • Cost plus contracts are the shit for contractors, eh?

  • No. Wayne, I think its a way better picture than the one I found.

  • Oh damn. There’s that paragraph agin.

  • Article 17

    Illegal detention

  • Crap, my connection is slowing down.

    I’ll try another wirelss connection.

  • He’s going to get into torture next I bet.
This is SO important to be part of the Congressional record – for all time.

  • With all respects. Why does he have a big styrofoam cup? Shouldn’t a staffer brought something more neutral?

  • Hey it seems like a lot of these issues were addressed on a PBS Frontline show I watched part of yesterday called “Bush’s War”. I didn’t see the beginning but it seems like some of these offenses were documented on that show with administration folks talking.

  • He’s the only one even trying, muse.

  • Shayne,

Help out as much as you can, ok?

  • Prez declared right to detain US citizen indefinitely. No access to courts. Depriving them of Contituitional rights.

  • Detainees hidden from and denied visits from Red cross.

  • I love it. Bush’s “claimed” authority..

  • Enemy combatants

  • acted in a manner contrary to his trust and prex and cc and subversive …..and to the manifest injury to the poeople of the US…therefore…warranting removal.

  • Article 18: Torture

  • He has SO much to work with here. Bush has basically said “so..”

  • Bush has secretly authorized and encouraged the use of torture.

  • He’s defining the different kinds of torture used.

  • In violation of the Constitution and the Geneva Conv. and basic human rights, torture has been ordered by the president.

Waterboarding, beating, fake executions, confinement in extreme cold or heat, stress positions, sleep deprivation, defiling religious articles — routine at gitmo and abu ghraib, bagram prison.

  • These ladies are working hard at relaying the main ideas. Has anyone found anything which is legally unsustainable?

  • He is now talking about Bush ‘redefining’ torture so he could deny using torture.

  • Admin claims it is not torture by redefining torture.

Jay Bybee in a memo, any pain inflicted must be akin to serious physcial injury — prgan fialure, impairment of bodily function or death.

  • Necessity for self-defense could eliminate….

    I missed the rest.

Basically, they can claim that a prisoner died because they needed to defend themsleves from these tortured beings.

  • Raw Story has this story up now. They have video of the beginning articles that we missed.
    http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Kucinich_presents_Bush_impeachment_articles_0609.html

  • Torutre prohibited by several treaties RATIFGIED by the US.

  • Who he’s pointing out where they violated the Geneva Convention and international treaties. Doesn’t this give other countries reason to act.

  • Bush signed a thing prohibiting torture, but then attached a signing statement saying I DO WHAT I WANT.

  • President and VP fought hard quietly appended a signing statement asserting he wasn’t bound to obey rules against torture.

  • Undermined rule of law and damaged our image abroad.

  • He brought up Bush’s signing statement that he didn’t have to abide by the amendment against torture.

  • Defied congress and lied to American people claiming the US does not torture violating US and international law acted in manner contrary to his trust.

  • Article 19: Rendition

  • Article 19: Rendition

  • I’m just sick — hearing this smashed all together like this is making me fucking sick.

  • Guilty of impeachable offense warranting removal from office. Rendition, kidnapping to black sites including nations that practice torture. Conduct as president violates constitutional oath article 2, sec. 3 of const. to take care that laws be faithfully executed.
Violated US, international law and the constitution with rendition. President has admitted that the country has been renditioning since 9/11.

    June 9, 2008 at 6:28 pm

He has SO much to work with here. Bush has basically said “so..”

But the fact that Dennis has taken these steps is monumental. The corporate media has been hiding this from the population. Dennis has presented it to us in a concise, easy to process list of wrongs to the Country.

The corporate media will continue to hide this. It will not be able. Unless WE allow it to die.

  • How is jacking people off the street to undisclosed locations anything less than drug cartel M.O.?

  • Honestly, if Congress lets this go by without standing up and doing something, then we are no longer a nation of laws.

  • Kidnapping and transporting people to countries where they are held without charge and tortured — indefinitely.

This is US. We are doing this. It’s so horrifying.

  • Captured and held indefinitely without being charged or identified to the Red Cross or to their families and many of them are totally innocent. Policy is in violation of US and international law and has turned us into a Pariah state.

  • Policies are the same as disappearing people as was done in Latin American in the late 20th century.

  • Bush refuses to divulge how many people have been kidnapped and imprisoned.

    We are DISAPPEARING people.

  • President has refused to divulge how many victims of extraordinary rendition there have been and some of them might have died in captivity.

  • Shayne, its called “Shock Doctrine”.

  • Bosnians, captured, bound and rendition to Gitmo. Canadian renditioned for 2 weeks, we covered this story.

  • Zooey
    June 9, 2008 at 6:36 pm

I’m just sick — hearing this smashed all together like this is making me fucking sick.

I think there are many in this country who share your pain Zooey. I know I do :(

  • Canadian guy is going to get these rat bastards in trouble. I think I put this story up.

  • Held in an underground grave-like hole — released without charges…

  • After a year he was released without any charges, no links to al Qaeda.

  • Hundreds of extraordinary rendition flights have been documented.

  • I’ll be here, but I need a break. My heartbeat has dropped to 40.

  • US law prohibits sending somebody to a country where there’s a substantial likelihood that somebody might be tortured. Prohibits returning to country of origin which puts prisoner at risk. Transferring a POW where he is likely to be tortured violates the Geneva convention. Situations of armed conflicts international laws apply, he is either a POW or a civilian covered by either the 3rd or 4th convention.

  • OMG, shayne. You’re doing so well…

  • POW should not be repatriated if it puts prisoner in danger, all gitmo detainees and and renditioned are covered by laws. President has abused power, broken at law and put all military and all citizens in danger of similar treatment. Made the US into a state where international law is no longer respected or held.

  • Article 20: Imprisoning children

  • Article 20: Imprisoning children

    Fuck…

  • 2500 children under age 18

  • I can’t do the detail. My brain is still slow after migraine like headachel last night and this morning. I can’t remember what he is saying to repeat long sentences..
    Great job Shayne.

  • Bush is guilty of impeachable offence arcticle 20, imprisoning children. Has personal and acting through agents has held at least 2,5oo children in violation of Geneva convention and the rights of children in armed conflict signed by the US in 2002.

  • Camp Iguana used for holding children some for as long as 5 years and are no longer considered children.

  • Some of the children have been in prison so long, they are no longer children.

  • Boys as young as 14 held as enemy combatants. Boys trying to flee have been held.

  • Geneva convention: children under the age of 15 (now 18) are to be considered victims — even if they were fighting.

    Bush guilty of war crimes….

  • 4th GENEVA CONVENTION ARE TO BE CONSIDERED VICTIMS WHICH WE SIGNED IN 2002. CONTINUED DETENTION SOME AS YOUNG AS 10 BY US MILITARY IS A VIOLATION OF BOTH THE CONVENTION AND THE PROTOCOL. BUSH HAS ACTED IN A MANNER CONTRARY TO …

  • Article 21: Misleading congress and the people about the threat of Iran.

  • You do realize that the purpose of swooping up all the people (and children) and putting them in detention torture camps is not about finding out ANY information, it is about creating fear in the population (Iraq and Afghanistan, etc..) because they can. It helps to control.

It was no accident it ’slipped out’ that they renditioned, disappeared, or tortured. They wanted people to know. You notice people aren’t jumping up to do something to stop them.

This has happened repeatedly throughout many places over many decades.

  • GUILTY OF IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE WARRANTING REMOVAL, ARTICLE 21. IRAN, FALSIFYING INFO WITH THE INTENT OF INVADING IRAN.

  • You’re right, muse. It’s all in the name of “this could happen to YOU.”

  • PERSONALLY AND THROUGH HIS AGENTS HAS MISLED THE CONGRESS AND THE PEOPLE ABOUT POSSIBLE NUCLEAR ATTACK BY IRAN. THE REPORT WAS COMPLETED IN 2006 BUT THE PRESIDENT KEPT WARNING PEOPLE THAT THE THREAD EXISTED.

  • I removed the splitter…

  • I hope he has the stamina to get all the way through to 35..

  • He is getting tired.

    I don’t know how he’s not shouting…

  • BUSH ACTIVELY ENGAGED AND HAD KNOWLEDGE OF THE FALSE CASE AGAINST IRAN. AFTER NIE WAS RELEASED BUSH STATED THAT HE DIDN’T BELIEVE THE REPORT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS STATED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. IN 2001 RUMSFELD STATED OBJECTIVE OF OVERTURNING GOVT OF IRAN.

  • I wish he had someone to tagteam this with..

  • Bush planned to overthrow Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Lebanaon

  • Recon inside Iran since 2004.

  • Zooey, Bush didn’t, PNAC did!

This is their platform which is fully playing out now.

    God bless you, Dennis!

  • Raw Story just got a mention!

  • SECRET MISSION IN IRAN SINCE 2004 CARRYING OUT REMOTE BOMBINGS INSIDE IRAN. FIRST I’VE HEARD OF THIS. TRAINING MEK TO COMMIT ACTS OF VIOLENCE INSIDE IRAN. AND WE CALL THEM TERRORISTS. CHENEY’S OFFICE IN CHARGE.

  • Thanks, MizzJ. I missed that part — I just heard this long list of countries. I’m jsut sick about this.

  • I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a reason that PNAC shut down their website.

  • Secret Directives!? Jesus fucking christ!

  • I need to get on my jammies and crawl under the covers.

  • I love how he is ending each article.

    Article 22: Creating secret laws

  • Article 22: creating secret laws

  • Briseadh na Faire

    WONDERFUL!!!

I have to go to a meeting now, but I’ll be back to read more!

  • muse, are you able to pick up that paragraph? That’s the one I keep missing.

  • CREATING SECRET LAWS #22. HAS ESTABLISHED A BODY OF SECRET LAWS THROUGH THE OFFICE OF LEGAL COUNSEL. THE YOO MEMORANDUM WAS DECLASSIFIED YEARS AFTER IT SERVED AS LAW UNDER THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

  • there are secret executive orders, too.

  • DIR OF NATIONAL ARCHIVE STATES IT WAS PURELY A LEGAL ANALYSIS THAT DOESN’T WARRANT SECRECY. 4TH AMENDMENT HAD NO APPLICATION TO DOMESTIC MILITARY ACTION. CONGRESS WAS DENIED ACCESS TO THESE DOCUMENT EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE REQUESTED AT LEAST 4 TIME AND THERE’S NO NEED FOR CONFIDENTIALITY. 5 YEARS SINCE YOO MEMO WAS AUTHORIZED AND HOW MANY OTHER LETTERS ARE THERE.

  • How can Nancy Pelosi get away with ignoring this. She will not hold her position if she does. It makes her an accomplice to his crimes for enabling him to continue.

Kucinich is laying this all out in such a way that not only should Bush be impeached, but tried and imprisoned for a long, long time.

For God’s sake.. Clinton was impeached for lying about consensual sex in his office. I think this is a bit worse than that..

  • 8 OTHER SECRET OPINION FROM THE OFFICE OF LEGAL COUNSEL ARE NOW KNOW BUT THE TRUE NUMBER IS MUCH HIGHER AND UNKNOWN.

  • WOW! Now I know where the cool kids hang out!

Zooey, found you while still searching for Kucinich’s articles 2 – 6

  • I’ll listen more closely Zooey.

  • OK, I’m lost. Which article? On what? Illegal wiretapping?

  • ABOUT FISA BUT CONFUSING.

HI SPENCERSMOM. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.

  • Thanks, spencersmom. Welcome!

there’s a link to a Raw Story thing above. 2-6 might be there…

  • Article 23: Violation of posse comitatus

  • Posse Comatatus, YES! Yes, yes, yes!!

  • Article 23: Violation of the posse comitatus act

  • We’re still on “creating laws” article

Here’s how it all began (per Raw Story)

Resolved,” Kucinich then began, “that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate. …

“In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power…”

  • Appropriating the use of the military for law enforcement.

  • This kid is 67. So is his spouse.

  • Thanks, spencersmom! I’ve been trying to pick up that paragraph!

  • ARTICLE 23, POSSE COMMITATUS ACT. ESTABLISHED PROGRAMS FOR THE USE OF THE MILITARY IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. MUST BE AUTHORIZED BY THE CONSTITUTION OF THE CONGRESS SO THAT THE MILTARY CANNOT BECOME A NATIONAL POLICE FORCE.

  • Damn! He’s speaking so quickly!

National guard troops deplayed to Mexican border. 6000 troops to do surveillance, etc. and report to Border Patrol. Naughty…

  • BUSH HAS USED MILITARY FORCE ON THE US BORDER PATROL AND ON SURVEILLANCE AND TO COLLECT INTELLIGENCE ON CIVILIANS AND CENTPRO. 2006 TROOPS WERE ORDER TO THE BORDER BETWEEN MEXICO AND WERE TO DO SURVEILLANCE AND GIVE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO THE BORDER PATROL AND COLLECT INTELLIGENCE. AIR FORCE EAGLE EYE INSTRUCTS THEM TO GATHER INTELLIGENCE ON CITIZENS.

  • A good (but damned depressing) post from TP:

Don’t start turning cartwheels yet, folks…let’s remember that the vote to impeach the President and the vote to remove him from office are not one and the same. The Republican-majority 105th Congress, after all, succeeded in impeaching Clinton but failed to gather enough votes in order to remove him from office.

As much as I hate to say it, I very much doubt that Bush will be removed from office even if he is successfully impeached (and given how spineless and wishy-washy the majority of Democratic Congresscritters have shown themselves to be, even that is by no means guaranteed).

Let’s remember that even if the House succeeds in impeaching Bush, the next step would involve trial by the Senate — led by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Roberts), the Vice President in his capacity as President of the Senate (Cheney), or the President pro tempore (Byrd).

It seems highly unlikely that Byrd would be permitted to preside at the trial — and does anyone seriously think that there’s even a remote chance of Bush being removed from office by a two-third majority in the Senate, let alone in a trial presided over by either Cheney or Roberts?!?

  • Military personel to CIA and DHS…unchecked power to control entire government.

  • About time someone is baulking at HD51! Unchecked power! COG which no one knows about!

I called EVERY ONE of the elected officials in IL and Feingold in WI and bitched about it.

  • Again, I really believe the point of this exercise is to get it, and keep it, ALL on the Congressional Record. For ALL posterity.

  • MizzJ, the point is that SOMEONE is doing SOMETHING. Right?

  • Article 24: spying no Americans, in violation of Amd 4

  • I would be happy to see the smirk wiped off the chimps face by him being formally charged and subpoenaed. They need to start doing something to stop others from continuing this insanity.

  • Bush aware of FISA law

  • Is CSpan accessible over the ‘net?
    I can’t seem to find it, and I don’t have TV…

You cool kids are doing a great job of this …

Hi spencersmom, welcome, I’m the poster with the backward screen name on TP, Nevar…

  • Series of Bush quotes on topic of spying

  • Here is the link to the statement – http://www.c-span.org/watch/cs_cspan_rm.asp?Cat=TV&Code=CS . This man might go on forever, but the truth continues.

  • Yes. But look at Darryll (and his brother and other brother). The goopers made impeachment a political thing, just like everything else is political. It will be spun by the O’Hannishits of the world as just that.

I am totally supporting him and this. And I will be on the phone to all my elected officials tomorrow, but reality and all….

    Contact your congress critter:

    http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/

  • Bush repeatedly authrized taps on americans without warrants.

  • Secretly authorized illegal wiretapping without a court approved warrant according to federal officials.

  • Raven, I am an idiot. I didn’t know that was you. :)

  • Good blogging all…Didn’t Kucinich already submit article’s of impeachment on cheney.? Wonder how that work’s..First come, first served and on fast forward please…..KUCINICH NEVER FAIL’S TO AMAZE ME…Blessings all

  • Happy to help, Zooey! Isn’t this kind of mindblowing?

Here’s the “closing paragraph” to each article:

“In all of these actions and decisions, President George W. Bush has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and commander in chief and subversive of constitutional government to the prejudice and the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States wherefore President George W. Bush by such conduct is guilty of an impeachable offense warranting removal from office.”

  • Even if impeachment itself does not succeed, simply clipping Bush/Cheney for the rest of their time in office may prevent them from wreaking further havoc.

  • Walt, I’m not sure that link works.

Raven, I’ll try to find the cspan link.

  • Spying on communications between citizens inside the country. AT&T technician testified that he had created a splitter to deliver intel.

  • Raven, from your keyboard….

If it stops these people from nuking Iran it will be worth everything!

We do not need a nuclear WW3!

  • Wow, Kucinich is doing a beautiful job of laying out all of that facts with quotes and dates. with references to where Bush was when he said it.

    This is great.

  • Raven, it won’t come up on this computer, but try c-span.org

Posse Comatatus, YES! Yes, yes, yes!!

    Hope this finds you well
    We should talk!!!!

  • This is excellent. He is not just making accusations, he is referencing everything. Tedious, but exceptionally thorough.

  • Shit, they’ll bomb Iran and create worldwide havoc to keep people from paying attention to what they’ve done. Only if they’re arrested will they stop.

  • Jeebus, dbadass. This is not the time or the place!

  • Sure, Yenta wants to make sure she gets her cut.

  • Sure, Sure, Sure…

  • That was Windows Media.

    Here’s there Real Player link…

    http://www.c-span.org/watch/cs_cspan_rm.asp?Cat=TV&Code=CS

  • I love it that he’s detailing time, dates and places.

  • He’s putting forth so much evidence and so many opinions that it negligence for congress not to act.

  • I feel like he is repeating everything we have been telling the trolls all these years.

  • I’m going to mention this to my dad in the morning, and he’s going to say “huh?”

  • You guys wanna see something hilarious?

  • And the trolls have had their fingers in their ears screaming I don’t hear you.

  • Article 25: directing telecoms to collect information on americans

I think I missed part of that.

  • Illegal and unconstitutional data base on private citizens.

  • Yes, this is very detailed. Kuchinich did a bang up job putting this together.

  • Check out this link.

    http://www.conservapedia.com/Special:Statistics

It shows the top searched/viewed pages at Conservapedia.

  • Kucinich is definitely a wonk. Hillary doesn’t even compare.

  • I doubt if Bush/ Cheney will find anyone in the Pentagon willing to push buttons for them under these circumstances.

The danger is some whacked out Israeli initiative, coordinated with US forces. The Israeli’s could launch an attack, take a few blows in return, and then the U.S. jumps in to the “defense” of Israel’s offense.

  • Heh. The Cons are obsessed with teh gayness, aren’t they?

  • From what I can tell, the order is.

    Homosexuality
    Wikipedia
    Atheism
    Hillary

Heh, republicans, they are so friggin’ funny. They spend more time reading about the stuff they hate. Makes me think they just may be “cursious.”

HAH AH AH AH AH HA A

  • Qwest ceo denied request because it would violate telecommunication act.

  • 26 intent to violate laws with signing statment and violating those laws.

  • Article 26: Announcing intent to violate laws w/signing statements, and then vilating those laws.

  • Is he doing the hard work that the estab middle left can or won’t do? If so I think a push should be made for a cabinet position

  • Violated the laws BEFORE announcing the intent to do so.

  • In 30percent those laws were already violated before the signing statments were signed.

  • Article 27: Failing to comply with congressional subpoenas, and instructing others to do so.

  • 27 failing to comply with congressional subpoenas and telling subordinates not to comply.

  • You know I live to serve, Ms Zoo :)

I wonder…has any of this appeared on Countdown?

  • Thank you, neoke. I don’t know. I was watching Keith when muse put up the notice this was going on. The repeat is on now.

  • I ‘m wired in, thanks folks. Looks like he’s doing well.

  • Guys don’t forget to search for this:

    Dennis Kucinich Impeachment George Bush

    Go to Google, Lycos, Yahoo

THat is how we get this on the radar these days.

  • Yay, Raven! Blog if you can!

  • I totally missed Article 28

  • 28 tampering with free and fair election. Corruption with the administration of justice, no shit.

  • Tampering with elections!

  • OMG, election tampering!?

  • Wow! Just wow!

    Good for him!

He is bringing it all on!

  • False allegations of voter fraud in selected districts, immediately preceding elections. Undermining process.

  • Engaged in the manufacturing of voting irregularities.

  • I am sorry, this guy has the biggest cajones and is one of the most patriotic people I have ever heard speak.

  • He’s going down the list of the fired District Attorneys.
Excellent. They may all be called to testify.

  • He’s reading the names of the USAs dismissed for political reasons.

    Obstruction of justice.

  • I am sorry, this guy has the biggest cajones and is one of the most patriotic people I have ever heard speak.

    Worth repeating!

  • Bolton and Miers! Excellent!

  • Article 29: Conspiracy to violate voting rights act of 1965

  • Hi Raven! Doh… I didn’t realize that was you, backwards, on TP. Seems like a lot of familiar names here!

Has anyone located an archival video online? I’m so anal and I want to KNOW what articles 2 – 6 were? I’ve got article 7 and forward on my DVR, but I missed the beginning!

  • Willy, there’s a link above to c-span — if that’s what you mean.

  • spencersmom, we missed the beginning as well. I’m hoping he’ll post the Articles somewhere when he’s done.

  • You guys wanna see the enemy?

At this link is a story about this.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN0930198820080610

This is the top story on Google.

Read it. It is short. Now look at the bottom. The story is so heavily edited that the editor is listed. I read a lot of articles on Reuters and the editor isn’t normally listed like that.

    Fuck you, Alan Elsner.

  • So let it be written, So let it be done…
At the very least the record will show what he has said
I hope if my strengh of character is every called upon I will be strong.

  • Blackwell — sec of state in OH.

At direction of WH committed unlawful acts in violation of the equal protection clause by failing to protect voting rights of black americans and disenfranchised them by failing to provide an adequate number of voting machines and paper ballots.

  • Going after Blackwell, Sect. of State Ohio, for voting violations in 2004….

  • I’m also loving how Kucinich has tied Cheney to most of these same articles

  • Wow, Spudge. That article says virtually nothing.

  • This is also the top story at Digg, Spudge.

  • voters purged in black areas, not in white areas.

  • He’s getting tired…

  • Want to help keep this great man in office, send him a donation if you can and maybe a note of approval for all he has and is doing for us and our country….Blessings

  • I don’t blame him. My head is killing me.

Talking about thousands of voters being disenfranchsied.

Blackwell is black for fuck’s sake. He betrayed his own people, let alone having betrayed Americans.

  • What the article does say is “He is going against the DLC and he tried it before, so meh.”

Alan Elsner is a republican tool.

  • DoJ, under control of WH brought indictments of voter fraud within days of elections, inorder to affect outcomes, in vilation of their own rules.

    Voter supporession — vote caging.

  • Condi Rice isn’t doing much for people of color around the world either…

  • No kidding, Raven. She’s an embarrassment to the human race.

  • It’s so quiet in the chamber… is Dennis in there alone, just reading this into the record?

If so, shame on the other Dem Reps! He’s been going for 3 1/2 hours already

  • Career attys in the DoJ were prevented from filing lawsuits re disenfranchisement.

    I think.

  • Yes, this man is a machine. I don’t know if I could talk that long.

  • I think he is alone, spencersmom.

    It’s shameful.

  • Withholding from the public a report about disenfranchisement, prior to 2006 elections.

  • Article 30: Misleading congress and american people in an attemtp to destroy medicare.

  • I’m back.. My daughter dropped in, and I stopped to feed her.

The book I’m reading by Mark Crispin Miller talks at length about Blackwell. Its called “Fooled Again”.

  • Lady Z and all, he may be standing alone there but hundred’s of thousand’s of us are with him in spirit and have alway’s been..Our one candle..Blessings

  • I’m here Zooey. Sorry I had to leave for a bit. I have continued to listen.

  • Misled regarding the price of the medicare bill. Out right lied, is more like it.

    Fucker.

  • I’m still here Zooey, but fading fast… all I’m able to do is listen…

  • Actuary threatened with sanctions if he revealed true costs to congress.

  • No Zooey, I am still here :)

  • Zooey, all this is in Shock Doctrine. That stupid Friedman doctrine Chicago School shit.

  • I’m used to typing as I listen, but he speaks too fast — and I’m suffering outrage fatigue.

  • I’m still around, too! Just flipping screens while listening to this incredible man

  • Wow! He included Katrina. God bless him.

  • Article 31: Katrina

  • I’m still here, Z.

  • All of this is just so overwhelming…

  • MizzJ, if you’re of a mind to do your fast typing, I wouldn’t mind. :)

  • Well now this is in the congressional record. If congress chooses to do nothing historians will nail them all to the wall for doing nothing. And Pelosi should be nailed to the top of the cross, metaphorically speaking that is.

  • For a small man, he is a giant amongst his Congressional peers. He deserves the respect and praise of all Americans for his courage, conviction and fortitude.

Nobody else is putting it all on the line to fight for this country and the Constitution. Nobody, except maybe Robert Wexler.

  • FEMA’s top list for 2001

    SF (something)
    something
    Hurricane in NO

  • Wow, they knew what would happen in NO and the president slashed funds and cut budgets when they knew what was imminent.

  • My big giant argument with my dad was over him saying that the budget was cut because the Army Corps of Engineers didn’t ask for the money. Fuck that shit. I’m angry again.

  • It was an opportunity.

  • Z, it IS overwhelming, which is why I’m going crazy not knowing what came between “secret propoganda campaign to manufacture false case for war” and “invading Iraq without declaration of war”.

You gotta know that the “missing” (for now, for us) articles must have been major. Certainly they all dealt with Iraq and crimes related. Wonder if he weaves in Bugliosi’s case for murder?

  • Oh great, now I have to donate to his campaign to make sure he wins. We all should. If we swamped him with donations the other members of congress would notice.

  • As soon as that storm skipped over FL, I was yelling that the entire guld coast needed to be evacuated — and the did NOTHING.

This was a WEEK before it hit NO. They did nothing.

  • He’s on Katrina now and the failures of gross negligence of the administration.

  • You’re right, Shayne.

As soon as I get home, I’m sending money to Obama and Kucinich. I’ll have to dig it out of my sofa.

  • Article 32: Misleading congress and the AM people. Systematically undermining global climate change.

  • Article 32: Misleading congress and american people, systematically undermining efforts to address global climate change.

  • Article 32: Misleading congress and American people systematically undermining efforts to address global climate change

  • Article 2, Section 3: Personally and through subordinates including the VP, for not protecting property of people vis a vis global climate change thru deception.

  • I’m not amazed or over whelmed by what these people have done, been reading and watching it unfold as it all happened…

I’m not suprised that Kucinich did all of this, he is a man of honor and I have been reading his speeche’s and watching him in the house for year’s…

Gonna send off another little check to his campaign again tomorrow….Have a good evening all…Blessings

  • LOL

You wanted me to take over. :D

  • Oh crap, the wi fi connection is slowing down again…

  • Destabilizing geopolitical skirmishes due to climate change and the ability of key resources like water.

  • I appreciate any help, MizzJ!

  • Criminal neglect. Wow.

  • Failure to ratify Kyoto.

  • I’m not much help. I have to leave for a few minutes. I don’t want to miss this..

  • I’m getting slap-happy, but I refuse to go to bed before this man is done. If he can stay up, I can, too.

Having said that, I’m starting to guess what the remaining three articles will be. How about manipulating the oil markets? What about misuse of taxpayer funds with respect to Bear Sterns?

  • Threatening dissenters.

  • 294 edits of policy to emphasis uncertainty re climate change.

Sorry wi fi went down for a minute. Front desk thinks I’m nuts….

  • EPA could only release reports if approved by a Bush shill.

Bush admin has engaged in a systematic effort to deceive about climate change.

    Lobbyists as head of commissions.

Editing reports – 294 edits by a lobbyist to add data which called into question the facts by muddying them. Or deminishing scientific findings.

  • How about 9/11? Failure to disclose information, failure to act on intelligence to prevent the attack, failure to protect the emergency and site clean up workers from hazardous materials?

Did he address the Patriot Act? The wasteful spending at Homeland Security?

See? I may be awake but I’m already moving into a dream state

  • They fuck with SCIENTIFIC findings for political reasons. Jesus christ…

  • Pressure to change EPA scientific findings. Bush acted against his trust to his position.

Manifest injury to the country. Guilty of impeachable offense warranting removal.

  • Article 33: Repeatedly ignored warnings of planned attack on the US while in office.

  • Article 33: Failing to head warnings of the lead up to 9.11.

  • Article 33: Repeatedly ignored and failed to respond to high level intelligence warnings of planned terrorist attacks in U.S. prior to 9/11

  • I know he questions everything surrounding 9/11, but if there is any hope of getting action on this, he has to stick to things well documented that Congress can get behind.

I can’t believe he has been talking for over 4 hours now without stopping.

  • Failed.

The definitive word describing this presidency.

  • Failed to take steps to protect the nation.

  • Made light of Clark’s concerns.

    Hell, he’s only the EXPERT.

  • nwmuse, I hear what you’re saying, but he’s only presenting actual, documented facts. step-by-step

  • Clark warned the president in daily briefings of the threat. Clark was unable to conviene a cabinet level position.

Tenet met with the president 40 times to warn of threat.

Still no meetings of top officials.

  • Tenet met with Bush 40 times to warn of attacks.

  • I wonder if he has a big one to lob out at the end…
This is pretty serious, unheeded advise about terrorist attacks….

  • The ONLY meeting prior to 9/11 was on 9/4.

Bin Laden determined to strike within the US.

who among us doesn’t have those words burned into our brains?

  • PDR entitled Bin Laden determined to strike in US.

    Including hijacking of aircraft.

Included FBI patterns of specific intel consistant with preparations of hijackings. (I didn’t know that!)

Also noted CIA and FBI intel of group of AQ planning from a middle east embassy.

  • Zooey, they knew. They knew it was coming and they used it to their advantage. They let it happen. Sorry, but there is no way around that one.
And that is the good case scenario. The downside is the possibility of them having setup and planned the entire thing.

  • that PDB, coupled with the admin’s inaction, is to me, at best, criminally negligent homicide

too much brush to be cleared

  • There is an overload on his website right now that the server is unable to handle.

  • Raven, I’m wracking my brain to figure out what the missing Articles could be about!

He’s backing up a cement truck on this clusterfuck.

  • That’s good news, Shayne.

  • Wow. I am totally blown away by this.

  • Article 34: Obstruction into the investigation of 9/11

  • Article 34: Not investigating the attacks of 9/11.

  • 34 obstruction of investigation of the acts of 9/11! Willy, where are you.

  • Colin Powell forced to renege on his promise for white paper on 9/11.

Forced to eat his damned words.

    fuck him.

  • This is killing me. I can’t believe this.

I hope with all my living breath that this impeachment goes through.

  • Tenet never talked to bush in August? Lie!

  • He is too good to have to run for VP. He needs a high level cabinet position.

  • You’ve covered your asses.

He should be shot for that.

  • Cheney warned Dachle that admin official would not show up for investigation into 9/11

  • Tenet said he had briefed Bush.

Bush played down the first meeting.

    Tenet met again with Bush.

Captured in a photo with Miers holding a PDR.

Said: Alright, you’ve covered your ass now.

Tenet says: A few weeks after the PDR, I followed up with Bush to ensure he was fully informed, Bush then said, yes, we piled new nominees and went up the canyon.

Cheney warned that if congress went on with investigation, people wouldn’t show up. Then they went to a joint investigation which started: the presidents knowledge of this is classified, even though it has been previously declassified.

    WTF?

  • The 9/11 Commission was established over a year after 9/11? I didn’t know that much time had gone by.

  • Commission made repeated requests for information and had been told falsely by top CIA officials that everything had been made available.

  • I’m guessing that those earlier articles included lying to the U.N., lying in the SOTU address, lying about pursuing diplomatic options, lying to Congress about the intent of the war powers authority resolution, the criminality of war planning, post-combat Iraqi security, Abu Gareb, failure to pursue bin Laden, among other things I’m missing.

  • Zooey, you don’t remember how hard they fought against anyone looking into anything? They were FORCED into the commission because of the Jersey Widows and the fight they fought.

  • Article 35: endangering the health of 9/11 first responders

  • Endangering the health of 9/11 first responders.

  • The internet is slow tonight. I hope it’s everybody finding out about articles of impeachment.

  • endangered first responders and those who live there.

EPA report includes: when EPA made announcement that the air was safe to breathe, it didnt have the data to support it.

  • Told to delete cautionary statements by the EPA

  • muse, I remember the hard fight, but I didn’t remember just how much timehad gone by.

  • No press release would be issued 3-4 weeks after 9/11 without approval by WH.

All data filtered. Experts in WMD had coordinating role (no scientists??)

  • They had their hands in EVERYTHING. Manipulating — and causing actual harm on a massive scale to Americans.

  • This is absolutely amazing.

I can’t remember being so depressed in my life.

  • The Wolverine

    Thanks for the blogging =)

Had to run to practice, so missed from #20

  • I’d never heard that, MizzJ. Experts in WMD? WTF?

Why not regular scientists as well?

  • Because scientists would know how bad the air was and how much danger the first responders and those who live there would be in.

  • Everyone had to keep shopping!

  • It had to go through National Security Council first.. Unbelievable. Those buildings were filled with asbestos. Cleanup was going to be over 1 billion dollars. At the time, Cheney was lobbying like crazy, spending TONS of money, lobbying Congress to cap asbestos claims to protect specific corporations. Someone who was fighting that, on behalf of those poisoned by asbestos was Paul Wellstone..

  • Wayne, did you see #1-7?

  • Also, remember that Guliani called off the search for human remains immediately after finding the gold at WTC. That single act was what pushed the Jersey Girls over the edge, and they set out to demand a full, complete investigation. Given the closed door policy of this admin, the 9/11 commission was the most indepth investigation that has even been conducted on this admin, and it was flawed and shallow at best

  • Two days for consideration.

  • Question of privilege. I’m not understanding that.

Damn, it’s like he never did anything.

  • House adjourning.

  • I only wish I could have been there to give Kucinich a standing ovation…

  • Me too, spencersmom.

BTW, do you have a son named Spencer? :)

  • The Wolverine

Zooey: Wayne, did you see #1-7?

“Article 1 – Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq.”

    trying to find 2 – 7

  • Thanks Zooey! I’ll come back and visit again!

  • Me too spencersmom.

They start discussion at 9AM EST. I am setting my alarm and getting up. (6AM here)

  • Now they are talking about the war funding bill.

Goddamnit, they are fucking caving again!

  • Great work, everyone.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • Z, why would you think that????

I thought I was incognito! Yes, a 2nd grader and yes, named Spencer

  • I think it’s funny that Kucinich made those wankers wait 5 hours to talk about the war funding.

  • They are going to cave on all of it.

Veterans benefits. Unemployment extensions. All of it.

  • spencersmom,

I’m almost psychic that way. ;)

Second grader! They’re still adorable then. I don’t know how my kids got so old.

  • Me too, spencersmom.

BTW, do you have a son named Spencer? – Z

You’re acting like a blond, and I should know. I live with two of them spencersmom.

  • I just don’t understand it, MizzJ.

Five hours of impeachment — listing it all so we feel sick — and STILL they cave.

I want to flush them all down the drain.

  • By the time they’re 13 they lose the adorable and have perfected the eye roll.

  • Do we know they’ve caved already or are we surmising?

  • I was being clever, Shayne — nothing like a blond.

  • It’s all on Youtube.

  • Past behavior indicates future behavior, I guess.

  • Shayne, the lady talking on CSPAN said they already pulled out the domestic stuff and would probably cave on the GI Bill.

It’s in the senate and has to go back to the house.

  • I don’t know about veteran benefits.

I am following it closely anyway. That’s my next blog entry.

  • Hey, pajaritas. Gotta link?

  • The Wolverine

Bah, no one has more than a rough transcript of #1 yet that I can find.

Should be able to get the full text from Thomas tomorrow or Wed., since this has been presented on the floor now.

  • alright fill me in what happened

  • Are you kidding, Willy? My head hurts enough.

We’re missing #1-7. The rest is here. Not a lot of detail, but I think we got what each of the articles are about.

  • Yes, it will be on Thomas within a couple of days.

Thomas is your best friend. :-)

HR2642 if you want to follow it for the war funding.

  • hello? I saw you posting and I watched the last few articles, but what happened? Do you know why he presented today?

  • Thank you for looking, Wayne. I’m guessing it will be posted somewhere by tomorrow.

  • why today? anyone know? MSNBC and CNN are doing nothing about it

  • I am guessing it must have something to do with the fact that Scott McClellan will be giving testimony to the House Judiciary (?) on June 20th. He was WH spokesman during that first part of the Administration and may have a lot to say. This is a great lead-in.

  • The Wolverine

Zooey: We’re missing #1-7. The rest is here.

    2 – 7
#1 – Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq.

  • Oops, sorry Wayne. I think you posted that before.

  • muse, he must have been preparing these for quite some time, don’t you think?

  • Ugh. My right click button stopped working.

  • How did they get that Wikipedia entry up that fast? That is a LONG entry.

    I am impressed.

  • Oh yes. He was VERY thorough and WELL prepared and referenced. But unexpected.. Everyone knew ahead of time that he was going to introduce articles of impeachment against Cheney. This was different.

This was a WHOLE lot more powerful and in depth.

  • The Wolverine

    Jeez, the AP story…. sucks
Another day of bloggers reporting better than “journalists” =P

  • There is so much… I am just so overwhelmed to hear it all lined up at once.
    A bit surreal actually..
This is just so very wrong on so many levels.

  • MsJ, link? (Wikipedia)

  • Above is the link.

  • Willy, sorry I missed your comment.

I don’ tknow why today, I’ve heard nothing. It might have something to do with what muse said about scotty testifying.

It’s coming through in bits and pieces on YouTube. I’ve got the whole thing on DVR but I lack the necessary skills *hack* to retrieve the video to Windows.

  • The comments on the TP thread just petered out. I’m hoping everyone was riveted by Dennis, but they probably just got bored. Maybe?

  • Thanks MsJ. It IS really thorough. Wow!
You know they had to have this prepared and ready to put up. Wonderful work.

  • I am definitely writing letters in the morning.

  • Nothing on MSNBC, CNN, ABC, or Fox (no surprise there).

Elizabeth Hasselbeck says Obama isn’t that brilliant.

    OY!

  • Doesn’t she also believe the world is only 2000 years old..?

  • Heh.

If anyone got smart with Elizabeth Hasselbeck, how would she know?

  • Elizabeth Hasselbeck, didn’t she get “discovered” on Survivor?

  • Oh and she’s married to an out of work NFL quarterback rated 116 out of 117 quarterbacks. I guess she’d know about being not that brilliant.

  • Well, I am going to knock off for tonight. I’ll set my alarm. ;-)

  • I thought that was her brother, Shayne. I don’t know where I heard that.

  • Thanks, muse. I’ll try to get up as well.

    Sleep well.

  • Tom Brokaw was on Lettermen and Lettermen said something like if we can’t impeach W can’t we at least get our money back. And Brokaw never brought up the Articles of Impeachment issue he said something like, “That’s what we have elections for.” What a jerk.

  • Brokaw as water carrier. Hmmm…

  • I keep looking for the text. I can’t find it anywhere yet.

  • It must be in the congressional record by tomorrow, I would think.

  • CBS news:

(The Politico) Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President Bush on Monday night, reading the resolution into the Congressional Record.

Kucinich, who unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination this year, unveiled a litany of alleged illegal and improper acts by Bush, including war crimes.

Kucinich has introduced a similar impeachment resolution against Vice President Cheney. That resolution was referred to the House Judiciary Committee, which has taken no action on the measure. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top House Democratic leaders have stated that there will be no consideration of impeachment proceedings against Bush, calling the idea “off the table.”

Kucinich and other liberal Democrats, including Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.), have sought the removal of the current administration, arguing that Bush and Cheney have lied to Congress and the American public about the reasons for invading Iraq in 2003 and abused their offices in order to conduct the “War on Terror” following the 9/11 attacks.

Only think I found on the corporate media sites.

  • It’s almost a “sour grapes” type of article, isn’t it?

    “liberal Democrats” Oy…

  • This is from upi.com. Almost same wording but no “liberal democrats” bullshit.

WASHINGTON, June 9 (UPI) — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush in the U.S. House of Representatives Monday night.

Kucinich read into the Congressional Record a litany of alleged illegal and improper acts on the part of the president, The Politico reported.

Kucinich has previously introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney. That resolution has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee, which has taken no action on it, Politico said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and other leading House Democrats have said Congress will not pursue impeachment of Bush. During the 2006 election campaign, Pelosi told CBS’ “60 Minutes” impeachment was “off the table.”

Kucinich and others in Congress — including Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Fla. — have pressed for impeachment of Bush and Cheney, accusing the administration of multiple offenses, including lying to Congress and the public about its reasons for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

  • Remember when this would have been actual news, MizzJ?

  • Well, let me say this…it’s a good thing we have COMEDY CENTRAL to provide us with news.

Jon Stewart will be all over this (as will Countdown). Who knows about anyone else. Thankfully, TDS has a big following.

What kind of crazy world is this when we have to get news from Comedy Central?

  • Jon just did a bit about the report concerning lying us into war.

You have to post it tomorrow. Funny, Cooties!

  • It’s really quite insane. I wonder what things would be like if we didn’t have Jon and Keith?

My head is splitting. I better try to get some sleep.

Thank you for helping out so much, MizzJ. I really appreciate it. :)

  • My pleasure. Night night.

  • Briseadh na Faire

Wow, looks like it’s been a good night for all. so much I had to scroll to the bottom. thanks all for the postings.

  • Briseadh na Faire

As of this writing, no mention on CNN.com.

  • Briseadh na Faire

    Not on Foxnews.com, either.

Well, at least one MainStreamMedia thought this story was newsworthy enough to list on its website!

  • Wow – I missed all this

  • Good morning all!

Finally, the link to Kucinich’s full document!

  • Wow!!

    Thank you Wayne & spencersmom!

    You’re the greatest!

  • exitstageleft

Still nothing in the corporate fascist media.

  • But Jack, what about the TOMATOES!!!???

  • There is more news chatter about this across the pond than here in the US. What is wrong with this paparazzi press? They smell out Britney Spears and don’t give a crap about our Constitution. We all need to bombard Nancy Pelosi’s office with phone calls and emails. If you are not in her district then you need to use the Speaker of the House connection.

  • Do we have the link for that Cats? (Speaker of the House)

  • Yeah, CBS reported it but look at how they reported it. I posted the text above but they state:

CBS: Kucinich and other liberal Democrats, including Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.), have sought the removal of the current administration, arguing that Bush and Cheney have lied to Congress and the American public about the reasons for invading Iraq in 2003 and abused their offices in order to conduct the “War on Terror” following the 9/11 attacks.

    Compared to:

UPI:Kucinich and others in Congress — including Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Fla. — have pressed for impeachment of Bush and Cheney, accusing the administration of multiple offenses, including lying to Congress and the public about its reasons for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

I called and left a message and also sent an email. Yesterday, I contacted my House Representative, Tim Holden. We need to bombard these people, everyday until the DO SOMETHING.

Lord knows that last year I kept quiet about impeachment because I knew that it would have been a waste of energy. Now the time is right for impeachment. It will distract Bush during his last days in office. Anything to keep him and his lawyers busy trying to patch holes and stop leaks.

  • Crap, that didnt come out.

    From UPI:

    Kucinich and others in Congress
    — including Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Fla. — have pressed for impeachment of Bush and Cheney, accusing the administration of multiple offenses, including lying to Congress and the public about its reasons for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

    No LIBERAL democrats.

  • It’s imperative that we contact Nancy Pelosi. She has 2 days to make a decision and this is probably why the press isn’t talking about this.

  • I called Pelosi and my Buck coxucker Rep. Kirk.

    Both are useless.

  • screenshots from the MSM (and Huffpo) and none of them are covering it.
