In a surprising (not) development today, Karl Rove ignored a subpoena to testify before the House Judiciary Committee, and as a super-duper fuck you — he left the country. His attorney said this trip was planned long before the hearing date today — it’s just that no one mentioned it until now. Uh huh…
Rove has claimed Executive Privilege as a reason for blowing off the subpoena, but funny story — good buddy George W. Bush has not invoked Executive Privilege in regard to MC Rove. Oops! And, one might note, Rove no longer works for the White House, so EP is a little tricky.
The Committee has given Rove five days to comply with the subpoena, but probably won’t get around to voting on contempt until later this month. The Congress has become quite adept at waving a dull sword. Hell, if they’re lucky, by the end of the month there might be a missing white girl or Britney snatch sighting. Rollover and hit the snooze button America…
Gee, I hope Karl took his laptop and Blackberry out of the country with him. Customs and Immigration might have a teeny peek inside.
Go here, to send Linda Sanchez (D-CA), chairman of the Commercial and Administrative Law subcommittee, a polite note about her five or twenty days’ wait for the contempt vote against Rove.

Well, if traitor Rove took the laptop with him then all his correspondence will now be gathered by the Government. Wonder what Obama could do with the data collected from traitor Rove. Maybe Congress can take a peek at his electronic records.

Suppose ol’ Karl was expecting a close encounter with the Sargent-at-arms from the House – knocking at his door?

Thom Hartmann said this morning that they needed to subpoena Bill Canary (sp?), and bring him in and put him under oath. He seemed to believe Canary would roll on Karl.
