According to an ABC News interview, Sarah Palin is fully prepared to go to war with Russia!!
When asked by Gibson if under the NATO treaty, the U.S. would have to go to war if Russia again invaded Georgia, Palin responded: “Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you’re going to be expected to be called upon and help.
“And we’ve got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable.”
Asked about Putin, she said Russia is not entitled to control the flow of energy supplies coming from or through their own country.
“His mission, if it is to control energy supplies, also, coming from and through Russia, that’s a dangerous position for our world to be in, if we were to allow that to happen.”
She also flip-flopped her quote suggesting the US is on a mission from God, instead attempting to make it sound as if she was quoting Abraham Lincoln. Problem is, the Lincoln quote says nothing remotely similar to what Palin said – in fact it says the opposite.
Palin defended a previous statement in which she reportedly characterized the war in Iraq as “task from God”.
Gibson quoted her as saying: “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.”
But Palin said she was referencing a famous quote by Abraham Lincoln.
“I would never presume to know God’s will or to speak God’s words. But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that’s a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.”
President Palin. It could happen.

We could very well be living in the End Times when you have someone who believes in it and then goes on to attack (verbally, thus far) Russia; a country with enough nukes – and capability – to take out a few major US cities.
My head is spinning.
She hopes we’re on the right side of god.
That’s swell. Just swell.

From HuffPo:
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Be ready to take up arms if necessary, and not for Spiritual Warfare.

Jeremy Wright is obnoxious, but he doesn’t scare me.
These people, though…

I’m with ya, darlin’, believe me.
I watched her snarl at the RNC and she reminded me of Cheney.
I watched her lie at the RNC and she reminded me of Bush.
Now we hear her call claims of Executive Privilege and refusal to turn over emails and it reminds me of Rove.
She is known for making up her mind and to hell with anyone whose thoughts differ, again very Bush-like.
She is known to be manipulative and vindictive. I don’t want that in our leaders any longer.
I fear for the women of this country if this one gets in. She is all about what’s good for the goose and screw the gander.
And her thoughts on god are beyond frightening. While I have an unrealistic dream of NO religion in our political discourse, this level of religiousity is beyond reason and unacceptable, but when you put it all together, it’s terrifying.

OMG – he didn’t even need to ask hardball questions for her to make a complete fool of herself with these answers. She must have forgot or she was somewhere else mentally that the US attacked a small, democratic nation unprovoked.

After this interview, the GOP is going to have to put her back in the box.

Gee, that’s comforting to hear

This from TPM:
“Forget war with Russia. The real news from Charlie Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin is this stretch, where she is clearly clueless about what the Bush Doctrine is…”
(The video isn’t working).

Cats, it’s a bit much to describe Saddam’s Iraq as a democracy. Of course, this is precisely why the GOP uses that qualifier when it talks about what Russia is doing. It’s ok to attack, invade, and occupy a country that is not a democracy, even if it doesn’t pose an immediate threat to the aggressor.
I wonder how they would react if Russia were to invade a small non-democracy. Like, say, Afghanistan in 1979. One must assume that the GOP was supportive of Russia’s actions back then… well, maybe not.
