“If the public option plan is in there, as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote because I believe debt can break America and send us into a recession that’s worse than the one we’re fighting our way out of today. If in 2016, they will begin reaching voting age, as “the largest generational voting block in the country”, won’t they be starting to work and helping to stabilize Social Security with their payments into it? I think this will be the case, thus Generation Us Old Farts, owe them to at least “repave the roads, rebuild the bridges, and plow the fields” in anticipation of their arrival. If we are going to retire “on their dime”, it is our duty. Now I’M tearing up, and it’s not the cough syrup.

I think they can do it.
I hope we let them.

From some of the videos of McCain supporters, it looks like many of them will actually self-implode on election day, so hopefully they won’t be around in 2016 to stand in the way of the progress these young Americans are looking forward to.
I hope we are seeing the crazed death throes of the second batch of Neanderthals and that we are embarking on a future where the embracing of ancient superstitions and sheer ignorance are no longer virtues.
Peace to you all.

2016 is when the youngest of the Millenials will reach voting age. Many of the oldest are voting for the first time right now. Their voice is hard to measure in pre-election polls, but will be thunderous in post-election results. The video is powerful, compelling, and inspiring.
