With the casualty count heavily in the Israeli favor, the Israeli cabinet is set to back an end to military activities in the Gaza Strip.

There is much talk of a unilateral cease-fire occuring shortly before Obama takes office. For its part Hamas is insisting Israel pull out of Gaza and lift their blockade.
