A New Threat

A poster on TP identified himself as “Johnny Daring, Oath Keeper.”

So, who are Oath Keepers, anyway?

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, peace officers, and firefighters who will fulfill the oath we swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and we will not obey unconstitutional (and thus illegal) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law and deprive them of their ancient right to jury trial.

We Oath Keepers have drawn a line in the sand. We will not “just follow orders.”

Our motto is “Not on our watch!”

Note, please that this “non-partisan” group of currently serving military did not rise up against Bush’s illegal invasion of two countries. No “Oath Keeper” has refused to follow any order related to those wars.

Perhaps this is why:

Stewart is the founder and Director of Oath Keepers. He served as a U.S. Army paratrooper until disabled in a rough terrain parachuting accident during a night jump.

He is a former firearms instructor and former member of Rep. Ron Paul’s DC staff.

What does this mean? If Teabaggers riot, “Oath Keepers,” currently serving military and police, will refuse to follow a lawful order instituting martial law.

What Happens if Health Care Reform Dies?

CNN.com posted an article with the above headline, but the article never did answer its own question.

However, Anthem/Blue Cross in California already gave us that answer. When Republicans gained their 41-vote supermajority in the Senate, the Health Insurance Company smacked Californians with a 39% rate increase.

If Health Care Reform dies, those who get sick will see their coverage cancelled or rescinded, or be priced out of being able to continue to pay for their health insurance. Those who are healthy will continue to see double-digit increases in their premiums, accompanied with increases in their deductables and co-pays. Those pushed out of having health insurance will rely upon the taxpayer, one way or another.

If Health Care Reform Dies now, nothing will change. The rich will continue to get richer; the poor will continue to get poorer. Republicans will continue to obstruct anything that deviates from the above outcome. Tens of thousands of Americans will die each year from lack of adequate health care, in this, the richest country in the world.

As always, your thoughts are welcome.

Tea Partiers Ready to Kill to Prevent Millions from Getting Health Care

HT ThinkProgress.

“Warning: If Brown can’t stop it, a Browning can”

That was one of the signs at the “Code Red” rally against health care reform sponsored by Tea Party organizations. The ruling class has succeeded in whipping up a cult following to resort to violence to protect the interests of the very, very wealthy.

If the anger of the Tea Partiers is ever directed at the true culprits who have co-opted and destroyed our democracy, the lives of virtually everyone on Forbes Fortune 500 would be in jeopardy.

The anger and hate in the air has been palpable all day today. The ruling class would like nothing more than to see the summer of 2010 marred by riots that would make the 60′s look tame by comparison.

Let’s face it, the ruling class’s greatest threat comes from progressives and liberals. It is thus in their best interest to whip up their cult followers into a murderous frenzy and turn the mob loose.

I wonder if there will be riots tomorrow should the health care reform bill pass.

This much is certain: If someone tries and/or succeeds in assassinating a lawmaker who voted in favor of health care reform, the talking heads on Fox News will laud that person as a hero.

Drinkin’ the purple kool-aid

“Kill the bill!  Kill the bill!!”

Whatever’s in the bill, they’re against it.  They can’t point out the terrible things in the bill — euthanasia, rationing, government take over, etc — but DAMMIT they are against it!

Daily Kos

UPDATE:  Disgusting teabaggers shout the word “nigger” at black members of Congress.  What does a congressman’s ethnicity have to do with the health care reform issue?  I’m sure the teabaggers can explain that as well as they explain why they don’t like the HCR bill.

Health Care Reform Passes! Both Houses of Congress Override Veto!

Dateline: March 20, 2011.

Acting swiftly on their promise to undo ObamaCare last year, the Republican super majority in both Houses of Congress voted to override President Obama’s veto of their HealthCare Reform.

Health insurance company stocks rebounded overnight, with many companies doubling in value at the close of trading today. The Frisk/Boehner Health Care Reform Act removed all Federal Regulation of not only health insurance, but the entire health care provider industry. Using the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution, Frisk/Boehner also prevents States from regulating health care or health care insurance.

Tort Reform, a central piece of the Republican legislation, is now the law of the land nationwide. Literally hundreds of medical malpractice lawsuits were stopped dead in their tracks as doctors, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and health insurance companies were granted blanket immunity from such suits, effective immediately.

The Watering Hole: March 20 – General Relativity

In 1916, Albert Einstein promoted General Relativity as the lead warrior in eliminating inconsistencies in Newtonian physics.  One effect that Einstein postulated was gravitation lensing which is dramatically demonstrated in the shot below:

Gravitational Lens - One Object Appears as Four

This theory links mass and energy as well as pseudo energy, i.e.; gravity which seems to be a dimension onto itself. Defining gravity is one of the key issues in the unified theory. Newton knew its effects, it is still not explained. There is more to be observed here.

The Watering Hole: March 19 – Albert Speer

Albert Speer was born on March 19, 1905. It was on March 19, 1945 that he defied Hitler’s “Nero Decree” which was intended to deliver a scorched German Nation to the soon-to-be victorious Allies.

Albert Speer

While Speer did not provide an admirable life-model, this refusal allowed the German nation to recover in the post war period and in all probability adverted the path to a third world war. He also did not shirk from admitting his complacency and guilt in the NAZI movement even following 20 years in prison after the Nuremberg trials. Unlike Republicans, he did not place his party above his nation.

The Watering Hole: March 17 – St. Pat’s

Aye, it is time to celebrate the opening of the new season! The shamrock is on the land.

My better half is half Irish. Time for a little mirth:

Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and asks the first man he meets, ‘Do you want to go to heaven?’

The man said, ‘I do, Father..’

The priest said, ‘Then stand over there against the wall.’

Then the priest asked the second man, ‘Do you want to go to heaven?’

‘Certainly, Father,’ the man replied.

‘Then stand over there against the wall,’ said the priest.

Then Father Murphy walked up to O’Toole and asked, ‘Do you want to go to heaven?’

O’Toole said, ‘No, I don’t Father.’

The priest said, ‘I don’t believe this.   You mean to tell me that when you die you don’t want to go to heaven?’

O’Toole said, ‘Oh, when I die, yes.   I thought you were getting a group together to go right now.’

For a real groaner, look below the fold:

The Watering Hole: March 16 – Sam Houston

What few Texans refuse to acknowledge is that Sam Houston, the hero of San Jacinta (Jacento?)  in a battle that lasted but 18 minutes, was removed as governor of Texas on this date in 1861 when he refused to join the Confederacy.

Surrender of Santa Anna to a wounded Sam Houston

Bottom line is that not all Texans are traitors or idiots. One can wonder as to when the city of “Houston” will be renamed to “Bush” or a famous quote will be rephrased - “Bush,  Tranquility Base, the Eagle has landed.”

Sunday Roast: The Human Zoo

The Human Zoo examines the nature of civilized society, especially in the cities. Morris compares the human inhabitants of a city to the animal inhabitants of a zoo, which have their survival needs provided for, but at the cost of living in an unnatural environment. Humans in their cities, and animals in their zoos, both have food and shelter provided for them, and have considerable free time on their hands. But they have to live in an unnatural environment, are both likely to have problems in developing healthy social relationships, both are liable to suffer from isolation and boredom, and both live in a limited amount of physical space. The book explains how the inhabitants of cities and zoos have invented ways to deal with these problems, and the consequences that follow when they fail at dealing with them.

Part 1 of 5 (each about 10 minutes long)

Part 2
