  1. Good Mornin’ . . .

Looks like “grandpa” attracted some great recipes yesterday – look forward to trying a few out.

The weather here is has turned from a lovely shade of gray to a light ‘skeeter rain … perfect day to be inside enjoying paperwork ;)

    I’ll wait for the rainbow . . .

  2. Damp and cool here once again, which is fine since my plan is to work in the kitchen (except for grilling the kabobs). Right now, there is a pair of dark brown eyes staring at me from the floor, reminding me we have a w a l k scheduled.

  3. w a l k completed, and Ralphie is now sitting out on the balcony, watching and sniffing. It’s very quiet right now, without any yapping or barking from neighbor dogs. The goldfinches greedily choking down thistle seeds are making the most noise–oh, and I can hear a squirrel scolding something (probably a cat) off in the distance. I like Sunday mornings around here.

    • Sounds like an excellent morning, gummitch. Now that the students are gone, my weekend mornings are pretty quiet. I love it.

I guess I better go get my stuff done. Laters.

  4. House, I miss your recap/synopsis of the ‘talking heads’ show – so I’m having to slog/gag through MtP. At least on-line I can fast forward.

Have the Sharks game on the radio [need to have the 'game callers' be enthused about 'my' team] – and watching it on t.v. (that’s a rarity).

Sunny day – did some gardening with ‘Bonnie’ supervising. She is the ‘sidewalk superintendent’ of the cats: always has to know what’s going on.

  5. A good game but the wrong outcome – oh well, there’s always next year… (the Teal & Black played well, just not well enough for a win).

Off to watch the birds! – maybe the other juvenile will fledge in the day light.
The first fledged, after sunset, on Friday – he’s flying strong, just needs to work on the landings!

  6. 2ebb,

Couldn’t make the morning shows today. Woke up at 2:30am and couldn’t go right back to sleep. Watched a movie about Erwin Rommel, played by James Mason, then watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Went back to sleep about 6:30 and slept late.

Today was Indy 500 Bump Day qualifying, and drama was high for several last minute qualifiers, but four of our ladies are solid in the field. Milka Duno was unable to get the speed out of her car, and failed to make the race for Citgo. Ana Beatriz was the winner of the Fastest Female award yesterday, qualifying 21st, with Simona De Silvestro 22nd, and Danica Patrick 23rd. Sarah Fisher qualified today in the 29th spot. Still a record with four ladies in the field.

Danica Booed After Blaming Crew For Bad Handling Car

Danica Patrick has experienced a new sensation at the Indianapolis 500 – getting booed.

IndyCar’s most popular driver heard fans’ displeasure Saturday when her comments blaming a poor qualifying performance on her car’s setup were broadcast over the racetrack public address system.

To be fair to Danica, I don’t think her fans were the ones booing, but the anti-Danica contingent that resents her popularity.
In the press room after her qualifying attempt she elaborated about her remarks, basically saying that the car had no rear grip. Danica was vindicated later in the day when Andretti Autosport’s number one driver, Tony Kanaan, spun in his qualifying attempt, wrecking his primary car and forcing the team to postpone his attempt until today. His problem? No rear grip. At least she kept it off the wall!

This morning in the backup car, Kanaan again spun, the same way, in the same turn, almost identically, and the team had to thrash to get him a car put together from spares drawn from all the Andretti cars, including parts from Ryan Hunter-Reay’s qualified car, which prevented him from practicing today. Kanaan barely made the field in the final hour, and will start 32nd out of 33.

  7. House, just giving you a bad time so’s ya know I was thinking about you.
Seriously though I do like to read your synopsis of the Sunday shows!

That was a good run down on the qualifying for the 500 – thanks.

  8. I know where I’m going to be two days a year, no matter what, watching the Alabama-Auburn football game and the Indy 500. Sorry about the Sharks, maybe they will be hungry enough to make a run at it next year.

Maybe I’ll be able to watch This Week and MTP online here in a little bit.

There’s a Brooks And Dunn tribute on CBS, that followed 60 Minutes. Those guys are splitting up after 20 years!

Will there be a palimony suit? ;)
