The Watering Hole: Tuesday May 3, As opposed to…
There is this one President who took out a criminal, who had nothing to do with 9/11 by reducing a country to ruins, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians in the process and losing the lives of 4’770 military personnel.
As opposed to the President who took out the criminal, who was actually responsible for 9/11, killing the criminal in the process.
What do you think?

Watering Hole: Monday, May 2, 2011 – Dreams
Some people claim that they never dream while others will say that they dream every night and sometimes in vivid color. Females are more likely to dream in color than males. So what exactly are dreams?
Accumulated observation has shown that dreams are strongly associated with Rapid Eye Movement during which an electroencephalogram EEG shows brain activity to be most like wakefulness. Participant-nonremembered dreams during NREM sleep are normally more mundane in comparison. During a typical lifespan, a person spends a total of about six years dreaming which is about two hours each night. Most dreams only last 5 to 20 minutes. As a result, motor neurons are not stimulated, a condition known as REM atonia. This prevents dreams from resulting in dangerous movements of the body.
There are various theories about the source of dreams. If you want to know more about these theories about dreams, check out this link.
The movie “Inception” is about dreaming and there are many songs about dreams.
Here’s a song from the Louvin Brothers. These two brothers were from northern Alabama and wrote numerous songs. This song appeals to me because of the wonderful harmonies, pleasant melody and meaningful words.

Sunday Roast: After-birthers
A funny thing happened just the other day…some guy known as “The Donald aka Carnival Barker” had his ass handed to him by a sitting U.S. President, via this:
Some say the President shouldn’t have caved to the birthers, but I say the President’s timing was exquisite. He knew that no matter what he did, the true-believers would never come around to sanity or reason, so he waited for the perfect political opportunity to give them what they claimed all along they wanted — the long-form birth certificate — and did it in a way that simultaneously exposed Trump as the venal racist and bully he’s always been AND made Trump the great god and leader of the racist birther teabagger crowd. Well played, sir.
I just love the President’s “can we just get over this tired old bullshit” attitude. He gives the issue all the weight it deserves — NONE.
Josh Marshall has worked up a Taxonomy of Birtherism, and while he’s in the process if tweaking said taxonomy, I think it’s informative and appropriate: Continue reading
