  1. Spudge_Boy,

I went ahead and added your name to the “Categories” list and then tagged this article with your name.

    I hope that’s OK.

  2. We got our first stranger commenting on the Larry Craig post. Keep an eye on him. WordPress marked his comment as “spam” but it seemed OK, so I let it through.

  3. Gregg,

I just had a short peek into the Tygggrrrrr’s website. I have my doubts, could be we are inviting troll traffic if we let him link to us. I will do a more thorough research this evening and let you know.

  4. Mine was not a “hey somebody should check out his site,” it was more like “Whoa, holy fu*king crap, check out his site!”

  5. Spudge_Boy // Aug 30th 2007 at 12:20 pm (edit)

Sure thing. I guess I will need to figure out how to do that.

The theme we are using doesn’t automatically place a byline on your posts, so we have been using the “Categories” tag to identify ourselves (or you can just sign the post). You will find the “Categories” options just to the right of where you compose your posts.

It’s so simple, even Zooey can do it. 😀

  6. Here is some research for everybody.

This is the first three sentences of his latest post.

It only takes them 3 sentences to whip out the “Clinton did it” excuse. I vote no linky.

“The feeding frenzy has begun. A man who has dedicated his life to public service is now watching his career be ruined.

Larry Craig allegedly solicited homosexual sex from an undercover cop posing as a male prostitute. He then tried to use his power as a senator to escape punishment.

Larry Craig did not lie under oath and subvert the constitution. That was Bill Clinton.”

  7. “You better watch your back AND get ready to duck.”

Fortunately I’ve had experience using Minneapolis airport restrooms.

  8. “So, he created the very first porn portrait of George W Bush.”

What’s your source for this statement, Spudge?

  9. I gotta start getting ready for work. I’ll check in again before I leave.

I’m scared to leave the baby (TPZoo) alone for the day.

Please take good care of it while I’m gone.

  10. “You better watch your back AND get ready to duck.”

“Fortunately I’ve had experience using Minneapolis airport restrooms.”

Um, I don’t think Zooey uses the men’s room.

  11. “What’s your source for this statement, Spudge?”

Oh that was just me. Why do you know of other “porn portraits” of Bush (pun ha ha).

  12. could we add

    http://www.welcome-to-pottersville.blogspot.com/

    and

    http://www.docstrangelove.com/

    to our links?

Jurassicpork pops up occasionally at TP and is doing exquisite rants. Here’s one angry dude. He has a tendency to post graphic pictures to underline his meaning, but on the whole I like his blog very much.

Docstrangelove is quite the gentleman. He has a focus on his birthplace Bangladesh but does some very good posts about US politics, too.

  13. wordpress just ate two of my comments. Must have been becaus I used links in the text. I have to figure out how to do it.

I just wanted to know whether it was ok to link Jurassicpork and docstrangelove on the blogroll. Anybody know them?

JP is the angry dude, who does excellent rants and docstrangelove is the gentleman who does well researched insightful posts on politics.

  14. Feel free to add a few links to the Blogroll, Doro.

My main concern with making the Blogroll too cumbersome is that it might slow down the download time for those who only have a dial-up connection.

WP ate one of my comments earlier today as well, when I got tired of waiting for it to upload and closed the window. I hope this won’t be too much of a problem.

We don’t have any filters in place right now except for Askimet, which should help protect us from spam. I think we can disable Askimet if we need to.

  15. Doro,

For some reason Askimet did mark your comments as “spam”. I was able to override this, but I’m not sure why Askimet filtered your comments.

  16. A Republican spokesman said: “This picture is very distasteful. Why would anyone want to make a picture of our President from pornographic material?”

Why not? I don’t get the question. Besides, I do not believe there is such a thing as obscenity. “Obscenity is in the eye of the condemner.” Just because this anonymous Republican didn’t like it does not mean other, more “open-minded” people wouldn’t.

And about this anonymity. I, for one, have been thoroughly disgusted by it in our own CCM (Corporate-Controlled media), but now they’re doing it over there (UK), too, with our politicians? If a politician does not wish to have his or her name attached to a comment, then they shouldn’t make a comment to the press.

Our involvement in Iraq was directly related to anonymous sources. They fed things to the CCM and the CCM published teh comments anonymously. Then those very same people (I’m sure) pointed to the articles and stories in the CCM and said, “Look, even the NYT/WaPo/LAT is saying it.” Only what those papers were saying is what that same person fed them “anonymously.” Personally, in light of what we now know were tons of lies about Iraq, I think that every Washington reporter should go through his or her notes and publish the names of every single anonymous source that gave them information that turned out to be false. Start with Cheney and Rove. What’s the worst that would happen to those reporters? They would no longer have access to people who give them bad information?

I guess I’ll find out how long before my car is fixed. (That’s why I’m here during the day.)

  17. Well, no…I still have a 16th level Half-elf ranger/cleric from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons role playing game.

    BTW, Spudge…you can type “fucking”.

  18. No worries, Doro. I added your links to the Blogroll.

Wayne, those guys really screwed us over with their “anonymous source” routine. “Rovian” has outdone “Orwellian” and “Machiavellian” in its connotations of evil.

  19. Thanks Gregg. It’s quite a kindergarten here, still. But before long we’ll be able to spell and do numbers 😉

    Thanks again

  20. Yes, years of having to deal with TP’s fuck filter has conditioned me to use * and ! and stupid shit.

I know there are some people that don’t approve of cussing, but that is how I grew up. My parents didn’t cuss. It was everybody in school and all my friends around me.

It is just the way I talk and yes, I do it in real life too. I don’t pretend to be somebody different on the Internet. I don’t use my real name, because I am a public figure. I like my job and plan on keeping it. So, I am anonymous….for now.

  21. europeanview // Aug 30th 2007 at 1:48 pm (edit)

As we all can see I was just a tad impatient and spammed the thread. Sorry”

This would be a good opportunity for you to play around. They said we could edit our posts as administrators, you should go in and see if you can fix it.
Also, I think they said something about linking more than one site was a sign of spam so maybe list them under two seperate posts the next time.

  22. I don’t use my real name, because I am a public figure. I like my job and plan on keeping it. So, I am anonymous….for now.
    Spudge_Boy

Gee, I wish I was a public figure (sigh). I’ll explain more some other time.

  23. At last, GWB has something resembling a dick on him.juancristobal // Aug 30th 2007 at 2:30 pm (edit)
    juancristobal // Aug 30th 2007 at 2:30

Why I think he’s had a lot of dicks on him, and in him, behind him, over him and under him.

I can change the number of links a comment can have before it is marked as spam. I will set it at “3” for now, so that a comment can have up to 3 links.

Let me know if I should change it to something else.
