Kucinich: Impeachment!

Dennis Kucinich will be bringing forward Resolution 333 under a ‘privilege’ motion on the floor of the House of Representatives in the next couple of weeks. This resolution is calling for the impeachment of Dick Cheney. In this video, he explains that once he rises and invokes ‘privilege’ of the House in consideration of the bill, he said that someone will rise and move to ‘table’ the bill. That means if it is tabled, the bill is effectively killed. He is encouraging people to call or write their Representatives and tell them to vote AGAINST a motion to table. That would means they would then move on to debate the resolution and take a vote.

The resolution charges that Vice President Cheney:

  1. has purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States by fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, as well as
  2. fabricating a threat about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, in order to justify the use of the U.S. Armed Forces against Iraq in a manner damaging to U.S. national security interests; and
  3. in violation of his constitutional oath and duty, has openly threatened aggression against Iran absent any real threat to the United States, and has done so with the proven U.S. capability to carry out such threats, thus undermining U.S. national security.

This seems like the ONLY opportunity to impeach Dick Cheney. Please contact your Congress members.

  1. There is that old adage called “an exercise in futility” or “shoveling shit against the tide” or “beating a dead horse” or probably a hundred more expressing the same level of exasperation
and desperation. My “Representatives” in Washington are McCain, Kyle, and Trent Franks. Compared to Franks, the first two are the most anti-Bush Senators in Washington. I write to Franks weekly on every vote he has made or will make and he has yet to vote in any way, shape, or form, against the party (to call the Republicans a “party” is the understatement of the year as they should be termed the orgy after all the screwing they have given the rest of the Country) line. I suspect I will be more effective in supporting the Democratic Prayer Meeting Group (They ain’t having much of a party either) next year.

  2. Unfortunately Resolution 333 doesn’t stand much of a chance. Pelosi will use her conciderable influence to get it tabled, and then shot down.

She will do everything she can to use the current situation in the next election cycle.

So she must go first. By declaring that impeachment was “off the table”, she knowingly gave the administration a free hand to further abuse the powers of the office.

I wrote an earlier article describing why she must be removed from the Speakership, and today, I wrote one about how. Please have a look at it and get the word out to as many places as you can.

Copy and paste it; put it up here; I don’t care what you do with it; just help get the word out that she must be replaced with a democratic leader that understands the reasoning behind impeachment and how vital it is to our system of checks and balances.

Kucinich should be given the Medal of Freedom for his courage to stand up for what he knows is right. I am glad you put this up.

  3. sorry to hear about your mood witch.

you can catch Kucinich on-line at the debate backstage in a chat! That should cheer you up!

On Kucinichr.com, Dennis will be broadcasting live backstage from the debate. If your computer can access the internet, you’re one click away from watching and talking to the Congressman and other supporters live

  4. I am convinced that the impeachment option has been tabled for the same reason that the major polls will not ask a simple (maybe a complex or three simple) question(s)s: In your opinion should Congress impeach George W. Bush, if so, should he be removed from office, and if so should criminal charges be brought against him? The politicians are afraid of the answers. If they do not know what their constituents want then they cannot be held responsible for not meeting those desires. If impeachment charges were to be brought to the House and Senate the Pols would be forced to vote ON THE RECORD and thereby be held accountable for that vote by their constituents. You can imagine the quandary these leaches have: “If I vote ‘yes’ and the majority is ‘yes’ then…but….then but…?” You statisticians can figure all the combinations and permutations but anybody can figure out why the Pols don’t want to have to vote.

  5. The rules of the US House of Representative for the 110th Congress provides for the removal of a seated Speaker, during session, for the purposes of preserving the “dignity, and the integrity of its proceedings” under the constitutional prerogative of its function with respect to impeachment. Any member of the House can bring forth a resolution presenting a question of privilege to declare the Speakership vacant based on this provision.

  6. Impeachment is “off the table” because the criminal conspiracy of this administration runs far deeper than anyone would like to see exposed.

That’s a MAJOR pandora’s box. Once you really open that investigation, then start to look at the 27 redacted pages of the Commission Report, and all the little “missing” dollars from the Pentagon (2 trillion announced by Rumsfeld on Sept. 10th 2001), then all kinds of shit is going to hit the fan.

  7. Yep! got the email on it Willyloman, can and will do..

Clyde, right on….When will these dumbasses learn it’s never to late to do what’s right?….The way it’s going winning in 2008 may be a hard sell, enebeler’s and warmonger’s on all side’s make’s for an iffie election at best…..Blessings
