The Failure of Karen Hughes

From Think Progress:

Karen Hughes, ball-washer and sycophant-in-chief for George W. Bush, has resigned from her position as Under Secretary of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs.

Ms. Hughes had been tasked to “sell America’s ideas about democracy and the war on terror around the world.” Having failed miserably, she’s decided to retreat back to Texas having left her staff withthis great wisdom: “improving the world’s view of the United States is a ‘long-term challenge’ that will outlast her.”

Well, we knew that from the beginning, didn’t we?

Buh-bye, Karen.

  1. Ah well Zooey that book was not started by Hughes, but it was finished by her. That book was started by someone else and unfortunately he took veracity a little too much to heart and was fired…

  2. Nope, I couldn’t do that. I managed to read an Ann Coulter (found in the library, not paying for that shit) and I was willing to read O’Reilly if he was willing to send me it for free (he ignored me).

Currently reading Craig Unger ‘House of Bush’ on the bus in the morning. Makes me want to use the ‘c’ word.

  3. “improving the world’s view of the United States is a ‘long-term challenge’ that will outlast her.”

After another 15 months’ of the Bush Administration altering the way America is viewed by the world, her lifetime won’t be enough, mine neither, my kids’ perhaps.
