Senator Biden draws an imaginary line in shifting sands…An Open Letter to Senator Biden

Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) stated unequivocally that he will move to impeach President Bush if he bombs Iran without congressional approval. “The President has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran and if he does, as foreign relations committee chairman, I will move to impeach,” he said.

What, going to war against Iraq based on lies isn’t enough?

Invading Afghanistan instead of pursuing extradition isn’t enough?

Admitting secret renditions, a violation of international law, isn’t enough?

Holding a U.S. citizen for years without charges isn’t enough?

Torturing prisoners isn’t enough?

You, Senator Biden, have to draw an imaginary line in the sand? A line which, by the way, ignores the effect of the War Powers Act granting the President the authority to use military force any way He sees fit for up to 60 days without Congressional approval.

No, Senator Biden, I am not impressed with your grandstanding. There are enough reasons to impeach the president right now. You don’t need to add one more line, one more time. Support the Constitution NOW or shut-up about it.

  1. Thanks BnF. I agree completely.
I had a caller from the DNC call me today. #1) I hate being called at home by businesses. Period. Charitable or otherwise. I have things in place to prevent as much as I can. #2) Hate people calling for money. I give where I choose and don’t need anyone to “help” me with my decision. Gave the woman an earful about how Dems need to stand up for what is right; how they are all being pussies. That I wouldn’t support them until they decide to hold people accountable. Might keep them from calling again for a week or so.

  2. What? You want a Senator to take some real action? Now? Why there’s future elections to worry about they couldn’t possibly take action now. They’ll send a warning letter, maybe.

  3. Bluedahlia, I couldn’t agree more and have done the same thing. Why doesn’t the “Do Not Call” list apply to these people? Or does it and they just ignore it? I wonder how many earfuls they get from disgruntled voters though, I hope more than just us.

I don’t think it does – political and charitable organizations are exempt, I believe.

  5. Hmm, there were some critters defending Biden just the last week when I questioned his commitment to doing something other than running his mouth….
