Diebold Voting Machine Failures Found Across State During New Hampshire Primary

Election Officials Confirm that Employees from LHS Associates, Diebold’s Sole Programmer, Vendor, and Service Provider in NH, Were Allowed to Access Vulnerable Optical-Scan Systems Throughout Election Day

Early research into New Hampshire wards and towns which used Diebold’s AccuVote Optical-Scan voting machines during last week’s Primary reveals that chronic problems continue with the company’s infamous paper-ballot voting machines.

As well, the preliminary investigation reveals a great deal of confusion and conflicting information from local election clerks and a high-ranking official in the state Attorney General’s office regarding protocols and security procedures for voting systems and memory cards, and how they are to be handled during Election Day failures. There’s a lot of information here in this latest update from Brad Friedman from BradBlog.
There is also a post concerning Kucinich being “un-invited” to the Nevada Democratic Presidential Debate.

COMMENT FROM BRAD: Or does it have something to do with his asking for a hand count of the votes in the NH Primary? After all, Kucinich already had his anti-war position when he was initially invited to participate in the debate originally, several days ago. But he was then un-invited the morning after he announced his call for a count of the NH primary ballots. Just FYI.

  1. I worked on the development of a pension application that ran under Visual C++ and Access Basic. Access Basic offered the interface to the people who answered the telephones – updating tables when someone moved or passed on. The C++ calculated the checks and Access Basic cut paper checks or prepared e checks. Follow-on audits turned up errors that totaled about 14 cents in a mailing that affected about a million individuals. All of the errors were due to rounding and corrected in subsequent cycles. The entire effort involved 7 people in the development cycle. It all boils down to the fact the money is considered to be more important than votes.

  2. Thinkprogress on either Kucinich being ousted from the NBC debate *or* the voting irregularities in NH?

    *crickets chirping*

  3. On the Bill Maher show Friday evening the Catherine Crier a others brought up the subject of Dieblold voting machine fraud, but that asshole Tony Snow, derailed the subject and turned it into a voter fraud issue saying so you people agree that everybody needs proper IDs to vote. I’m still steaming.
