  1. wtf?

Anyways, I witnessed the Santa Barbara spill in Dec/Jan 68/9 when home on leave between Germany and Nam.
It was a complete clusterf*ck, with thousands of birds dead on the beach, seals and sea lions covered with tarry oil.
The sooner we get rid of this energy source as a fuel the better, starting last decade!

  2. dbadass, From Boston and we call it “beach” around these parts. Don’t have no freaking “r’s” in our speech up here!.

  3. I don’t think we can truly say that if we drill in our own shores that there will be open oil on the beaches, unless there is of course an oil spill. But technology improves, oil spills are less common today than in the past. I believe the fear of the spills is overstated. It’s almost like saying you\ will refuse to drink a glass of water in a room other than the kitchen because you fear spilling it on the carpet.
