Kucinich tells DNC: ‘Wake up America!’

Raw Story

He might not have had the marquee billing of a Mark Warner or a Hillary Clinton, but Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) nonetheless whipped his party faithful into a frenzy Tuesday evening.

The Ohio lawmaker and liberal stalwart who earlier sought the Democratic presidential nomination delivered a passionate address calling on those in the audience here in Denver at watching at home to “wake up” and prevent another four years of Republican rule.

“Wake up America,” Kucinich declared from the podium of the Democratic National Convention. “In 2001 the oil companies, the war contractors and the neocon-artists seized the economy and added $4 trillion of unproductive spending to the national debt. … Trillions of dollars for an unnecessary war paid for with borrowed money.”

  1. Thanks for posting this muse. I was cooking dinner and forgot he was even speaking. I couldn’t watch the whole thing because Rachel Maddow is fighting with Pat Buchana. I hope Dennis gets a cabinet position WHEN Obama wins. The power of positive thinking.

  2. I love watching Rachel Maddow chew Pat Buchanan into little itty bitty pieces and spit him out..
    What a blow hole (PB).
I think she loves pushing his buttons.
She is just SO much smarter than he is, and in such greater command of the facts. She is a treat to listen to.

  3. She actually had the crowd cheering but I don’t know why. Basically i missed what Kucinich and Rachel were saying. But I can watch Dennis later. Thanks again.

  4. I’m sure it’s driving them all crazy to know she got her own show. I wonder what _ucker Carlson thinks, teehee. Did you see Scarborough go postal today? I put up the video it was so funny. Shuster is almost as good as Rachel but sometimes leans to the right.

  5. You’re welcome. I haven’t seen the entire thing yet. I’ll watch it later. I love Kucinich.

Rachel is just SO much better than any of them. I’m happy for her. We need more people like her speaking for Progressives.

  6. Thanks for posting this muse. I was making bread for dinner and didn’t have time to watch it either.

Kucinich is such a great man, I even liked him when he was the mayor of Cleveland. He tried so hard to always do the right thing even back then.

I did a report on him in school for political history class.
