Conservatism discards Prescription, shrinks from Principle, disavows Progress; having rejected all respect for antiquity, it offers no redress for the present, and makes no preparation for the future.

I am teaching tonight, so will miss the debate. Are we live blogging wherein I can relive the drama from you folks marvelous perspective??
Thank’s for the thread EV, hope you are doing well.
Good morning RUCerious, hug’s to sweet Amber…Foggy and cold here this morning…Oso had me up and out in the dark for his morning run…
Been wondering where cheney has been and just heard he is having trouble with his heart beat and going in for a procedure this morning…Battery replacement must be in order, damn that energizer bunny….LOL…Blessings
RU, someone industrious always does a live blog. It’s a good thing we have some conscientious people here, because I’ll be watching the Dodgers/Phillies game. I have a very low threshold for political “debates.”
I found this in the links on Big-Blue’s Obama-Ayers story yesterday.
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/
The “Truth-O-Meter”, “Flip-O-Meter” and “Attack File” tabs all have stories about the candidates’ statements, flip-flops, and attack ads.
CNN is finally acknowledging the polls in Virginia:
CNN/Time/Opinion Research Oct. 11-14
Obama 53
McCain 43
This is considered “leaning Obama”. Any other poll it would be “solid Dem” but CNN has to maintain the illusion of the horserace for their ratings.
Other states shown today:
Florida: Obama 51 McCain 46
Colorado: Obama 51 McCain 47
Missouri: Obama 48 McCain 49
Georgia: Obama 45 McCain 53
The DJI drops 733 today, wiping out Monday’s big day, to close at 8577.
It’ll be interesting if McCain tries to throw ACORN in Obama’s face when he has supported ACORN for years. And how will McCain justify all the dirty tricks his party is responsible for with election fraud and voter intimidation?
It’ll be interesting if McCain tries to throw Jeremiah Wright in Obama’s face when he would have to defend Pastor Hagee and Palin’s crazy witch-hunter pastor..
It’ll be interesting if he tries to throw Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac at Obama when his ccampaign manager Rick Davis has been a lobbyist for FM&FM and was still taking money from them up until last month.
It’ll be interesting to see McCain go after Obama on the economy when he would likely put Phil Gramm in his cabinet as Sec of the Treasury when Gramm is one of the people most responsible for the horrendous mess our country is in.
It’ll be interesting to see if McCain brings up ‘questionable’ associations (Bill Ayers), when McCain has his own ‘questionable’ associations to explain.. (the head of Sen. John McCain’s transition team, power lobbyist William Timmons, was involved in a lobbying effort on behalf of Saddam Hussein in the early 1990s “to ease international sanctions against his regime.”)
Hard to throw rocks when you live in a glass house..
