  1. And they follow the path of the black soldiers from the American Civil War to Vietnam and the Nisei of WW2. Persecuted at home, but their blood runs just the same colour.

  2. The same colour as those poppies on the header of the Zoo:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    — Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 – 1918)

  3. Walt, Thanks

    TnT, Great posts.

If Truman could do what he did for Blacks in the military, Obama can do the same for Gays. He needs to have some balls and do the right thing. We need this done not wishy washy excuses on why a stupid policy isn’t being corrected.
