November 25, 2011 Music Night

I’ve probably posted video of Lissie before, and honestly, I’ll do it again. I love this girl. This video was shot in someone’s back yard in Brooklyn. Someone needs to give the video operator a knock on the head or give ’em a tripod, but I still get a kick out of it. Lissie and her band are so good at what they do they need almost nothing in the way of equipment, just raw talent.

  1. I have to admit I have an occasional penchant for country music. Mostly the ladies of country. And I have always loved this lady’s voice and a great many of her songs. Not to mention a huge crush. This particular duel inspired an entire book for me. Granted, it isn’t finished yet but…

    • I was never a big Reba fan until I started watching her sitcom.

You’ve got to watch that video. The interplay between Reba and Linda Davis toward the end is the key to the song.

      • All through the song as far as I’m concerned. I wouldn’t want to be the doof playing fast and loose with either of them.

  2. I was at the Fillmore when “Cream” first came to America. After the first act “Cream” was really late to start their set, and the crowd was getting restless. They finally came out and played great. Years later in an interview Eric Clapton revealed why they were late. They were afraid to follow the first act, who blew the doors off the dump. Well here’s the guy, and his band that “Cream” feared.
