Somebody threw out a suggestion to Cats about doing music from movies or shows. In all honesty, I don’t relate to music a lot from these sources, but I’ll throw a couple out there because I bet a bunch of you do.
A movie blast from my irreverent past.
Johnny from Dead Man Walking.
I think I have about a hundred songs from movies that I like.
From ‘Chances Are’: After All – Peter Cetera & Cher
Movie theme songs? Like House, a shit pot full. My all time favorite.
Jealous Lover
I always like Jack Lemmon.
From the Muppet Movie… Are you a man or are you a muppet? I was treated to this movie several times over the summer with my grandchildren.
Up ahead! A fork in the road!
My second favorite. The template for later action themes.
Shaft-Isaac Hayes
Good choice.
From ‘Ice Castles’: Looking Through the Eyes of Love – Melissa Manchester
From one of my favorite movies by one of the great composers, Hans Zimmer. Watching this video which shows pictures of the west, makes me realize that I miss the west coast and the high desert. We had such a wonderful road trip this summer. Enough of my rambling…
Nonewhere and I will be bowing out for awhile as we are getting ready to go to a Halloween Party. We may be back later. Enjoy! There are so many good songs from movies out there.
Number 3. While not the theme, it is the signature song.
As Time Goes By
Also the theme and title of my favorite Britcom, starring Judy Dench and Geoffrey Palmer.
One of my all time favorite songs, and yes House Judy and Geoffrey are fantastic.
I have posted this on occasion, but now in context…
Number 4. Also not the lead theme but the heart of the movie. My all time favorite movie with my favorite soundtrack. Fiddler used to hold that spot. This version is the finale one, slightly different words and blends into, well, the finale.
“Come What May”
Enjoy…
Okay I had a thingy, as a teener, for Lola…
Great version…
one more…
From ‘A League of Their Own’: Carole King – Now and Forever
Love that movie.
Numbers 4, 5, & 6. The first is the theme for one of the greatest musicals ever. Five is the theme for your basic great movie. Six is back to a musical.

Skyfall by Adele
In 1968 at the age of 13 I was taken to the theater by a (female, ample breasted) cousin to see the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey.
At the time, I didn’t get the movie, or the music, but I do now.
Sorry, weird things are happening with U-toob links.

Clint Eastwood says, “play Misty for me.” okay, from the man who wrote, and composed this classic…
