Good morning, Zoosters.
This is the open thread of the day, until a better one comes around.
So, have a cup of your favorite brew, sit down and unload whatever comes to mind.

“He was having a bad night”
In this case, The Baker Act is working as it should.

Returning guns to an alcoholic with PTSD is, in my mind, a very bad idea.
In re pressure cookers, I am possibly the only person alive on the planet today who uses a pressure cooker MORE OFTEN than any Islamic terrorist outfit! And too, I suspect I’ve used a gun far less often than almost all alive today, at least in the US of A. True story!
i too am a pressure cooker owner/operator. quarts of green beans annually…..chili, spaghetti sauce…
guns….no, just big dogs
Flan comes out excellent in a presure cooker.
as does popcorn
I admit I have both a pressure cooker and a gun. My son is terrified of both.
‘Like’ isn’t working for me so consider this my ‘like’ of the post, until a better way is available. 😀
🙂
my “like” isn’t working either..
Mine worked just now. Wonder what’s up with that?
Maybe it’s fixed, it worked for me too.
you must have privileged settings…i don’t have a “like”
all i have is a “reply” button…maybe i’ll graduate someday to a reply and like buttons
fatherbob, there isn’t a ‘like’ on every post —
it is just below and just above the author of the Watering Hole subject of the day:
<blockquoteShare this: Dig Facebook StumbleUpon Print Reddit Twitter Email
(here, there's a star that you'd click, it will turn to 'liked') Like this:
Uncertain if this works on a mobile device.
Apologies, damn, royally messed that up.

Once they ban pressure cookers, then it’ll be egg poachers! Slippery Slope!!!
When blenders are outlawed only outlaws will have margaritas.
On Friday, the New York Times reported on the front page that Citigroup drafted most of a House bill that would allow banks to engage in risky trades backed by a potential taxpayer-funded bailout. The Times notes that “Citigroup’s recommendations were reflected in more than 70 lines of the House committee’s 85-line bill.” Special-interest lobbyists often play a role in writing legislation on the Hill, but such sausage-making is rarely revealed to the public. In this instance, members of Congress and a band of lobbyists have been caught red-handed, and Mother Jones has obtained the Citigroup draft that is practically identical to the House bill. As you can see in the side-by-side comparison below, the lobbyists for Citigroup really earned their pay on this job.

If only being a right wing nutbag radio/teevee character required a background and sanity check.
We’d have been spared Hannity, Limbaugh, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

Insurance required for a gun?
This has been discussed on this forum quite extensively.
I submit that it should also be realistically priced to reflect the loss of life or limb it causes.
I’d venture a non-actuarial guess like $12,000 per annum for an assault weapon.
How much does a five million dollar liability cost? Gun insurance — a great concept — should never be a dime less than that for anything more than a BB gun.
nice concept indeed!
we need to make firearm ownership as difficult as possible ala-Roe v Wade
At breakfast today, I heard some bumpkin saying that the government is going to euthanize old people. How do you combat that amount of stupid?
“How do you combat that amount of stupid?”
Say “dang! da gubbermint knows how to make people young again?
I knew dey was hiding something.”
Hey buddy, when’s your turn coming up?
Srsly, Youthenizin’? Sine me uhp.
Seems to me I saw a pic of a wingnut’s Obamacare protest sign that said something about “Youth In Asia.”
You can’t. Sane people want to discuss appropriate end of life care, some fool calls it a “death panel” and the myth never dies.
Indeed. And ultimately you’re doing your own constituents a disservice by lying to them so much that they aren’t even capable of knowing the truth any more.
i wonder what age this yo-yo deems as “old”
If the government was proposing to euthanize idiots, they might pique my interest up a notch or two.
I remember when that happened. Rush was rarely seen on TV again after that (except for his detractors playing him crapping into his radio microphone.)
2nd star to the left….
where’s that fucking “Like” button?
In New York State, not only do women have the legal right to breastfeed in public (that’s what breasts are for), they have the legal right to go topless thanks to a judge who ruled that a law saying men can go topless but women can’t violates equal protection. The NYPD has been reminded that unless a topless woman is otherwise breaking the law, they are not to arrest her just for being topless. I Love New York. 🙂

brings a whole new meaning to “stop & frisk” – don’t it…
so…..do i have to register my Dutch Oven?
If I have to register all of my Dutch ovens it’ll take me a month or two just to fill out the paperwork.
This bear is smarter than your dog:
Yeah. No dog of mine ever understood Russian!
Here we go! It looks like all that righteous indignation by the poor teabaggers isn’t because they were wrongly accused. It’s because they got caught “bending the rules”.

I’m watching Chris Hayes and during a break I get a commercial telling me to watch Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannitty, and Greta Van Susteren on Fox News. On MSNBC !

Hi, all y’all.
I’m in Livingston, Montana, and will be making the big push to get home tomorrow. I’ll let you know when I get there.
We saw Mt Rushmore yesterday & Devils Tower today. Got some great pics of climbers on Devils tower. Crazy SOBs. 😀
Safe travels, friend.
