So, at this present time, why are no traditional news sources running this story? Possible hoax?
I think Reuters is reporting that Rolling Stone is reporting that Reddit is reporting that Facebook is reporting him dead.
I tried Googling “Is Lou Reed dead” and Rolling Stone is reporting he died today, while the hoax story House posted below says he died Saturday, possibly as early as Friday, in the US, so there’s no time difference involved. Most of the reports I read (Chicago Tribune being the closest to a “major” news source) referenced the Rolling Stone story.
At this point, I’m thinking it could be a hoax. Even the Rolling Stone article cited no source for the information, such as a family member or official spokesperson, which is what I need to hear to be convinced a celebrity is dead (what with all the internet hoaxes out there.)
If this is a hoax, it’s just horrible. Fucking trolls.
Okay, now I’m seeing reports citing his named literary agent, Andrew Wylie, as the source of the news. I just hope Andrew didn’t get it from the internets.
He’s as dead as Julius Caesar.

Danica just got back onto the lead lap. She’s 26th, after starting 40th in her backup car. She wrecked her primary car in practice. She’s turning good laps once her tires come up to temps now.
