    • That’s as bad as the guy who ordered Pastrami on Sourdough, because he had a Rye sense of humor.

  1. I believe that we will win. I believe that we will win. I believe that we will win. I believe that the USA will win today’s World Grass-Diving Cup game.

    • Love the commenter from HuffPo article, who is using this biblical passage to challenge the conservative edits
” Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things. God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy , God sh…all take away his part from the Book of Life from the holy city and from the things which are written in this book. “

    • Accept the Logic of Hell: applying logic with its full force and effect, as in not denying or downplaying the very real existence of Hell or the Devil.
      7. Express Free Market Parables; explaining the numerous economic parables with their full free-market meaning

hmm, so the bible was into the free market…how interesting that meshes with the conservative greedy, grubby ways.

    • . . . updating words which have a change in meaning, such as “word”, “peace”, and “miracle” . . .

My suggestions: for ‘word’, how about chitchat? For ‘peace’ the obvious conservative word is WAR!! As for ‘miracle’, well, there’s really only one word that’s an adequate substitute in conservativeville: Bullshit.

      • I have never ever liked legos.
Form follows function and a painful plastic rectangle is completely unnatural.

  2. Danica finished 18th. She started 11th, went down a lap about halfway, and got the lap back in 31st with 30 laps to go. Made up 13 spots Teammate Kurt Busch led Stewart-Haas in 12th, and owner Stewart was one spot behind Danica in 19th, and Kevin Harvick one more spot back in 20th.

  3. Why does anyone now care what Cheney thinks about Iraq when even Dubya tuned him out eventually.

  4. It’s going to be a good week.
Godzilla, King of the Monsters is on TCM.
Yeah, the original with Raymond Burr.

    • Life can’t get much better for the vinylspear household!
(It is difficult to think of Raymond Burr outside of Perry Mason role)

          • Heh, I visited the Ramon Burr winery in Sonoma this past week. Wanted to pick up their Cabernet Franc. Sold out – won’t have any more until November – so I joined their wine club. Their Cabernet Franc is an award winning wine & in high demand.

As a side note, UOP McGeorge School of Law gave Ramond Burr a diploma – not an honorary diploma, an actual diploma. He researched the law there for his role as Perry Mason, so much so that they felt he knew as much as their graduates Turns out he was good friends with the first Dean of the law school. They even have a Ramond Burr scholarship for those interested in pursuing a career in criminal defense law. His diploma hangs in the wine tasting room of the Raymond Burr winery, right by his two Emmys.

So…here’s to November, when I shall receive not one, but two bottles of Cabernet Franc. mmmmmm……

            wine…a viable alternative to therapy……

            • wine…a viable alternative to therapy……

As it has been written, so shall it be.

Wasn’t aware of Burr’s association of UOP. I knew he and his partner lived in the wine country.

  5. And sometimes I am too sincerely tired to be able to spell walking.
