The Watering Hole, Wednesday, April 15, 2015: What Next?

Assume, for sake of argument, the ruling class, the super wealthy, get everything they want. And it’s a long list, and they’ve already accomplished some of these things:

The ability to pass down their wealth, tax free, in perpetuity;
A zero tax rate, with tax subsidies to their businesses;
No minimum wage;
No child labor laws;
No unions;
No workplace safety laws;
No environmental protections;
Privatize everything the government does;
Private ownership of all land;
No anti-trust laws – no regulations of any kind on businesses;
No ObamaCare, Welfare, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance or Disability Insurance; etc.

What would they want next?

  1. What would they want next?
    Establishment of the Police State, followed by confiscation of all citizen-owned weaponry to prevent insurrection. This is just what the RWNJs claim the Obama Administration stands for, yet all the above are not the slippery slope to liberalism, but the slippery slope to totalitarianism. It’s just not in our nature, but it is in theirs.

    • Water is just about there it seems, delivered in petroleum based containers to further pollute the environment. Privatization of clean air will also rely on petroleum plastics to create real bubbles over enclaves of entitled elites.

  2. Their final demand will be that the government and the people act quickly to save them from the consequences of the environmental collapse they’ve created. Fortunately for the rest of the universe, that won’t happen and the human plague will finally be gone for good.

    And they will blame Obama, of course.

  3. Political diaper alert:

    Obama Will Remove Cuba From State-Sponsored Terror List

    President Barack Obama will remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, the White House announced Tuesday, a key step in his bid to normalize relations between the two countries.

    In a message to Congress, Obama said the government of Cuba “has not provided any support for international terrorism” over the last six months. He also told lawmakers that Cuba “has provided assurances that it will not support acts of international terrorism in the future.”

    Cuba will officially be removed from the terror list 45 days after the president’s message was sent to Congress. Lawmakers could vote to block the move during that window, though Obama would be all-but-certain to veto such a measure.

  4. Unlimited cash to any candidate, cause or whimsy, leading to total control of the electoral system.
    Lobbyists would have to enter the Capitol building through toll booths instead of metal detectors.

  5. Slavery.
    Yep, slavery.
    Bring it back, we miss it, old fashioned slavery.
    The police state is part of the equation.
    You danced around it but, you didn’t hit the nail squarely on the head.
    Outright bona fide slavery.
    The ability to buy and sell other humans as chattel and property.
    A flesh and blood stock market.
    Complete with expedited shipping from

    • Presumably delivered by a specialized drone that delivers said shackled chattel in a re-usable metal alloy cage with bio-sensor locking mechanism only the owner can open.

  6. Good summary of the newly-emergent Christer-Wingnuttistanian anti-Hillary project, the “Oh no, Hillary thinks gay people are really people” division:

    Tony Perkins: Hillary Clinton Seeks ‘The Complete Demolition Of The Natural Family’

    Over her long career as a senator and America’s top diplomat, Hillary Clinton has been a global advocate for abortion-on-demand and the complete demolition of the natural family, making her anything but an ally of children or the family. Even her presidential announcement video made a point of elevating the homosexual agenda above other key American priorities. “I’m getting married this summer to someone I really care about,” says one man in the video before the camera pans to him holding hands with another man. “When families are strong,” viewers hear Mrs. Clinton saying, “America is strong.” In the next frame, another same-sex couple is featured. Proving once again just how out of touch the Left is with mainstream America, the ad ignores the military and the global threat in favor of radical fringe issues.

    • “in favor of radical fringe issues”. Tony, do you mean fringe issues like abortion and gay marriage? ‘Cause I thought abortion and gay marriage are global threats according to you and your ilk. Ugh you are one dumb ass.

  7. “Senate Democrats Flip Script On Mitch McConnell, Tell All 50 Governors To Comply With EPA Rule”

    WTF? Someone started to sign in Barbara Boxer’s space and she just wrote over it after they semi-erased it. Is there no more paper in D.C.? The letter:

  8. Jake Tapper speaking in-person to Marco Rubio: “On that issue, same-sex marriage, senator, you’re the candidate of yesterday.”

    “I think there’s still a significant number of Americans that believe that the definition of marriage should be that of one man and one woman, as it has been for thousands of years,” Rubio said.

    “But they are a minority,” Tapper jumped in to say.

    “Well, they’re a large minority,” Rubio responded.

    • Something weird has been going on the last few weeks. A select few members of the “librul media” actually appear to be asking tough questions and even (gasp!) correcting rightwhiners who are full of shit. There have even been brief glimpses of what we used to call “journalism” waaaaay back when I was young.

      Dare we hope that the powers who own the media have figured out that candidates who are bad for the country are bad for their business?

  9. The Long Pointy History Behind Hillary’s Brilliant Logo

    Since the announcement of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign was no secret, it was her campaign design that was the big reveal of the week. The giant blue H marched its way to the forefront of the breaking news, but at the center of Clinton’s logo is another, far more critical graphic element: The arrow.

    The logo itself is bold and contemporary, and pretty enough that it won’t annoy us when we’ve been looking at it for 18 months straight. It’s lacking all traces of flag-like elements, which is great, and it’s also flat, which is nice. It’s not Obama “ O” good (actually, I always found Obama’s logo packing a little too much heartland/waves-of-grain for my taste), but an H is awkward letter—it isn’t nearly as iconic or cool. It needed something else.

    I feel a little better now. The arrow is kind of growing on me.

  10. Ann Coulter thinks it’s too easy to vote today, suggests weeding out uninformed voters by making them pass literacy test.

    Coulter said, “I just think it should be, well for one thing, a little more difficult to vote. There’s nothing unconstitutional about literacy tests.”

    Fellow guest and executive director of the Accountability Project, Nomiki Konst, pointed out that literacy tests were made illegal under the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

    More derp in the article:

    • Amazing Ann isn’t familiar with the Constitution.

      The 24th Amendment Ended the Poll Tax
      January 23, 1964
      Imagine that you are finally old enough to vote in your first election. But, do you have enough money? Money, to vote? Not long ago, citizens in some states had to pay a fee to vote in a national election. This fee was called a poll tax. On January 23, 1964, the United States ratified the 24th Amendment to the Constitution, prohibiting any poll tax in elections for federal officials.

    • It is a damn shame the human race kills theses animals for senseless reasons.
      (grinding up the horn as an aphrodisiac)

      And the white rhino is in danger of being no more on this earth.
