I love Mumford & Sons, and I’ve been listening to them a lot lately — so all y’all get a post out of it!  Yeah, I’d pretend I had anything else to post, but I can’t put anything over on you guys.  :)

  2. Bernie’s Speech Last Night at Seattle – Good audio and video. It’s a pity this couldn’t have been streamed.

    • If I was Bernie, I’d be quoting Teh Donald’s incredible 2 minute truth-telling about how he gets stuff done in Washington from the Clown Car Pie-in-the-face-athon on Thursday.

  3. At the coffee shop working today – music coming from the Tom Petty Radio over the interwebs…..

… really good classic rock mix.

  4. Kasich proves himself to be at least as stupid as all the rest of the clown car passengers. See also Chuck Todd, speaking of stupid.

Ohio Governor Kasich: Do Nothing On Climate Change Because It’s An Unproven Theory

On NBC’s Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd called Kasich one of the “big winners of Thursday’s debate,” and praised him for an “impressive performance for the supportive crowd” in his home state and read a Time magazine quote comparing him to Pope Francis.

Kasich distanced himself from the Pontiff on economic issues and environmental ones. “I think that man absolutely affects the environment, but as to whether, what the impact is… the overall impact — I think that’s a legitimate debate.”

He then added: “We don’t want to destroy people’s jobs, based on some theory that is not proven.”

    • Sigh… No one from either side ever seems to mention the jobs and fortunes just waiting to be created building wind farms, solar panels, batteries and motors, and all the other possible new energy sources. Example? Look what happened when petroleum became a prime energy source. Fortunes and jobs everywhere and, funny, the coal industry found a way to survive. The same will happen with the petroleum industry plus we get the bonus of being able to use petroleum for all it’s other uses while not simply turning it into heat, noise, and pollution.

      • Yep, the reason for their silence is the GOoPer’s bought-and-paid-for allegiance to fossil fuels. Plus, they don’t give a shit about jobs for average Joe or Jane anyway, except maybe in the warmongering industry, and even there they’d prefer Joe and Jane work for nothing. Fascists are like that.

      • There – but then the serfs in bondage to the Big Fossil, the cars and the wires coming to the door would break free and we could never have that could we because….. freedom.

  5. Police K9 fail

The puppy, Niko, is the department’s newest K9, and joined the department only two weeks ago, according to a statement from Fremont police. Niko escaped a secured yard in San Jose’s Willow Glen area between 10 p.m. and midnight. The neighborhood is in south San Jose.

“They’re (sic) instinct is to run to where they were trained,”
…The dog was trained in the Czech Republic

  6. The golden-fronted whitestart (Myioborus ornatus), or, less accurately, the golden-fronted redstart, is a species of bird in the Parulidae family. It is found in forest, woodland and scrub in the Andes of Colombia and far western Venezuela. source

  7. Ah. NOW I get it. I think. Maybe. Hmmm.

Florida Pastor: Defund Planned Parenthood And The National Debt Will End ‘Immediately’

Dr. Craig Conner, senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Panama City . . .

“You want to talk about reducing the national debt?” Conner continued. “We could reduce it overnight if they would defund this evil organization and put it on the national debt. Man, we could get out of debt immediately.” [. . .]

Conner said that Planned Parenthood had met the biblical definitions for evil, wicked, ungodly, hellish and shameful.

“It must go because Planned Parenthood is to children what ISIS is to Christians,” he noted. “It’s an extreme threat.”
