Sunday Roast: Democrats do it, too. Neener, neener!!!

As if the GOP “debates” aren’t enough of a clusterfuck, the DNC has decided to put their own brand of screws to the democratic process.  Because Hillary Clinton.  And big money in politics, of course.

*head banging on desk*

This is our daily open thread — Happy Sunday!!

      • I wonder if Stenhouse would like that?

Danica Patrick extends sponsorship deal with Aspen Dental

Danica Patrick’s future sponsorship slate is complete with the announcement on Friday that Aspen Dental Management has extended its contract with the Stewart-Haas Racing driver and will serve as the primary sponsor on the No. 10 Chevrolet for four races annually beginning next season.

In August, SHR announced a multi-year deal with Nature’s Bakery that will make it the primary sponsor for 28 races yearly. Primary sponsorship for the remaining four Sprint Cup points races has yet to be announced, but a SHR spokesman said the “inventory is full,” for Patrick’s car in 2016. She is therefore set to make a seamless move away from the long-term relationship with domain name registrar, which will end its motorsports sponsorship commitment after this season.

I’m glad she’s got sponsors for the foreseeable future. It’s hard to turn down a driver who has their own money with them. However, it;s going to be harder to spot her on the track without the vivid green of the GoDaddy paint scheme. She’s just going to have to run closer to the front now, so I can keep up with her better.

As for Aspen Dental, she’ll make a fine spokesperson with her smile!

      • Republicans clearly do NOT give a shit about the constitution.

Ben Carson Says Muslims Should Be Disqualified From Presidency

Carson said he would not support a Muslim president and that only candidates with a faith “consistent with the Constitution” should be President.

CHUCK TODD: Let me wrap this up by finally dealing with what’s been going on, Donald Trump, and a deal with a questioner that claimed that the president was Muslim. Let me ask you the question this way. Should a President’s faith matter? Should your faith matter to voters?

BEN CARSON: Well, I guess it depends on what that faith is. If it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem.

TODD: So do you believe that Islam is consistent with the constitution?

        CARSON: No, I don’t, I do not.

        TODD: So you–

CARSON: I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that.

  1. The Kagu is a flightless bird with grey plumage, which has led to the name of ‘ghost of the forest’ by local people. Endemic to the island of New Caledonia in the South Pacific.

  2. Apparently Jackie Collins, novelist of the rich, sociopathic, and gratuitously sexualized, has died of breast cancer, at age 77. I never read any of her books, and I swear before any god you do or do not believe in, I never will.

I do not begrudge her the enormous financial successes she enjoyed in life, but do observe that those successes didn’t do much to extend that life at its end.

    • Collins was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer six and a half years ago. Her successes probably bought her six years longer than an impoverished woman on Medicaid under a Republican governor.

    • Sigh… I fear the damage has been done.

I just overheard another old lady talking about “libruls selling baby parts” in line at the store today. Every person involved in making the videos could end up in prison for fraud and the True Believers will never, ever, believe the truth even if they hear it. Her Goebbels would be very proud of our RWEC(Right Wing Echo Chamber).

      • BTW. Are they afraid of being jailed for covertly recording people or are they just worried about slander and libel suits because they have misrepresented what they recorded? And, considering the coverage they have already received and the damage done; this story should be the lead on every nightly “news” show in the country. Will the “librul media” even mention it?

      • Yep. I had to make up a new acronym when I sent the link to a friend.

WTHFFF? What The Holy Fucking Fuck of Fuck!!!? Because, some days, there just aren’t enough “fucks” in the English language.

  3. Former peanut company CEO sentenced to 28 years for salmonella outbreak

The former owner of a peanut company in Georgia was sentenced to 28 years in prison on Monday for his role in a salmonella outbreak that killed nine people and sickened hundreds, a rare instance of jail time in a food contamination case.

Stewart Parnell, 61, who once oversaw Peanut Corporation of America, and his brother, Michael Parnell, 56, who was a food broker on behalf of the company, were convicted on federal conspiracy charges in September 2014 for knowingly shipping salmonella-tainted peanuts to customers.

U.S. District Judge Louis Sands gave Michael Parnell 20 years in prison. Mary Wilkerson, 41, a former quality control manager at the plant who was found guilty of obstruction, was sentenced to five years in prison.

Stewart Parnell faced life in prison and his brother faced about 24 years

I doubt this prosecution would have even taken place under the Bush Administration, or any Republican president.
