I started out looking for a winter solstice song, and ended longing for its opposite. Happy summer solstice to our South American and African friends.
The summer solstice occurs when the tilt of a planet’s semi-axis, in either northern or southern hemispheres, is most inclined toward the star that it orbits. Earth’s maximum axial tilt toward the Sun is 23° 26′. In the UK, there is a tradition that bands try to get “The Christmas Number 1” – the song at the top of the charts on Christmas Day….. it has produced many memorable records and some equally memorable attempts…. some serious and some somewhat less than serious…. for their commitment to this tradition, I salute the Darkness …..
And this year’s attempt is even more… well you’ll see….

Anyhow, there was the major event of the week in Paris … 200 countries agreed on something – the Climate (capital C). But at the Monkey Poo Fling on Tuesday, those small-minded skidmarks had nothing to say about it – nor did Obama today in his conference…. anyhow… maybe there is some hope now for Antartica
Actually, TtT, President Obama did bring it up and fired a pretty direct shot at the GOoPers. I suppose that the RWEC will be whining about him calling GOoPers “stupid, crazy, inbred hicks from the sticks” or some such rot. As for the Monkey Poo Fling; Is it not incredible that none of the august members of the “librul media” asked a single question about climate change, domestic terrorism, or gun control?
