The Watering Hole, Tuesday March 15, 2016 – The Ides of March

Today is the Republican Party’s last grate (pun intended) day. Big state primaries with voters in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio casting votes. The strategy is to deny Trump the number of delegates needed by having Rubio and Kasich snag favorite son state’s delegates, thus blocking Trump. The pollsters are indicating otherwise, declaring Trump to be leading in all those states. After today you’ll likely see a coalescing around the presumptive nominee by the neo-fascists.

Hillary is also predicted to win all those states, but three are more like Michigan in their composition and Bernie surged from 20 some points behind there to upset all the pollsters including the rather accurate Nate Silver. So for this Ides of March, are there political assassins lurking in the halls?

Open Thread.

  1. Let us hope the good voters of the several states come not to bury Hair Drumpf, but to praise him (and his hair!)

  2. Good read on the lack of substance in the area of foreign policy in the debates. It must scare the crap out of the world that one party has dissolved into a Big Johnson contest, poo flinging and threats to start more wars and turn countries into ‘glow in the dark sand’ for its policy discussions and the other is not taking seriously the foreign policy questions that the US should be paying attention to.

  3. And again, from the files of what are my principles worth – Ben Carson edition…… careful Ben…. you and your new best pal might get your collar fingered on this one.

  4. Meanwhile – Indy’s back ….. here’s the first shot at the new movie title – anyone else?

      • Hi Terry, I just want to say how much I’ve enjoyed the posts you’ve made about the Turtle family and the travel adventures you’ve shared with the Zoo community. I’m not really sure why, at this particular point in time, I feel that tonight is a good night to thank you for contributions you’ve made to this insignificant community of progressives, however, thank you and may the best befall you and yours.

I feel it would also be remiss of me to not inform my friends here of the emptiness in my heart since Ebb has left us. It hurts still.

        • Thanks Pachy, nice to hear. I miss the Ebb and Walt …. always had a little comment from Ebb on what some of the Usual Suspects did that was worth posting here.

Its been a thing to be here almost every day since the exodus from TP and seeing the names here has been a comfort and a pleasure and a learning experience. I feel possibly that we will be going our separate ways sometime but for now…. may the road rise to meet you and may all your kids be yours!
