Daily Gnuz

Hump Day be here, and here’s some of the gnuz of the day

To America, It Looks Like Chaos. For Trump, It’s Just Tuesday.
h/t Politico
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls Proverbs 25:28

And

Trump to ban transgender people from all military service
h/t The Hill
But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes
1 John 2:11

Finally,

Senate GOP’s Trumpcare Bill Fails Spectacularly With New Defections
h/t TPM
So, strike one. Please continue to threaten, cajole and browbeat the ‘disloyal’ senators, Mr Prezidunce. What you are clearly missing is that they are loyal…to their constituents…as is the nature of a government with checks and balances…dufus.

Open Thread, enjoy the references to the buybull just for a change of pace.

  1. POTUS
‘Piece Of Totally Useless Shit” or
Putin Owns The United States”?? Maybe both??

Bottom line’s a scary one. If, in the next election, the choice on the ballot is between Donald Trump and, say, Vladimir Putin, I’m afraid I’d have to vote for the one with a functioning brain. Putin. *sigh* But since Putin clearly owns Drumpf anyway, maybe I’ll just abstain . . . from my home in Canada.

“Bye, bye miss American Pie, drove my Chevy to the levee and the levee was dry …” Amurkkka: R.I.P.

  2. John McCain, the only Senate Republican currently serving with DIAGNOSED brain cancer, did vote against the straight repeal of the ACA today.

    • It’s a damned shame that the rest of the Republicans who voted for the straight repeal have not yet had their cancer of the soul diagnosis confirmed.

  3. I wonder if Trump’s transgender ban for the military can get past that pesky ‘due process and equal protection under the law’ part of the constitution?

    • Sanders also said the military’s current acceptance of transgender individuals is an “expensive and disruptive policy.”
Two words (actually a letter and two numbers)
      F 35

As for the ‘pesky due process’ notion…
Why Trump’s Ban on Transgender Servicepeople Is Flatly Unconstitutional
Politico does a good job explaining it, too bad the illiterate Prezidunce isn’t listening, or reading, or thinking…

Too damn bad we can’t ban idiots from becoming Prezidunces.

  4. Well, it looks like the Prezidunce’s approval and, more importantly, his disapproval ratings have (gasp) gone down again. From a couple of weeks ago, sitting at 42/55, now are at 35/59.
So let’s see, approval drops by seven percent, which is, by my calculation a drop of 1/6th or 16.7%
And his disapproval rises by four percent, which is an increase of 7%.
In the first ratings, we had 3 percent with a response of ‘duh, what?’
This changes to 8 percent in the more recent poll, as a full five percent were locked in the bathroom, sobbing uncontrollably.

  5. Crooks and Liars is reporting that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke made a call to Lisa Murkowski to threaten her over her vote against the Senate health care bill.
Seems a committee she chairs has canceled confirmation hearings for appointees to his agency and another subcommittee she chairs controls Zinke’s budget. Oops!
What I’d like to see, is Murkowski, Collins and anybody else similarly threatened, declare themselves Independents and screw over the GOP majority the way Jim Jeffords did during the Bush years.

  6. Hi, guys. I’ve been mostly absent lately. But? Here’s my very own quote of the day. Please share it if you think it’s worthy.

Trump’s supporters are those who are too stupid to realize they are being used and those who are, just barely, smart enough to use them.

  7. Well, we didn’t win yet, but we didn’t lose last night. John McCain voted with Murkowski and Collins to sink the most recent version of McConnell’s Folly, 51-49. Pence could have just stayed home, since he wasn’t needed to break the tie.
