Daily Gnuz – New and Improved!

Well, at least New, as in New Year.
Sorry about the hiatus, been buried at work and raising the two kids…

Anyhoo, here’s what appears to be passing as Gnuz these days.

Here’s Trump’s latest offer to end the shutdown — and why Democrats aren’t interested
H/T Vox
The TrumpShutdown now at historical length, baby making doodoos in his Depends to get his WaLL.

Internet brutally mocks Trump after he claims the wall worked in San Antonio — which is nowhere near border
H/T Raw Story
No mocking of this fake Prezidunce is brutal enough.

Immigration hardliners blast Trump’s shutdown deal offer
H/T Politico
Poor T.Rump. Caught between the CoulterBaugh and the Nuck&Chancy nightmare. Most likely consoling himself with mountains of cold Big Macs.

  1. Trump won’t recognize Hillary as the rightfully elected President, any more than Maduro would recognize Guaido, but most countries in the world would love to trade Trump for Hillary.

  2. We have an arrest! The FBI has arrested Roger Stone. He’s charged with obstruction, multiple false statements, and witness tampering. Put him in a cell and give him a bail hearing, after the government reopens and the courts are fully funded again.

  3. Well, I slept through Meet the Press, even though I woke up briefly and turned it on. Now I’m not watching Face the Nation because the first three guests have been Mule Mulvaney, Susan Collins, and Joe Manchin. That wasted the first half of the show. Margaret Brennan is as useless a host as John Dickerson.

  4. Re: imposing a wealth tax.
How much of the property taxes are you responsible for on a house you just bought in the first year of your mortgage? You don’t even own it yet, and you’re already being soaked for the full value of the property.

    • It depends on the state but you’re entering into a contract and that is where they got you. Homestead exemptions soften the blow a little.
Much like buying a new car with financing. You have to have full coverage for the financing to be approved.
The people that have the money laying around to buy these items usually purchase them under an LLC and that changes the game completely.
I live in a place where many homes are bought as “Executive retreats” and are operated under a corporation.
People in my position are screwed because I’m not part of the lucky sperm club.
After seeing what I’ve seen in life. I’m fairly sure I don’t want to be in that club.

  5. Did the Rams get away with TWO no calls on the same play? Everybody who’s a football fan believes the Rams player committed pass interference against the Saints receiver. The other missed call was the helmet to helmet contact that was ignored because of the egregious miss of the pass interference. That was worth fifteen yards and an ejection, on its own.

  6. Glad to see that some of you are still visiting!!
We’re snowed and iced up good here in the great NW.
Not a polar vortex, but three snowstorms in two weeks.

Climate change is upon us with a vengeance.

    • We’ve had six days of temps in the 60s and 70s here in North Alabama. Today starts a chilly weekend, then Monday back in the 60s and high 50s off the end of the long range forecast. Daffodils are blooming down the street in a neighbor’s yard. I was out in t shirt and shorts several days already. As far back as 2010, I can remember working in the yard on Valentines Day it was so warm.
