McCain and Palin Sued for Hate Speech

66-year old grandmother and civil attorney, Mary Kay Green, is suing John McCain, Sarah Palin and their campaign manager claiming they are “intentionally and recklessly portrayed Barack Obama as a terrorist.”

Vodpod videos no longer available.

“I think John McCain and Sarah Palin have no understanding of what we went through as a nation,” she said. “[The lawsuit] will be dismissed as soon as I hear public statements from these two candidates that they abhor these death threats and that they will not tolerate these intruders in their audiences.”

Neither the McCain nor the Obama campaign offered comment on the lawsuit. But privately, Green said the Obama campaign wants the lawsuit dropped.

“It will be dismissed as soon as I hear these public statements from these two candidates that they abhor these death threats and they will not tolerate these intruders in their audiences,” Green said.

Green spent $350 dollars on her lawsuit. She believes it is worth every penny.

I hope that she gets her wish that the kind of hatred and misinformation we are seeing emanating from the McCain camp and their supporters stops. Check out this picture. It speaks volumes.

John McCain – Past and Present

This is John McCain in the past:

You hear McCain talking about those who use negative campaigning because they have no vision for the future.

And here is today’s political ad from the McCain camp:

This ad questions Obama’s connection to Bill Ayers, a man Obama served on a committee with – a committee which was funded by the Chicago Annenburg Challenge led by Leonore Annenberg, a supporter of Ronald Reagan (who then became a policy adviser to Reagan) and John McCain, and is one of the 400 wealthiest people in America.

Has McCain ever released an ad which does not attack Obama or one which contains any policy or issue details? If so, I am hard pressed to remember it.

I think the John McCain from 2000 was correct and John McCain from 2008 has no vision for the future.

Update: Here is a video of Obama discussing Ayers.
