Worldwide Call For Knitters To Make Sweaters for Penguins Affected by 2011 New Zealand Oil Spill
The sweaters prevent oil-soaked birds from preening (and poisoning) themselves, and keep them warm before and after they are cleaned by cleanup workers.
Fleece for Peace!! Thanks for the post, Ebb!!

Thanks for the link. Those are some well dressed penguins.
Got Cute? Good post Ebb!
Oddly and, sadly, related story:

as well as your grey matter Shellie.
Frootcake.
Anyone have any other swell slogans she might borrow?
The shoe is worn?
The slacks are pressed?
The brain is off?
“That train has sailed”
That deserves a snrf snrf.
BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH!!!
I’ll bet other countries are having a really good laugh at our expense right about now.
“The cake is baked”
That one’s gonna go down in history.
Yeah, what was that all about?
Who told her that she was presidential material?
Apparently Gawd did.
Gaddafi may be dead, according to NBC.
The cell phone video being shown looks like him.
So, what the hell was her point?
Oh, right. She didn’t have one.
Hey! Anderson! ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!ANDERSON!
Let them eat it???
Let’s recap, shall we?
Bush and Saddam – One Trillion dollars and thousands of US lives.
Obama and Qaddafi – One Billion dollars and zero US lives.
Bush and OBL—Escaped from Afghanistan into Syria
Obama and OBL—Found in Syria and Executed.
For Syria, I think you mean Pakistan?
Oh and you missed one:
Bush and Cheney – Still at large 🙂
Why certainly. Doh! 🙂
Well that’s it, the last great hope for the GOP isn’t going to throw his hat in the ring now…
Narcissist with a napoleon complex
Prefers using bombs and targeted assassinations without a view to collateral damage
Happy to stir up the rabble with pointless yet inflammatory rhetoric
Loved him his oil and gas industry
Great at enriching himself and his cronies at the expense of the majority of his constituents
Loved his expensive and pointless weaponry (a golden gun)
Muammar Gaddafi – he’d have polled in the mid 20%s right out of the gate – I’m sure of it
Forgot – democracy is great as long as we poll 90+%
Looks to me as though the most oft-repeated debate snippet is the Romney-J.R.Tejas shouting match on illegal immigrants. Made me imagine two loudmouthed and uninformed drunks in a bar having a shout fest whilst puking on each other.
This Republican candidate field is pitiful; it’s the most subterranean cluster of candidates I’ve ever seen competing for a single candidacy for anything, much less for POTUS. Each is yet one more bit of evidence that the earth once was (or currently remains) an ingergalactic penal colony for the criminally insane.
On Gadaffi: if he is indeed dead, did he die in Libya or in Africa?
“Yes Michele, you have your hand up …”
When can we expect the cheque from Libya now?
I wonder if you can see Africa from Libya?
I suspect Palin would explain that yes, Libya is visible from “the country of Africa.”
How can there possibly be SO MUCH DUMB resident in both the crust and in the pie itself of a political party? How’d that happen?
Playing soccer last night, ball goes out of play for a throw.
“Hey ref, that’s ours!” shouts a centre back near me.
“Nah mate, your lads leg took it off ours and pushed it out – its a good call” says me.
“Hey what’s your problem?” says the dude.
“Its our ball, it was a good call” says me.
“Why don’t you let the ref make the call, then and keep it to yourself” says the dude.
“What? You are the one arguing with the ref, I’m agreeing with him” says me.
I turn to his partner centre back, who agrees with me on the call.
“He’s arguing with the ref and blaming me for it?”
“Hey I was on your side” says dude’s mate.
“He’s a Republican isn’t he?” says me
“I think so, yes” says his mate..
Priceless!
Whoa, Qaddafi is dead?
Yup: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-15387872

Oooh, they fucked him up. Shot to death in front of a baying mob? I wonder if some of his last thoughts were about how he really should have gotten out of the country when he could.
Wow, that looks like him.
Now we’ll see how things go in Libya…
Graphic video showing Qaddafi alive just after capture.
No way I’m watching that video.
Wing Nuts are already falling all over themselves to deny any credit at all to the CIC. I know Rubio can’t help being an asshole, but why such a transparent asshole?
Some of the story seems that NATO drones attacked Gaddafi’s escape convoy and drove him back to the city as he tried to break out….
GIT BIG GUBMINT OFF YER BACK! VOTE REPUBLICAN!
Someone needs to pass a bill requiring DeMinty to use a segregated, firewalled, separate, secure and encrypted internet to communicate with the rest of the planet.
That’d be so much better.
Doesn’t he just put on the tin foil to receive messages from the great beyond.
DeMint – spit!
Unconstitutional. Violates Separate But Equal.
Ahem… What I meant to say is that Separate but Equal is unconstitutional. Therefore, requiring a separate internet would be Unconstitutional.
Sheesh. Brain is sluggish today…

[the repub message: will place the blame with the Pres but give him no credit]
I saw someone posted the Congressional Reform Act of 2011 yesterday and I got a copy in my email today that had this as the lead in. Thought I’d pass it on.
Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best
quotes about the debt ceiling:
“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. “You just pass a law
that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all
sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. ” The 26th
amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months
& 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in
1971…before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to
the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the
land…all because of public pressure.
Would it be fair to name it the Balanced Budget Amendment in the process? Republicans would surely go along with it then, no?
Now that has possibilities. Balance the budget or lose your cushy job. I like it.
Good idea.
War as a tool of philanthropy. Only in America.
Hartmann has Pat Buchanan on his show. I pine for the sanity of Peter Ferrara! 😀
Patsy has always been nasty but he’s really gone off the rails the last few days. I wonder if he has an offer from FAUX”News” and is trying to get fired by MSNBC. For the life of me I can’t figure out why they are keeping him on the payroll. I think it seriously damages their credibility with their fan base.
Buchanan is hawking a book right now, that’s why he was on Thom’s show. So I guess that’s the motivation behind his ‘off the rails’ nastiness.
Like I mentioned yesterday, MSNBC lost some credibility when they pushed Cenk Uygur out. The numbers aren’t near what they were right after Keith left. Once some things came out, it appeared more that Keith had always intended to leave when the time was right, so there was some forgiving of MSNBC by the Left.
I think Keith owed his reputation to bomb throwing and picking fights in part. Cenk I think has a stronger command of the issues and spends less time picking fights and more time on issues.
I truly hope no one asks BatshiteMichele what continent the nation of Australia is in.
Unless there’s oil or terrists there I doubt the subject comes up.
Would one consider Ruprecht Murdoch a terrist?
But he’s Amurkin! That makes it alright!
You think she’s heard of Australia? She somehow doesn’t seem the type that would have gone to see Crocodile Dundee, so how would she know?
Foster Beer commercials??
What did the President say?
Qaddafi is dead.
Duh, Walt! 😀
.. and therefore won’t be participating in the 6th GOP debate – although I’d be surprised that SPOTUS would comment on a partisan matter like that.
He could participate – St. Ronnie shows up at the clown-fest/
At least Current won’t have a problem with what Cenk does in his off hours. Or who he donates money to.

This has to end. If we keep knocking of foreign heads of state we don’t like before long the MIC won’t have anyone left to invade. Nip it, I tell ya. Nip it in the bud.
Youtube and cameraphones are making it hard for the CIA to prop up dictators in secrecy.
Just what I am saying. What is the world coming to when you can’t assassinate someone in private? Of what earthly use are under-the-table agreements when someone has a cellphone down there? The world is going to hell when being sneaky and underhanded doesn’t work anymore.
The first shot over the bow…
Qaddafi killed – Another one bites the dust!
Dammit! (Back to drawing board for Gaddafi on Music Night post….)
Who said it could only be played once?
Put it up on Music Night – we can listen to it again!
So just what is the difference between the present day action in Libya and the Bay of Pigs? Other than about 50 years.
Libya won’t provide the reason and the means to arrange the assassination of JFK?
That’s why we can’t have Cuban cigars. Libya hasn’t helped assassinate a single US President in 30 years so we can still enjoy Libyan lentils. Or is it camels?
Good paying jobs will be coming to Alabama unless Alabama is a “right to work” state that will rob the employees of a decent wage. Then Carpenter Technologies will be making a bundle on the backs of hard workers. And brown people need not apply for any of these jobs.
Thanks for showing me that Cats.
That can’t hurt my personal situation one bit. When a company chooses a new location somebody always loses out.
I can see the logic of the location. Land is cheap there. We haven’t privatized our power companies (TVA), so power costs are low. That is going to be a large consumer of watts, I can tell you. A lot of the product will be utilized right here, between the Delta Rocket plant in Decatur and the aviation/defense/medical manufacturing locally.
I hope this business brings more intelligent people to the area.
And several butcher’s aprons…
On another subject, I have a personal comment I wish to express about word usage.
I have never cared for the term “illegals” as applied to people who are here in this country illegally. During the debates, the Republicans toss the term about without recognizing that they are using it as a pejorative. I think they think it’s okay to say because it’s been said so many times, but I also believe that the reason they use it is because they know they can’t get away with saying “wetbacks.” So they say “illegals.” But the poeple themselves are not illegal, only their immigration status is.
I have also decided that I will no longer refer to them as “illegal immigrants.” Again, the word “illegal” is being used as an adjective modifying the word “immigrant”, so it is, for all intents and purposes, the same as saying it is the person himself who is illegal, not his immigration status.
I have decided that from now on, I shall try to remember to refer to them (here, on the Twitter, on the Facebook, on the ThinkProgress) as “illegally immigrated.” That way, it’s their immigration status that’s being referrred to as illegal, not the people themselves.
As always, you are free to disagree with me and continue to refer to them any way you wish. I know that most of you (if not all of you) do not refer to them as “illegals”, and for that I am grateful. Thank you for letting me have my say. I have to get back to work now, so go about your business. 🙂
It’s kinda odd that you brought that up while I was writing a post that touched on the same subject. I usually use the term “illegal alien” because immigration is a legal process. An immigrant, by definition, is here legally. I suppose we could use “undocumented resident” but many are documented in some way but not, technically, “legal”. “Residents without the benefit of official sanction” is probably the best description but that just gets cumbersome.
I think that progressives in the past have called them undocumented people or workers. Because that is why they are here. I don’t like the term “illegal” either, and wikipedia puts them under the category of irregular immigrants…because it is a catch all term, and covers everyone from students overstaying their visa to poor people sneaking in over that non-existent 20 foot fence. (BTW… how tall does a fence have to be before you can’t build a ladder over it?)
I was attempting to find a phrasing that a) was simple to say, and, b) emphasized that it was their status that was illegal, not the people themselves.
BTW, since I honestly do believe in life on other planets and that we may get a visit soon from them (if they aren;t already living here, a la “Men In Black”), I wopn;t refer to them as “aliens”. They are, after all, as far as anyone knows, human.
I like the term noncitizen. Aside from the Orwellian connotations, it covers all people in the US who aren’t citizens. No matter their legal status. From tourist to entrepreneurial visitor.
Having dealt with being in a country ‘illegally’, through no effort on my part, I can empathize with the noncitizens who are just trying to do a job someone is paying them to do.
Bravo, Wayne. I have always hated the term, “illegals.” It’s dehumanizing.
I’ve been using “undocumented worker,” although that does assume they are working. Then again, if they weren’t working, there really is no reason for them to want to come here, but I’m babbling…
The latest batscat from Crazy Shelly. It really makes one wonder how often she realizes she’s lying when she says these things. Her bizarre claim that Obama is projecting weakness when he has all but destroyed Al Qaeda from the top down and committed our air power assets to bringing down Gaddafi is a recent example. Now there’s this bizarre claim that Obama has done nothing regarding illegal aliens when, under his administration, spending on border security has gone up and deportations are dramatically higher than ever in our history.
http://www.dumpbachmann.com/2011/10/bachmannn-fear-mongering-about.html
I wonder if that wall will be made of bat guano?
Obama has not advanced the return of Jesus by bringing on Armageddon – that is after all the #1 foriegn policy goal of the United States…
…. why wasn’t that on your question sheet Mr Anderson Vanderbilt-Cooper?
Bachmann writes,
Isn’t that about the same amount as was appropriated PER MONTH to finance the Iraq War under GW Bush?
I still resent having to contribute towards paying for that shit.
Indeed. That’s what made me resolve to never, ever, vote for any Republican until and unless they acknowledge that Bush is guilty of war crimes and, by extension, made us a criminal nation. I have a feeling that will not happen in my lifetime. I have many other gripes with the GOP but that’s the big one that isn’t open to negotiation.
Odd that Shelly makes no mention of all the taxes anyone in the US pays. Besides the various local and sales taxes, anyone getting a paycheck in the US pays income taxes. Now if one is a ‘noncitizen’, said income taxes are free and clear because, odds are, they aren’t filing tax returns.
(Note: The noncitizen designation is in response to Wayne’s comment earlier.).
Soo…… Batshit – if you are concerned about the $113B that is being spend by the taxpayer, why don’t you get the 13+ m people , most of whom would be happy to get on the right side of the law, paying taxes? Wouldn’t that be a great feather in your boa, Batshit?
Priceless: “This past Saturday, I became the first candidate to sign a pledge that I will build a double-walled fence along our border by a certain date. ”
If she signed a pledge shouldn’t there be an actual date? Did she forget it? Did she leave it wide open?
I suspect she’s not just the first to sign it, but the only.
And what it is with Repubs and their fucking pledges, anyway?
I am very suspicious of any lawmaker who signs a pledge that might conflict with their duty.
See Norquist, Grover…

Nice job Zoosters…. you were about the first to call AC on his omission about *Federal* taxes right?
http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/anderson-cooper-apologizes-repeating-lie-4
Where was the shout out to the Zoo AC?
Credit to AC though for ‘fessing up. Classy.
I was willing to give him a little leeway on that one because I thought that the question was couched in their terms in order to elicit a response that they do, in fact, have plans to increase taxes on those least able to pay them.
The thing about the not paying taxes because they get refunds idea just chaps my butt. The Federal government gets a huge, tax free loan for 12 months out of the year. It’s reverse Wimpyism…’I will gladly give you a hamburger Tuesday for the use of your money today.’
You know, in WW2, the BBC World Service would broadcast a string of odd little phrases at the end of their evening music programme. The phrases, things like ‘The cow wears shoes, the cows wears shoes’ and ‘Roger has a piece of wood for his supper, Roger has piece of wood for his supper’ , were of course code phrases to the French resistance to blow up a railway line, or a bridge or cut some phone lines or something in German-occupied France, some clandestine secret army thing.
‘The cake is baked’ …. she was so insistent to say it and then repeat it…. only thing I can come up with is that it is something to do with the end of the world tonight…. anyone?
It’s the call to the mothership for Friday.
Can’t resist. “Calling Barranca, Calling Baranca…”
Her entire performance consisted of prepared, irrelevant, sloganeering but that last bit was truly bizarre.
I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about, but then again, I never understand what the hell she is talking about. Maybe she really was wearing a straight jacket with the arm ties removed.
I for one am keeping the doors and windows locked tonight – I think the Fundies and Batscatters are going to walking abroad tonight ….
…. cake == Earth or maybe a reference to C-4
…. baked == set more brush fires in Texas and blow up Herman Cain’s pizza oven.
Oh, crap. I forgot all about that. I guess I don’t need to plan for tomorrow’s dinner after all.
making good progress for tomorrow Gummitch 😉
Noam Chomsky is coming to Kutztown University and the tickets are FREE. Looks like I better go pick up some tickets.
Thinking about Wayne’s post on less than well documented people in our country and I had to take a teeny trip down memory lane. In the 60’s and 70’s the area just south of where I live was a huge truck gardening area. Where I live now and grew up is tater country but down there just about anything grew. And every year there would be busloads of Mexicans who would be brought in sometime in late July and they would work the various harvests until mid October. I was somewhat aware of this in High School in the early 70’s but paid more attention when I came home in the late 70’s.
One town, about 40 miles south, had a Mexican restaurant that was to die for. IIRC a couple legally immigrated and set it up and for many years they and their family served the best Mex in WI. I came out of the Navy a Mexican food junkie so I visited often. In the late 80’s, early 90’s, things changed. The buses had stopped years before and migrant workers in WI sort of faded away. The restaurant is gone now and the fiestas of late summer as well.
But the strange thing is there are still Mexicans working the truck garden fields.
In the 80’s, my little agricultural business (there were two of us) got involved with a rancher friend and for several years we grew the only seedless watermelons in Arizona. Watermelons in AZ come off early due to the heat that gets serious in mid-April, so my mid-June harvest is in full swing. It was, then, virtually impossible to find any local talent to harvest the crop. Harvest involves seven or eight guys; one drives the field truck slowly up and down the field, another stands in the bed of the truck and catches and stacks every melon tossed his way by the guy standing in a rack hanging on the side of the truck, and he catches and hands over every melon tossed to him, one at a time, by the four or five guys walking the rows, each of whom picks up the next freshly cut melon and tosses it to the guy on his left, who tosses it to the guy on his left, etc. The field rows are a quarter mile long, so for the guys on the ground, one up and back trip is a half mile walk, stoop labor all the way, picking up and tossing 15 lb melons. Each truckload was about 20,000 lbs and a typical tractor-trailer rig could accommodate 50,000 lbs, or two and a half field trucks. During the height of the season, we’d get out at least two full 50,000 lb load per day, sometimes three. We’d start at dawn and work till dark in temps that would typically peak at around 115F there in the Gila Valley.
Our working crews were invariably from Mexico and were not legally in the US; the Border Patrol stopped by at least once each week, sometimes twice, and carried all the harvest crew back to Mexico. It usually took them up to 36 hours to get back on the job again, but they always got back. We paid the head harvester (a US citizen, a friend) who then paid the crew in cash. We had a deal with the crew that if they were deported and unable to get back, we would send the money owed them to the address in Mexico they furnished us. We did that several times over the five or so years we were in the business.
The Mexican men in the labor crews were, each and all, great guys. The worked hard, never faltered, always got the job done cleanly and with no problems of any kind. The money they made doing what no locals would ever consider doing was, to them, enough to keep their respective families house, clothed, and fed; it was no wonder they came secretly north for the work. We admired them and did them every favor we could manage.
I could never understand — still don’t — why it’s so nearly impossible for them to come legally into the US for seasonal work. Border silliness caused them no end of grief, and for no good reason. It was a problem that could have been made a non-problem by the single stroke of a pen in the right hands in DC. But no. They were somehow deemed a “threat” to Amurka, and still are.
That’s an absolutely stupid assumption, an ignorant assumption made and promoted by fucking bigots and fear mongers.
Bachmann appears to fit the mold exceptionally well.
Me, I’ll never forget the camaraderie we all felt when, sometimes in mid-day, we’d stop by the field with a cooler full of iced beer to share with the crew while they dined on their lunch — commonly a rattlesnake they caught in the field at dawn, now skinned, cleaned, and dressed out, served sushi-style with their own homemade tortillas. They appreciated the cold beer to wash it all down with!
We learned, if we didn’t already know, that it’s a lot more fun and a lot more rewarding to make new friends and to enjoy their company rather than to suffer with fear and unwarranted hatred. Mores the pity that the rest of the country can’t learn that exceptionally simple lesson.
Welcome To The Machine – Pink Floyd
I think the reason Harold is avoiding the media is because he died.
Then again, maybe not.
Harold had a stroke – he’s still hanging on – well until tomorrow when he’ll join the others on the way up.

Wayne Newton – MacArthur Park
Wayne has covered every song ever written, much to the chagrin of all original artists and writers.
I’ve not read where the time line for this ‘happening’ has been figured out:
do ‘all the saved’, in the entire world, go up at the same time?
or
is it spread out by time zones?
Depends on how big a Dustbuster God can build.
I was wondering about that myself and did a check on Wiki. I was under the impression that Rapture was more closely linked to Armageddon but after reading the Pre, Mid and Post Tribulation stances of various sects of Christianity (reads like the US Tax Code) I would tend to agree with Cole Porter.
Ebb, do you remember the name of the person who recorded his moanings about life? As I recall he began with “What’s the matter friend? Life getting you down?” Then he’d go on about something or another that might be making your life miserable (You say your wife ran away with the milkman and now you’ve got no cream for your coffee?) Finally he’d end up with a “Well cheer up my friend,,,”
For the life of me I can’t remember the guy’s name. Can anyone help my fading memory?
I recall the recording – just not the name of the artist.
(Spike Jones just keeps popping into my brain – Don’t think it was him).
Wasn’t that Jimmy Durante???
Sounds like it could be my cousin.
Something about “Life got you down boopie?”
pach, didn’t it get used in a commercial later on?
I think it was bunky.
“Is that’s what bothering you?” I can here it. I want to say it was a commercial, 70’s, maybe 80’s. Started out with a dreary voice and ended up disgustingly cheerful?
I want to say it was an early Toyota commercial. Crap, I feel like John Edwards…I see a commercial, for cars? Someone calling you bunky?
The answer is Eddie Lawrence.
Good call.
Good call. But I think his schtick was used later for advertising since he seems to be late 50’s early 60’s. But it is definitely the pattern.
Yes indeed, thanks nwog – I was looking it up as you were posting!
It loosened the cobwebs just as soon as Hooda mentioned ‘bunkie’!
Eddie Lawrence
Eddie Lawrence (born March 2, 1919) is an American monologist, actor, singer, lyricist, playwright, director and television personality, whose unique comic creation, the eternally and bizarrely optimistic Old Philosopher, has gained him a devoted, although specialized, cult following for over five decades.
Thank you, thank you.
Who remembers Redd Foxx’s and Rustty Warren’s records?.
Uh oh, apparently Marco Rubio was mistaken/lying/uninformed about his family fleeing Cuba under Castro. They came to the US 2 1/2 years before Castro came to power.
I’ve been catching up on The Young Turks and came across this bit on Herman KochCain. Once again I find myself reminded of a line from the “Upper Middle Class Twit of the Year” sketch.
“He doesn’t know when he’s beaten. He doesn’t know when he’s winning either. He has no sort of sensory apparatus whatsoever.”
Between the weird apples vs. oranges stuff and his incoherent stance on abortion I have to conclude that he might be the stupidest, if not craziest, of the bunch. Watch the guy next to him when his jaw drops. I’ve seen a few people affect a jaw drop but I think this is the first time I’ve seen a genuine case. It’s a classic!

or maybe pinhead patriots.
When Steve met Barack:
“You’re headed for a one-term presidency,” {Jobs} told Obama at the start of their meeting, insisting that the administration needed to be more business-friendly. As an example, Jobs described the ease with which companies can build factories in China compared to the United States, where “regulations and unnecessary costs” make it difficult for them.
Jobs also criticized America’s education system, saying it was “crippled by union work rules,” noted Isaacson. “Until the teachers’ unions were broken, there was almost no hope for education reform.” Jobs proposed allowing principals to hire and fire teachers based on merit, that schools stay open until 6 p.m. and that they be open 11 months a year.

Apparently Steve Jobs wasn’t a saint after all…
It appears he may have been somewhat of an iJerk.
just another acid-head with an opinion.
Just another hustler. Meanwhile, Bill and Melinda Gates are spending millions on finding a cure for malaria.
Not being an Apple cultist, I always thought Jobs was a dick.
When you have 13-year old girl prisoners who work 12 hours a day 7 days a week and live in cramped dormitories, you can build iPads, iPods and computers a lot cheaper than here. Those darn regulations! And in China, we can dump heavy metals into the rivers, and get away with it!
Breaking News: Jobs was NOT Willy Wonka.
Remember, this is the guy from Apple. Still trying to catch up with his old nemesis who controls some 90% of world computers. Part of the reason Macs don’t have to worry about hackers and viruses is they are such a small part of the market. And just how many I Anythings or computers for that matter are made in America?
Cancer-stricken mom chooses baby’s life over hers
I’m pro-choice, but I wouldn’t have made this choice.
Funny, I would have thought otherwise.
It wouldn’t be an easy choice, but I wouldn’t have a child just to leave it an orphan.

*facepalm*
Exactly!
Seriously, No joke?
Exactly.
Oh goody. Auntie has a new toy to maybe make money from. Zooey, if you knew your sisters would do this, I can see not carrying to term.
I wonder what happens to the poor kid if she doesn’t grow up pageant pretty?
You just never really know what other people are going to do. I’d rather fight for my own life — and since I already have children, focus on sticking around for them.
I guess that would depend on the support network. The part that saddens me is the ‘single mother’. The sperm donor is about one small chance for explanation from fertilizer.

The misogynist, exceedingly poor excuse for a human being, starts out admonishing McCain for giving Obama credit for Qaddafi

Limbaugh Somehow Turns Libya Discussion Into A Fat Joke About Michelle Obama
Lumpy telling fat jokes? That’s rich…
Michelle Obama gives Rush a woodie. Either that or he has to pee really bad.
Limpballs lapsed into self parody long ago.
Rush criticizes Michelle Obama for her weight.
Rush criticizes drug users for their drug use.
Rush makes one hypocritical statement after another.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
This little quake missed the ’89 anniversary by three days!
DAN SAVAGE INVITES HERMAN CAIN TO PROVE HE CAN CHOOSE TO BE GAY
I’m sure “Herb” Cain will jump all over that one. 😆
Herpderp Cain ain’t gonna do it unless Savage ponies up more money than the Repubs are for him playing their stooge.
“Herb” will spout he chooses to be hetero and that’s that.
Hermie can’t keep his ‘hates’ straight (pun intended) so there will not be acceptance to the challenge!

Rush has to be getting a tad nervous. Saddam and Qaddafi both pretty much lived in bunkers. They used their words to draw supporters for regimes that ignored the common folk and spoke for the elite. Add in Mubarak and they were the voice of suppression, the source of propaganda that put the people in the streets.
Rushie, the people are taking to the streets in America. Is your bunker deeper than Saddams?
I guess Starbucks is pro-homo coffee.
Who knew?
Tea Baggers. Their limp, drained bags are jealous of the latte crowd.
No wonder I’ve lately become a coffee person — it must be in support of the gayness.
If I were to publish a survey of all the gay people I know I would have to say they like beer. Wine is a good second choice. First thing in the morning it is a toss up between tea and coffee.
In plain terms, I haven’t noticed a preference for beverage that is directly related to sex. Other than after a hot session some sort of liquid is desirable That and maybe a cigarette, depending..
The Economist charts new research:
“[T]he existing mean estimates are in the right ballpark. That means the world is warming fast.”

Iowans are mad at Herman Cain because he is “pro-choice.”
Republicans are hitting Cain hard.
Tonight, dear zoo animals, I get to turn into a parrothead.
Parrothead?
Yep… get the margaritas ready.
What does that mean? You still look like a ‘roo.
Can’t figure how to change it. 🙂
Y’all have a good night!
It’s a Buffet reference. Fans of Jimmy are Parrotheads.
Okey dokey.
Blended or Rocks?
Depends. Tonight… blended. No salt.
Blended, no salt. Courting a brain freeze with a direct hit of tequila. Serious.
After an unfortunate incident in San Diego some years ago I can’t even stand to be in the same room with an open bottle of tequila.
My condolences, pete. And I’m glad I got over a similar affliction.
Bartender, I’ll drink pete’s and Hooda’s tequila. Thanks.
Oh, and mine, too. 😉
You can have pete’s but touch mine at risk. Unless it’s cheap stuff then I would warn you it isn’t worth it. 😉
Are you over the tequila affliction or not! Or is it just cheap tequila?
It’s cheap booze. Can’t handle it. Rail drinks are nasty. Unless you just want to get wasted on minimal money. Don’t care to be drunk and if I’m going to be so, I prefer to enjoy the process of getting there.
I drink at home, alone, so you’re speaking Chinese to me right now. 😆
Unless it’s cheap stuff then I would warn you it isn’t worth it.
Is that the kind where I have to hold the gun on you to make you drink it, and then you have to hold the gun on me to make me drink it? 🙂
house, that was 1975 or so. Today, things have aged and matured. 😉
Would you like the worm too?
Been there. done that. Haven’t had a bottle of St Albans Mescal de Oaxaca in a long time.
Hooda can have the worm. 😆
It’s O.K. There are still plenty of alcoholic drinks I enjoy. It also gave me a good reason to learn how to cook Mexican food. When I visit a Mexican restaurant I have to make sure I’m nowhere near the bar or choose one without a liquor license.
Tequila is unique. It brings about a state that cannot be reached via imbibing any other intoxicant. Including nonliquids. The juice of the agave cactus is different. It effects the brain in ways no other booze does. Not sure why. I suspect it has something to do with its source. Other alcoholic beverages are distilled from various grains or fruits. I have often wondered if agave and peyote had some link.
That must be why I like it so much…on the rocks, please.
For me it’s gin. And the city was Muncie, Indiana.
From the “wait a minute” file.
Lindsay Graham wants a strong presence in Libya because there’s money to be made. Wait a minute… wasn’t he one of the guys whining about President Obama dedicating U.S. forces in Libya without Congressional approval? Now he wants us to sweep in and rape their resources? Doesn’t he realize that the new Libyan leaders, not to mention the people, might, you know, object?

What the President said today about Libya:
It’s an illusion. Crazy Shelly was just quoted on a local radio show saying that she was disappointed because President Obama “hasn’t even mentioned the killing of Gaddafi”. Crazy Shelly wouldn’t lie.
I hate to say it but she probably missed the news because she and Marcus were having hot pig sex. Or was it monkey? Whatever, she was distracted.
No no no, Batshit is barren now. The Fabulous Marcus is off the hook.
Barren should be a reason for frequent and repeated hot monkey sex. If sex doesn’t distract you more than business or politics, you might be a Republican.
To Batshit and her kind, sex is for procreation ONLY.
Obviously, you don’t think like them — which is why you hang out at the Zoo.
Age does have its penalties. I don’t think about sex near as much as I did when I was young, back in my 24/7 days. I’m thinking I’m already down to 22/7, and I’m not even 70 yet.
As they say, it’s a bitch to get old! 😥
Chuckle, Batshit Shelly…America’s first menopausal President. Any man who has had to deal with a woman in menopause, if that don’t scare the shit out of you I wonder.
Hmmphh, I didn’t have a single problem with menopause. So there.
90% of women don’t. It has been my luck to have known 3 women who have had a wild ride through it. The first was my Mom. She hit it while I was in the Navy and every leave I had was involved with helping her and Dad deal with it. Poor Pop, he was so utterly confused but he loved Mom and was was willing to do whatever it took to get through it.
Where did you get the 90% figure? I’ve never heard that before.
In Shelly’s case it appears that the mental symptoms of menopause hit when she was in her teens.
90%? I got it from the women I have known. Its a rough estimate but 1 in 10 seems about right.
Okay.
Not saying all women who hit menopause go nuts, I’ve had to deal with a few who have but all things considered, there were a lot more I didn’t have to deal with.
But the few who slipped the trolley did so in memorable fashion.
Shelly seems to be right up there.
She seems to have gone to Menopause Land, and decided that she liked it so much she’d stay forever.
If she’s like my Mom Jesus will be riding the train down the alley next to her house so he can come to dinner. That’s how she gets the straight skinny from him.
That dude just needs to tell her to STFU and go eat a tub of ice cream.

Maybe I’m an economic nebish but just what can the Fed do right now? The interest rates are about as low as they can go. The banks and corporations have more than enough money. About the only thing I think they can do is to say unless banks and businesses do something with the money they have they won’t get more. Since they already have more than they have ever had, this is a pretty toothless threat. Seems to me the Fed has shot its wad and it didn’t even make a mess on big businesses belly.
This is news about Bernie Sanders desire to reform the Fed in general.
The economy is in Congress’ hands now — specifically repiggie hands.

Where are the jobs, Speaker Boehner? Senate REPUBLICANS reject slimmed-down Obama jobs bill: on.msnbc.com/oENop5 via @msnbc
Fuckers.
Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi have been among the few who have consistently, and accurately, said that the GOoPers are actively sabotaging the economy. Evey Democrat has to say so every time they are in front of a microphone. The “librul media” can’t cut the feed on all of them all the time.
I actually scored a point with a conservative poster who was saying that Obama/Pelosi didn’t accomplish anything when she was speaker. I pointed him to an article about the 200+ pieces of legislation that were passed by the House and blocked in the Senate. He didn’t convert but, at least, he admitted that he was unaware of that fact and claimed that he was going to look at it more. The ignorance of those who get their news from the MSM is probably a bigger danger than the hatefulness of the FAUX”news” worshipers.
In a democracy, ignorant voters are as dangerous as the smooth-talking bandits far too many of them support and vote for. When ignorance gains a functional majority, the death of the nation is not far off.
Hey, look who’s tweeting now! 🙂
Tweet!
Rachel bitch-slaps the Koch brothers.

Wayne and I saw that, Zooey, it was excellent! She’s amazing!
She is unfailingly polite at all times, but her tone of voice and the look on her face made it very clear that she was being deadly serious.
I won’t be surprised if the Koch brothers go after her big time after this.
Rachel can handle them. 🙂
Rachel knows truth is a great protector! Kochsuxers would have a difficult time disputing facts – then again they’d just make up their own – that is a repub value!
The look on her face when she said “man-up” was priceless. So we shall see if the Koch Bros. have anything left in their tank, or be the true pusays they are.
They can’t be bothered with the ‘lower class’ – there will be no direct interaction. The PR Hounds will be unleashed, though!
Of course you’re right, that’s exactually how it will play out, but I’m into fantizing that they would take the bait and have their arses handed to them. Oh well to bed. Ebb go jolly, but if you can’t go jolly, go as jolly as you can.
fantizing? You know what I mean.
Yes!
Goodnight, nwog!
