The Watering Hole, Monday, March 14th, 2016: Cuteness Trumps Evil At The End

This weekend I OD’d on Trump. And jelly beans. I’m not sure which made me feel worse.

I refuse to watch any of the myriad videos of Hair Drumpf that have dominated the internets over the past, well, forever it seems. As I have mentioned in comments elsewhere, being a lifelong New Yorker means, in part, that we’ve been exposed to toxic levels of NY’s own version of Agent Orange since long before “Celebrity Apprentice” existed. Having long ago dismissed Drumpf à l’Orange as a loud-mouthed, self-important asshole, it’s frightening to see so many people taken in by this vulgar charlatan. Especially if one looks at his mouth. It appears to have been shaped over a lifetime of angrily hurling bullying insults and orders. How can anyone look at Drumpf “speaking” without being disgusted and horrified?

Here’s a shot from a thread at ThinkProgress:

The next few are from various threads at Raw Story:

But enough ugliness, even for a Monday. Here’s some cuteness to counteract the face if evil:

    • No surprise there. Or anywhere the Trump name appears. “Trump” means, to me, AVOID! Always has. Reserved for and hallowed by only those who love bullshit.

  1. Hi All, Just got back from a week in London. Awesome trip! Saw a whole lot and got information overload LOL! One thing was interesting that I will share. We did a London Walk where a guide tells you all kinds of interesting things and there are many different walks. This one was the Knightsbridge Pub Walk, and yes, we go into 2 pubs! On the tour were 12 people and two were from Washington DC. They were both pretty quite and then it came out that they were embarrassed to say they were Americans!!! Not kidding you! We all said that was terrible and we assured them that they, and many, many Americans are decent folks and they shouldn’t be embarrassed based on stupid politicians. Then the one girl gave us a bit of gossip. Her roommate used to work with Edward Snowden!! When his shit went down, the girls roommate had to be re-screened for security reasons and they even question this girl! Kind of cool!

    • Two quick questions: (1) has Canada started construction on their southern border wall yet, or are they waiting till Drumpf clinches the nomination? (2) Where will the refugee camps be located if Drumpf should happen to prevail in November?

Trying to plan a bit ahead here.😉

  2. That Drumpf is a grifter is a given. The fact that he is able to appeal to the ignorant (and there’s a shitload of ignorant out there) is a testament to the reich wing’s success at dumbing down our entire educational system. No more of that troublesome critical thinking, just find a slogan and punch somebody you think might be a threat.
A good article this morning from Greg Sargent’s Plum Line
This new revelation should cripple Donald Trump. But it won’t. Here’s why.
Drumpf and his branded line of shirts, made by low paid foreign labor…grifting on..

  3. Palin canceled an appearance at a Trump event today to be with her husband.

  4. Police consider charging Trump with inciting a riot over violence at North Carolina rally

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s office is considering filing charges of inciting a riot against GOP frontrunner Donald Trump for the Fayetteville, North Carolina rally according to an NBC reporter and local media sources. The rally was the site where Trump supporter John Franklin McGraw was arrested for sucker-punching a black protester and threatening to kill him.

“We are looking at the totality of these circumstances, including any additional charges against Mr. McGraw, including the potential of whether there was conduct on the part of Mr. Trump or the Trump campaign which rose to the level of inciting a riot,” Sheriff’s Office lawyer Ronnie Mitchell told The Fayetteville Observer.

Sanders Sends Vegan Thugs to Attack Peace Loving Nazis

Republican front-runner Donald Trump was crying foul on Monday after Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders allegedly dispatched an army of vegan thugs to attack a rally of peace-loving Nazis in Cincinnati.

According to Trump, he had begun to address a group of “orderly and civil Nazis” at a downtown arena when his audience was suddenly set upon by an unruly mob of angry vegans, many menacingly clad in Birkenstocks and sustainable garments.

The Sanders supporters, singing an alarmingly militant version of Simon & Garfunkel’s “America,” marched into the arena and began “intimidating and threatening” the Nazis, Trump said. (more at link)

  6. So, according to Lawrence O’Donnell, tomorrow the GOP will be on a death watch. Will someone please remind me to check my supply of beer and popcorn before 4:20 tomorrow afternoon?

  7. Hair Drumpf’s Health CouldCareLess plan …”would drive up the federal deficit by nearly $500 billion over the next decade and cause 21 million Americans to lose health coverage, according to a new independent analysis”
